Premium Member It Matters Not

It hovers here, a moon opaque,
obscuring mountain trails I take.
No other living things appear.
A moon opaque. . . It hovers here.

I follow on along a ledge;
below a swirling river’s edge.
In front of me, the canyon’s yawn.
Along a ledge, I follow on.

I see no hue when fog congeals.
Oh, doom of one who no more feels!
The moon has fled, as so have you.
When fog congeals, I see no hue.

Now all is dim; it matters not.
My dear one’s heart I have not got.
No use in living without him.
It matters not. Now all is dim.

At peace I’ll be if I should fall
to murky water from this wall.
Oh, yawning canyon, swallow me.
If I should fall, at peace I’ll be.

~ATLANTIS~ Featuring:) Kelly Deschler

-------
Can't be re-written by the Gods
The land and sands of time'
Destroyed by the fire of Poseidon's curse
Atlantis swallowed by: Earth
--------

In one day and one night
Peaceful existence met its end
Built on a volcano, now surrounded by ancient rippled tears
Lava stripped apart the rich and glorious empire
Enriched by Engineers and Architects whom loved power more than the Gods
Forgotten souls, sheltered by a watery grave
History withheld from shallow sunken memories,
Western sky's hide the truth, a vision from the Pillars of Hercules
"An island situated in front of The Strait of Gibraltar"
Ghostly ruins wait to rise above the Mediterranean and Atlantic Waves
A magical island held down by the hands of death,
~
Atlantis lost city walls ---a secret hidden by mermaids
Partially buried, beneath the ocean floor it lies
The largest sunken treasure never to be found
Magnificent pillars of an imperial palace still stand
Somewhere hidden under ancient sand
Some are leaning against turrets, that toppled after the impact
Nothing human will ever inhabit these walls
No feet will ever touch these staircases, again
Only an eerie silence now resides here, with the blue-green waters
Seaweed grows along it's outer walls, like ivy on a trellis.
Obscuring it even further from the human eye.
~
Other ocean tides will never compare
Tantalizing blend of fantasy and mystery
Stone walls covered with precious gems
 -Listen to PLATO'S voice-
"Look close, Look close, into the sea!"
Through the light and Pillars of Hercules
Some where out there buried in the vast
ATLANTIS THE PARADISE

Premium Member Snow Falling

Snow falling—
Falling.
Feathers escaping from the pillow-heaven
Confusing the air
With the steadiness of a stampede
Advancing, clinging, smothering.

Snow falling—
Settling.
White fleecy lambs atop every protrusion
Sleek ermine boas
Draped upon the naked arms of nature
Bare of their green velvet capes.

Snow falling—
Drifting.
The spatula of wind
Smoothing mounds of marshmallow frosting
Billowy swirls
Of whipped immaculate splendor.

Snow falling—
Burying.
Obscuring the drab tired earth
Her deep wounds of time
Dissolving shadows of other seasons
That Spring may arise again.

Premium Member Silhouette of the Night

Witching hour is upon us
Dusky clouds, falling, swirling
Obscuring the crescent moon
Skeleton fingered branches
Beckoning me in the wind
As I creep past the grave stones
To my final resting place

Painting With Stardust

From night to night
I searched in a distant sky
To catch a falling star
To collect its silver dust
which fell ever so slow
upon the life-lines of my hand-palm.
From night to night
I searched with these ardent eyes
for ways to paint you a dream
made from diamond shards
of a glistening beam.
But from night to night
the moon in it's grandeur would show
filtering its opalescent glow
through the bedroom blinds
reflecting its amorous lights
Outwashing every short-lived star
 I ever yearned to seek
Obscuring other sparkles
 with its lucent shine.
Blinding me in hundred ways
Holding me captive in his embrace.
But tonight,is a different night
Tonight its lunar limbs are cloaked
with a mourning veil.
Tonight I dance without its shadows
and in its darkness I exhale .
Tonight I paint with stardust
I sprinkle kisses from coppered-flames
Forgetting all about the moonrise
while I think only about your face.

Premium Member Hibiscus Haven

I want to swim in the golden rivers
of your heavenly haven,
wading through every swirl and twirl flowing in splendiferous streams.
Taste of your warmth courses down ruffles within my ribs,
pulsating your name in assonant motions.

In your moonlit eyes I’ve found the lost poem,
missing from my once hollow heart.
You are the metaphorical master,
with a plethora of poetic keys,
deciphering hieroglyphics syllables,
ceaselessly obscuring vehement vanity,
endured through violent torrents of torment.

In your arms I found a euphonious sanctuary,
calming stormy edges from a malignant abyss,
there I saw grey on silvery nights,
until you breathed poetry into my fingertips.

Words began to bloom amongst
deep ruby wine dahlias,
where seasons never wilt internal imagination.

I still remember the night we embraced a new year,
as fireworks lit up the highest mountains between us.
Revealing incandescent morning stars,
with your infectious smile,
I knew then, you were the acrylic home
I was sketching on sunflower panoramas.

In your voice I've already seen spring,
sowing seeds of hibiscus promises,
hydrating delicate dreams—
drifting with withering ferns and flowers,
imprinted from roots of fate,
ascending mauve memories to cloud nine,
where clipped feathers attain nirvana,
to love until the sun burns into ashes.

