Blessings and Destiny

Submersed in thought, my mind flows. I'm a majestic river with all it's curves and bends running over rocks and around obstructions gathering strength and speed. Above I catch a glimpse of the sun shimmering off the eye of a young cygnet So white and so pure without commitment calm, loving and carefree looking to soak up all my nutrients. Oh to be young once again with a new chance at love no fear of what lies beneath the surface. Making memories forgetting fantasies. Here I sit lost in thought about life and love trials and pain blessings and destiny

This poem is so beautiful - the river flowing, the sunshine and life. I cannot rightly explain how this one is so real to me.

If you cant be young, at least get some new body parts!! Seriously, Tim, this poem is so beautiful, is hard to comment sometimes, as some poems you just get and like and are at a loss for words, this is a fav!

I wouldn't be young again, Tim. Sure, one thinks about things, but you've got a pretty good river now - you really want to risk exchanging it? No way it could be like that anyway, it'd be "something for nothing." I wouldn't return to an earlier age, not for all the tea in China. Couldn't get all that tea together anyway.

There are times when we all think, "If only I had the chance to go back..." Perhaps we'd make different choices, but those choices could've led us to a place where we'd be less the person that we are now. We take so much that we have for granted, so let's be thankful for the blessings that we have. Our children make life so much more worth the living. Don't think so much, Tim. Just live life!

Often I have these same feelings but then I do take the time to inventory my many blessings and think, I'm not so bad off after all. Nicely expressed and beautifully written Tim.

I agree with Charmaine. Your mind can take you soaring around obstructions or give you glimpses of what lies in the dark waters below, but your loving heart will always take you back home to your children who will keep you young:) Amitiés

Your children will always keep you young at heart Tim..and that is what counts.Sometimes thinking too much of the past or wishing to go there..or even thinking a lot about the future will help us loose enjoying the present...And its never too late for new beginnings in life...Every day another chapter.Really enjoyed reading your pensive thoughts.Tomorrow I wont be home..so wont be able to read poetry...but today I will enjoy it..Its my little break time now.

I love this pensive introspective poem, with its imagery of nature (love cygnets). Beautiful, my friend.
