my needs are simple
when isolated
from my wants
it took a while
to realize
my many wants
were mere
obstructions
preventing me
from
focusing
on my dreams

Premium Member Will You Think of Me Once In a While

Will you think of me once in a while,
When the tears from your eyelids are trailing,
When they bury me after the trial.

Will you think of me oft with that smile;
When obstructions in life you are scaling,
Will you think of me once in a while

When you pass by the rose garden dial,
Would you think of my love as unfailing,
When they bury me after the trial.

Although distant by many a mile,
Would you treasure this letter I'm mailing;
Will you think of me once in a while.

Bitter thoughts grip my insides like bile,
But I reckon I'll no more be ailing
When they bury me after the trial.

I'll not be there to see you in style;
Please forgive me, my daughter, for failing.
Will you think of me once in a while,
When they bury me after the trial.

Sinew torqued and bowed as he pressed the weight
Of drudge claimed goods to be stacked and stowed.
The lady claimed that his omnipresent proclivities
Would neither build strength of character nor stature.
Laugh, she did, as she knew the wolverine has left the den,
To build his muscle with more willing obstructions.
The starving dog follows the master who feeds him:
And she, the mistress, always leaves flesh on the bone

Submerged In Thought

Submerged in thought, my mind flows.

I'm a majestic river

with all it's curves and bends

running over rocks 'round obstructions

gathering strength and speed.

Above I catch a glimpse of the sun

shimmering off the eye of young cygnet

so white and pure without commitment

calm, loving and carefree

looking to soak up all my nutrients.

to be young once again

with a new chance at love

no fear of what lies beneath the surface.

Making memories forgetting fantasies.

Here I sit lost in thought

about life and love

trials and pain

blessings and destinies.

Premium Member A Mother's Sorrow

I can't see past rain and sleet
All's obscured beyond two feet
I can't see a road or trail
Through this harsh and blinding hail

I can't see obstructions near
In time to safely steer us clear
Can this heater keep us warm
Through this nasty winter storm

I can hardly sit and steer
Kids and great dane interfere
This is driving me crazy!
This is driving me crazy!

I can't see to safely drive
Dear, I hope we all survive
Dear, the car is acting odd
Dear, I hope it's not a rod

The road is packed with ice and snow
That is why I'm driving slow
I must stay alert and drive
So that we can stay alive

I've become a mom of woe
Weaving helpless through this snow
O! no, I can hardly see!
Weather, weather blinding me!

I think that I shall sigh a sigh
A gas station just passed us by
I will quickly turn right here
I see no policeman near

O! how timely gas tank dry
Now we've got a fresh supply
My energy has fled and gone
We're nearly home so let's press on.

Premium Member Crossroads of Life

Oh look who toils up yonder hill
Of shoulders stooped and slow of gait
Garments hang off a frame once filled
The body drips with yesterday’s fate

An existence once filled with hate and greed
Ensnared in a mind of ego sense
Attachments and illusions that once took seed
In man’s entrapment - in a fog so dense

Look how he persists to reach the roads
Crawling now in dust and sweat
Unshackling life’s chains as he goes
His saving grace - his terrestrial death

Facing his crossroads - flawed Ego he must lose
A formidable tempt in earthly men
Freeing mental obscuration he must choose
A transcendental state to reach his Zen

Oh look who runs down yonder hill
A liberated awakening for all to see
Freed from dark paths he once did travel
Oh aligned Soul - you are now set free

Footnote - The precepts of the peaceful Dalai Lama, is that Buddhism is not a religion but a way of life.

This is an explanation of Tibetan Buddhism, enlightenment and spiritual rebirth.

Buddhahood is defined as a state free of the obstructions to liberation as well as those to omniscience. When one is freed from all mental obscuration, one is said to attain a state of continuous bliss mixed with a simultaneous cognition of emptiness, the true nature of reality.

In this state, all limitations on one's ability to help other living beings are removed.

Emotional Abuse

Within the confines of the prison
Lies an abandoned soul
He’s looking through the shattered prism
For emotions to take hold

He’s searching for the pain and pleasure
To acquire a human form
Within the exploration
Begins the evil storm

Security is distant
And melancholy strikes
The victim is resistant
And hides his saddened eyes

The sense of self is broken
The roles are undefined
A place of isolation
In a lost and cluttered mind

Intolerable injustice
Insufferable grief
Unbearable confusion
In answers that he seeks

Reclaiming the connection
Is his essential feat
He must untangle cobwebs
That frame over his deceit

Obstructions are arising
And trust is growing dim
There gathers disappointment
The outlook being grim

His only expectation
Must come from unity
And gathered from a viewpoint
Of sensibility

Oh, rise up our hero
And care for your own self
You’ll come out of destruction
And cease this torturous hell….

Life Stages of a River

Rain falls on granite.
Glaciers unwind.
Snowflakes decrystallize.
A murmuring stream collects,
in the confluence of the melt.

A river is born.

Her banks expand.
Nutrients collect in the torrent.
Rocks tumble in the frothy white water.
Speed and power intensify,
with the reshaped swell of common elements.

A river grows.

Transformation is slow and muddy.
Men build obstructions,
harness the river with turbines.
Irrigation canals siphon liquid gold for crops.
Barges navigate goods over current.

A river is tamed.

Sediments build in the depths.
Reflections dominate.
A serene shoreline nurtures abundance.
The hasty flow has noticeably slowed.
Every mile traveled increases breadth of verity.

