Will You Think of Me Once In a While

Will you think of me once in a while,
When the tears from your eyelids are trailing,
When they bury me after the trial.

Will you think of me oft with that smile;
When obstructions in life you are scaling,
Will you think of me once in a while

When you pass by the rose garden dial,
Would you think of my love as unfailing,
When they bury me after the trial.

Although distant by many a mile,
Would you treasure this letter I'm mailing;
Will you think of me once in a while.

Bitter thoughts grip my insides like bile,
But I reckon I'll no more be ailing
When they bury me after the trial.

I'll not be there to see you in style;
Please forgive me, my daughter, for failing.
Will you think of me once in a while,
When they bury me after the trial.

I was moved by this unique write. The story was very sad, yet tender, as well. I am not familiar with the form of villanelle. But, I thought the rhyming was perfect and the words flowed so easily. A great poem, Isaiah!...Thank you so much for the kind comments, and for adding my poem to your favorites! :)
