Premium Member Find Me Somebody To Love

Lovesick Ollie Octopus
was feeling so terribly sad
He burst into floods of tears
and sobbed to his grandad

Grandad said now Ollie
will you please stop crying
The ocean is salty enough
that fact there’s no denying

Ollie begged grandad’s advice
he said Ollie just listen to me
You’ve got more than one heart
in fact you’re blessed with three

You’ve got eight long tentacles
which can act as loving arms
But all the female octopuses
are still oblivious to your charms

Grandad scratched his head
and said now listen sonny
You need to charm the ladies
with jokes - so make them funny

And if you get them laughing
as sure as sure can be
One's bound to fall in love with you
buy a joke book and just see

So Ollie purchased a joke book
and learned lots of fishy puns
But when he tried to use this line
about the ‘Codfather’, his date runs!

So Ollie joined an inter-net dating site
one called ‘plenty more fish in the sea’
He met a lonely octopus called Olivia
they’re now engaged and are truly happy

Thanks to Harlequin for the inspiration xx

Flying the California Coast

My California coastline
A song of endlessly repeating peaks
Singing verses of silence
Whispering unknown refrains

Mossy sand and stone
Thinly veiled and misted
Striated curves
Etched in stony hardness
The brain's soft folds
Hide truths unknown
Organic, orgasmic, orchestral
A geology of the heavens

Roads who wander through villages
Plopped within nature's stomach
Mushroom-like fungi pushing through
Like octopuses
They tangle and detangle
Criss-cross and mingle

Crystalline shards of water
Break upon the plate’s edges
Fields of blue finger the horizon
Interwoven with green and aqua lily pads
Singing the universe's eternal chorus

Endlessly the same yet always different
As if the granite domes that fracture the skies
Might scatter into grains of sand
Proving again the alchemy of God's creation

Island of Fantasy

There's an Island I know which is surrounded
by a deep, blue ocean,
filled with mermaids, Lochness monsters,
giant octopuses, and dolphins
that can talk!

Within the Island, we have folks of all kind,
who have met somehow through time....

Genghis Khan is an architect;
he's doing something different and peaceful,
rather than attacking his fellow Islanders.

Cleopatra is a great chef,
making all kinds of sea delicacies
the Nile will never know about.

Darwin is still an archaeologist;
he has dry bones hidden in his research lab;
he's convinced some Islanders may have
vampire genes in them!

Fishermen love Elvis. He sings so well
the fish jump into the nets in their hundreds.
"No Elvis, No Fishing!" is their motto.

A great number of electric eels are missing,
and no Islander knows why....
Tesla is secretly making electricity from marine
life without a Wildlife Warrant.

Yes, the Island is full of strange people and things
which seem normal and usual to them.

I always carry the Island with me,
like the mythical Giant Turtle.

The Island is in my thoughts....

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

The Last Act

“Hello, sweetie, what’s your name?
Would you like some lollies?
Or my huge brown sugar cane?
Such a nice little girl!
Who’s your daddy
talking to?
What is he doing leaving you to play with yourself?
Are you scared?
Sad?
Lonely?
It’s alright, honey, you’ve got me.

I’ll ride you
to the top of those rainbow hills
where pink unicorns and flying octopuses live.
I’ll take you
where the stars align, and the sky is velvet with glamour.
All my care is you and all my pleasure yours.
Hands,
Put yours in mine
I will show you the world.”

“Sir, you promised me wonders
Yet I’ve felt nothing but pain.
Please send me back home to my family
where we first began.”

“If life were that simple, I wouldn’t have needed you
Should’ve known better than talking to strangers
Oh now you do!
Did it never occur to you that all is just a silly game?
The one that loses is also the one who gained.
Next
to you I lied.
I filled you
with sweet words, and finally made you come.
You’re my one in many conquests,
I your priceless lesson.
Now I’ll make you scream till you pass out,
still no-one will hear your cries.
I might as well kill you.
I might as well die!”