A river ages.

Some vanish with anonymity in vast deserts.
Others clash violently into endless seas.
A few form rich, braided deltas.
Inland lakes, without drainage, capture some.
Geologists and children are in agreement.

All rivers end………

Sudden stops
    and small obstructions
Hinder progress for a bit,
But the vast store of alternatives
Make their presence known.
Unseen entities
    also have been stationed within
Inspirational distances,
All their myriad forms
    in their garments fine,
Find openings to seep through
     into my contemporary
Sphere of knowledge.

He took his place in cassock clad.
The yearning unchecked, her chances slim
The veil she clasped around her head
She knelt at the box where light fell dim
Confessing the love she had for him.

The choice was made and rings changed hands
Obstructions and doubts were shoved aside.
In upstairs room the wardrobe stands
Where parts of his life discretely hide
Limp cassock for years has hung inside.

Take Me To Turks: My Vacation Nation

this place, such a reprieve
I am held without speech--
heaven's clouds Float aloft
like white Foam Froth atop
Fresh morning cappuccino

my chamber, allows comfort
obstructions lifted like air--
open Windows brush inside
Wondrous Whispers of life
the breath of a Wooden villa

I step outside, more to find
a path leading to artful vista--
my steps Collect tiny souvenirs
grey Cobblestone Chaperones
showing me the way to Caprice

as I arrive, my dry eyes glass
the ocean! same as my dreams--
a world of Boundless essence
comforting me like Baby Blue's
a salty spa for Bellicose angst

I bend at the nape, a world above
trees of palm, the kiss of the sun--
draping Leaves sway in the wind
green canopies full of Lush Luster
a tickle of heat petting at my Lips

I never wish to leave, my sand oasis
stone skin combed down to fluff--
memories Preserved on heart walls
Precious Prose etched in them all
a snow globe of beach'y Perfection

Take me to Turks, let's fly Tonight!
as my guest, you'll enjoy the spoils--
where oligarchies begin to Topple
gasping at our Threshold, Tumbling
wildly from their golden Thrones

Take me to Turks, let's fly Tonight!
for when I'm there--
I am King

The Sea of Life

The journey is infant and the waters are calm
the boat is carried on soft waves as if sailing on a child's palm
as the sounds of peaceful streams sends a newborn to sleep.

The boat makes way as the child slumbers
a fresh mind kept in the oceans trance begins to dream and wonder
resting, unbeknownst as the vessel slips into a mist.

Now the child wakes up as a youth,
opening eyes to a fog of illusions and truth.
Distraught and confused but taking the ship and beginning to stir.

All the obstacles are shrouded in mystery
as the boat stumbles and brings worries and misery,
the youth is lost and is subdued to the sea's leer.

But after spending years in a vapor steaming with obstructions
the youth has begun to familiarize and find way through its restrictions
as a physique that has come of age emerges from the smoke.

Sailing with a new found grip, a mind learned and clear.
A will to bend storms and ripe the glory even out of fear.
Now a fragile conscious ascends into desire that runs amok.

Now with a daring soul to challenge the roaring sea
soaring to the crests with high waves of ambitions released
The pinnacle of the ocean, this new life seeks to reach.

The spirit lived as an unaware stowaway
wandered as a lost sailor
now leads as a captain of ones own ship, whose spirit nothing can breach.

And as the leader scales the known seas,
attaining all the desires one can believe,
satisfaction gleams into a smile but the handles become loose and spirit steep.

As the journey becomes old,
and the waters have finally settled down
as the sounds of peaceful streams sends a worn out captain to sleep.

The Rhyme of the Mother Earth

Mother gives birth to them
Earth gives food, shelter
Mother, earth both are same
Important ever and ever,

A little, they respect mother
Much disrespect the earth
Its animals, trees, water, air
They need, eat, drink, breathe,

They take them opponent
Like snakes, bears, hyenas
They kill, cut, burn, pollute
Even with poisoned weapons,

Using engineering technique
They clear forests and hills
To pave for the road in quick
They make a lot of cash bills,

By one side of the large forest
The road has crease crossed
Like snake that has come out
By other side being succeeded,

The animals can never bear
Which disturbs living them freely
Often killed small ones where
The big are feared seriously,

One day an angry elephant
Suddenly attacks a big car
There two men are injured and
The car is just broken before,

Then more men come with gun
Horribly begin ceaseless fire,
Killing, hunting, ancientsome
Crying, oh! No more, no more,

Everyday they cut, burn trees
Kill birds, animals randomly
In air the heat waves increase
Pollute environment rapidly,

The trees are great property
With branch, leaf, fruit, flower
Trees, plants in community
Produce food and climate here,

In nature each bird is a beauty
In size, color also in feather
Groups of birds form diversity
Enhance beauty and feature,

Each animal does task great
To form the world just properly
Most of humans harm that
Playing roles great foolishly,

They pollute seriously air, water
Spread minor, major disease
Using patrol, diesel, coal, tar
Cause poisonous gas increase,

 Rainbow is a heavenly beauty
With light, huge drops of water
Countless drops have the unity
To form pond, lake, ocean, river,

Everywhere humans now abuse
The pond, lake, ocean, river
Unwisely with pollution in huge
To recover these never, never,

They run on overall destructions
Violet carbon and eco-system
No harmony but obstructions
All together fatal dose outcome,

One day there will be no tree
No bird, no animal in nature
Humans will be quite sense free
Losing all the bows and feature.