Premium Member See See Under The Sea

the seahorses grazed in a field undersea
the jellyfish wobbled at the party

the starfish in their constellations went
the clams secretive tight lipped and silent

the hammerhead sharks did the DIY
the clown fish entertained as they swam by

the plankton ruled undersea in their gangs
the octopuses spent too long shaking hands

the crabs on the side their day they spent
the lobsters approached in a pincer movement

the sea urchins loitered dishevelled and poor
while the oysters enjoyed everything and all

Premium Member Suck It and Read

Now where does one start to write
To find the courage he has to pluck
And write a poem for a contest
It's all about things that suck

Out there, there are so many places
Where this word can always be used
There are octopuses in our seas
And their suckers are used so true

Even in the medical world
They use leeches to reduce blood swelling
Their active anticoagulant
Is a marvel in their telling

There are women of ill repute
Nothing like sucking on a sweet
A hard neck never deters them
Vampire bats do it to eat

There are others in the animal world
Yes, limpets when they grip their locked
And back to the ladies and ********
Yes the sweetie I meant was rock

Then there are the ones who are gullible
Like a vacuum they become sucked in
There is nothing wrong with the word suck
Using it, is never a sin

Turtles

Turtles

We turtles are special and have been revered
All over the world for centuries.
In the Americas, native people always regarded us
As being sacred, symbolical, and mythical.
Even Christopher Columbus when he crossed the ocean blue,
Paid homage to us in 1492, as he spied a tiny island,
Off the coast of Hispaniola, that reminded him of a huge turtle shell,
Naming it “Tortuga,” the Spanish word for “turtle.”

Turtles like me are quite versatile, at home on either land or sea,
Good weather, bad weather, it’s all the same to me.
Freely swimming and roaming sandy beaches,
It’s easy to seek protection between sharp rocks and crevices,
Colorful coral reefs, sunken ships,
And even hostile sharks and octopuses.
With friends and foes I forage for food,
Among tender seaweeds and crusty ancient barnacles.

Honorable creatures, calm, cool, and seemingly unhurried,
We timid turtles trouble no one and mind our own business.
Alas! Too many of our gentle kind have sadly disappeared,
Some taken for pets, some served on delicate dinner plates,
And some carelessly slaughtered.
But fortunately for me,
I’m the one that got away,
And lived to tell the tale!

Megalodon

In the Mariana trench
Surrounded by holothurians
Jellyfish and white octopuses
We plumb the Challenger deep
In search of Megalodon.

Smith's Octopuses Party On Pontoons

Smith’s Octopuses Party On Pontoons
                   Rumor Has It My Dear

Rumor has it my dear something spectacular is near
Bring your batik hats to our grand lavish scene
Wear flowing Kebeya robes
Let them flow in the air
We’re having our party upon the ocean
On pontoons made of bamboo notions
Flown in from Indonesia with crews
Planks will connect all the segments
Chris Christie will help with construction
Bridging rafts with bamboo shoots & roots
(We understand he understands bridges)
Yachts will punctuate the festivities
Covered in purple red flowers with care
Tied to the floating swaying affair
McCartney and Sting will be there
Octopuses Garden is the theme
And Paul will bring Ringo to sing
The Clinton's and Bushes are on the list
Paparazzi will see if they kiss or do tricks
And who can resist our guests of honor
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

      The main menu is set like this;
          Foie gras loco moco carne
          Matusaka beef
          Pheasant/Mallard breast roast
          Beluga Sevruga, Osetra caviar
Goût de Diamants, Taste of Diamonds champagne
          Haute chocolate ice cream

This all seems like a dream
We pray that the weather holds up
The only waves we wish to see is from us
In the form of greetings and pleasantries
The party has been planned for ages
If storms should gather
It won’t really matter
We’re thankful
The Royals, Mr.& Mrs. Smith are here
To weigh down pontoons and rafts
With billions in sacks of gold trinkets
Door prizes for sure, (sorry no doors), for those who attend
500 guests will arrive at the gala
A date with Mick Jagger and two jaguars
Assured for each person as gifts guaranteed
Compliments of King & Queen Smith
Whose parties should never be missed
A mystery guest, no surprise
A legend in his own mind
Mr. Trump and his hair might arrive
Since the pope is preoccupied
We’ll sway to the music with fine company
All are welcome to our heavenly scene
At the octopuses party on the sea

Inside My Head For Contest

Inside my head there is just so much stuff
and most of it useless, strangely enough
stupid facts that I learned in childhood days
I use every day to confuse and amaze

A slug has four noses, I’m sure you knew
And elephants can’t jump, it’s also true
Every house fly will hum in the key of F
And when bats leave a cave they always turn left

there’s no paper money, it’s all made of cotton
and Honey’s forever, it never goes rotten
a tiger has striped skin and not just striped fur
there’s no cats in the Bible, no wonder they purr

Octopuses have three hearts, nine brains and blue blood
Snails can sleep for three years – if only I could
Here’s one you should try, you can’t tickle yourself
And don’t sneeze with your eyes open – bad for your health

Ants fall to the right when they’ve drunk too much beer
Polar bears are left-handed, isn’t that *****?
Birds cannot pee and worms eat their own poo
And a crocodile can’t poke his tongue out at you

Kangaroos cannot jump if you lift up their tail
And a small child could swim through the veins of a whale
Worms taste of bacon, starfish have no brain
But when they lose a limb, they can grow it again

A shrimp has a heart which he keeps in his head
A hot Hippo is scary, his sweat is bright red
The best thought in my head though, I’m pleased to admit
There is just one of me and God loves me to bits

Premium Member Enter Neolina

ENTER NEOLINA

What a fabulous fish
What an awesome dish,
Neolina is her name,
And Flirting is her game.
She dives, shimmers,
Swims and flows,
She always smiles,
Shines and glows,
And then she dips
To show her other side,
But Neolina is perfect,
And has nothing to hide!
Her colours are surreal,
And make the fish all feel,
That she is from
Another world untold,
Where funky fish unfurl,
And octopuses multiply,
And continually unfold.
She’s sexy and she knows so,
She’s after Nemo as her beau,
She’s been closely watching,
And knows the qualities he has,
But of course,
She knows, she’s the one
With pizzazz!
We all know the story
About Nemo Marlin and Dory,
And how Nemo escaped danger,
From the Dentist stranger.
Neolina hears of Nemo’s escape,
And lets out a sigh,
And excitedly contemplates
What could be nigh!
However,
The crux of my tale,
Is about Marlin
Brewing a plot
To match Neolina, the surreal
Sassy fish,
With Nemo who is hot,
And his fantasies about
An incredible wedding,
On the reef where the sun,
Has a magnificent setting.
Every fish would be invited to come,
And imagine the fashions,
That would be
Sported by some!
Marlin practiced what he
Wanted to say,
To Nemo,
For many a day
And hopes it will
Be accepted by them.
He would make plans for
Their honeymoon,
And he thought of doing
This very soon,
But was afraid of been
Too rash,
He didn’t want to appear brash,
He might frighten or chase
Neolina away,
And Nemo might follow,
And choose not to stay.
But, Marlin was almost sure
If there was to be bet,
Each of them would admit
How they felt,
And both would burst out and say,
May we get married today!
Nemo our small Casanova,
Had spied Neolina once or twice,
And thought she was
Fabuliciously nice.
Marlin hoped they
Would be ecstatic to say I do,
Get married and have a child
Or a few!
Now we will just have to wait,
To see what will be their fate,
Will Marlins fantasies,
Come true
For these awesome two?

Forty Six Dollars

It was the second Saturday of the month
In the afternoon, before lunch, we made love
It has become our ceremonial sacrament.
I entered her, and I thought,
Does she feel anything?
Beyond my curiosity, it was nice
An out of body experience
Propelling forward
Drawing back
Impaling her like
A surgeon engraves a patient
Making his mark
Just as I made mine.
So many Saturdays
Stealing the purity from
The marriage bed
Attempting to not make evidence
I mounted her
straddling her thighs
Looking at the family photo above the bed
Her horizontal skin adhering to mine
It is odd that I felt this way for her
As I laid on top of her
Ears rubbing
Necks caressing
Bodies uniquely intertwining
like octopuses
fighting over the same boat
We had to stop.
As I quietly left, tucking her under the covers
Leaving my forty-six dollars and fifty-eight cents
On the kitchen counter
for my services and
fresh box of condoms,
Placing the cum filled contraceptive
in her husbands slippers
Knowing he comes home from work tired;
hopefully as tired as I made his wife.

A Mish Mash Mind Jolt

Circular motions of mice dressed in vividly printed mushroom skirts. Could be acronyms for stars. Could bring the brooms to the brooks. Many a flea could clean a flowered stalk. While the emblem of an embroidered teacloth sits quiet in contemplation. Ears are easily drawn onto photographs of lions. It is not the intended job for the ghost yet mitigating circumstances mean that in a league of leaves can boil a great many kettles from rain spittle. Meeting a horned goblin in a shimmering jade field. Long grass. Bulging threatening eyes and large fangs. Nowhere to run from this crouched creature. Mindful of this the needle spins effortlessly producing sounds and in later times on earth a cradle of blue is a safe haven. Speak not of this beastly creation. It survives on fear. So jump into air with style and dance around the tree tops singing to the tiny birds whose flapping cam create harmonious auras. Take not a zebra to a castle to meet a big bear at a banquet. Busy are the peasantry. Take not a goblet to the fish eyed man with the sword. Tailor not a suit of armour for a shrew. And always listen to the harmonics of a lute. Deliver the items then to the vast expanse to the army tents. Canter across the country on an iron bred horse. Missions then. Musically arranged. Forest floor contains great wisdom. As the crone creates a herbal brew to cure all ills. As the curtains in theatres fall. As the wind of night arrives to sweep away penalising judgements and falsities. Then arrives the badgers with books. Hopping heaping hollering hollowed out tree trunks and a sunbathing elephant smiling in contentment. Play not a song of prawns or peas to a cactus plant as it is rare that it will induce changes. Streets of serpent swirl on a snowy day. Misted motions mandatory underground fortresses. Having a pleasant time then? Oh good. Now I will play with my fifteen rabbits, nine sheep, twelve octopuses and my fifty foot pig. Play. Power. Pleasing. Plenty. Part. Xxxx Avenue answering. X.

Sea Sorceress

Oh well and the first time I ever saw you
an Ocean of emotions came crashing down
upon me it was magic by the full moon and
waves off the velveteen sea
You took me by the hand and led me into
the deep somewhere around the Octopuses’
web and the Mermaids liar more than 21,000
leagues under the sea but I was not scared
you took me into your arms and kissed me full
of intoxicating air now I think I'm falling in love
I must be under your spell but oh well what the
hell now who cares about the world above
Could this be Atlantis or the lost Garden of Eden
I don't know but I you’re the sound of your beautiful
voice has me in a trance a full and real dream like
romance, a state of enchanted ecstasy now would
you wanna go back if you were me well I don't wanna
go back no I wanna stay here with you forever now
who cares, who cares about the world above
But then the next thing I knew the sun was shining
down upon me and the white sands well it must of just
been a dream but it couldn't of been a dream because
I see here lying next to me a pearl necklace sparkling
iridescently oh Sea Witch why did you forsake me
I cry out I love you come back, come back as I cross
the sea shore and the light of day turns into night
of starless black a voice arose from the deep and said
you will see me again someday and the next time my
arms will keep you and never let you go again
now I only live for that day when we will come to swim
once again together forever
...Spending every day and every night
waiting and watching desperately
walking along the waves of velveteen
drowning in my misery, lost without you
'cuz now I only live to be one with you
for eternity under the sea...