Premium Member Winter Has Stolen the Night

Winter has stolen the night,
A world I have always known,
is lost in a blanket of snow, ....
                       with recognition adrift, and thrown
tossed away in the endless white

I gaze over landscapes, whitewashed in the moonlight
Strange bittersweet etchings of silver starlight

Trees reaching high, with wild naked limbs,
Each branch empty handed, their twigs opened wide
grasping for snow flakes...or something to find
Something familiar, that's been left behind

Drifts growing higher, while icicles glimmer
distorting the mirrors of stars from the night

I know that the moon is hiding, somewhere,
caught in the winter's snow of sleep
Bemused are the clouds while obscuring the light,
disguising the image we once knew at sight

My world flickers dim, bleaching the ground,
Taking my breath, until all words are gone

I cannot recall, I cannot rewind, all the old music that I've known so well

I strain to hear where summer dwelled, too thin to be recalled
Where all the autumn leaves once fell
Where seasons green wore flowered hills

They must disappear, with each thing we have known,
Bleached by the moon, until they are pale
Stars then will spin, and seasons will dim

But, then all the reasons for believing begins ....

Winter has stolen the night, tonight, and the world I've always known
                is
                   l
                    o
                      s
                        t
.... in the sparkling snow, adrift in the timeless wind.

Premium Member Sin - 1

Sin is a disease that destroys from
The darkness where it lingers
Always taunting us in the shadows
Of bitterness and dread, sinister
And haunting, calling out to the soul
For just a little more of its hope
Until all hope has been lost
And even faith and love are gone

Sin is ugly and angry and hateful
It prides itself on taking away
All the light that caresses a life
And stealing even the memories
Of laughter and joy, fulfillment
Found in colors of love breathing
Through a heart, whispering gently
Truth, inspiration and contentment

Sin is black and murky, obscuring itself
In the silhouettes of revulsion, disgust
That clings to the underbelly of evil
Thrusting its tentacles into corruption
Pleading with wickedness to continue
Producing sorrow and pain and regret
Remorse that remembers only the hues
Of somber gray that left a heart in fear

Sin is furious when it’s discovered
And called upon to make itself known
To become a sin that is manifested
And adorned with the sacred blood
From the One who died to cleanse
Free the slave from the sinning
And release the captive with forgiveness
Absolution, pardon, clemency
Bought and paid for by the Son
Who died on calvary and rose up again
On the third day… to finally say

Our sin is under the blood
Forgiven, we can seek God’s approval
Shun the darkness and begin again
To live in the light, where we can be seen
As a child of God, beloved and covered
By grace that has given us all the chance
To live for Jesus and enter heaven’s sanctuary
Eternally blessed – a child of the best
God’s grace is sufficient to save our souls
Allowing His love to make us whole

Ephesians 2:8-9
King James Version

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Premium Member While I Gaze In Your Eyes

While I gaze in your eyes, cool cerulean blue,
Sifting night, straining stars through morning’s sweet dew,
I can fathom the depths of empyreal skies,
Angels fluttering by, riding wild butterflies

While I gaze in your eyes, changing, aqua-blue greening,
I’m sucked into chasms, cascading, careening,
And yield to enticements which meekly disarm,
Seeping virtuous beauty, sad sensuous charm

While I gaze in your eyes, bleeding fiery blue
Ever tempting with treasures, with pleasures for two,
Being caught at the core of a blazing sapphire
Possessing, enthralling, aflame with desire

While I gaze in your eyes, misty emeralds, deep green,
Veiling laughter and banter, and echoes between,
Then I dream, so it seems, in whatever the place,
Of your scent, of your breath, of your radiant face

While I gaze in your eyes, at times placidly blue,
Near’ as calm as the weirs in the woods all bedewed,
Forty winks relegate to a shimmering lake,
Gently floating on lilies, while waiting to wake

While I gaze in your eyes, caught engulfed in the greens
And consigning my fate unto verdant ravines,
My reactions, at length, become shyer and shyer
Reminiscent of ravens at risk in the briar

While I gaze in your eyes, restless, hesitant blues
Overwhelming sensations with turbulent hues,
I’m succumbing to waves of a storm battered sea,
Being cast like a plank, never meant to be free

While I gaze in your eyes, shadowed, Midnight Lake green
Glowing hazy with dreams, misty thoughts so serene,
Sudden silence befalls me, a fast sinking stone,
Looming lost in your eyes, I am never alone

While I gaze in your eyes, saddened, lachrymal blue,
Spilling trickles of rain, pearls obscuring your view,
I’ll attend to your anguish and feelings morose,
Lightly kissing your tears, touching, holding you close

While I gaze in your eyes, pulsing infinite green
Of the earth and of heaven and all in between,
It is simple to see that my hands can hold all
Of the treasures I find which so humbly enthral

While I gaze in your eyes, when they’re bountifully blue,
I’m reminded, love’s lightning is granted to few...

While I gaze in your eyes, when they’re blindingly green,
I’m reminded, love’s lightning cannot be foreseen...

Yet I hope... and I wait...

Premium Member A Fairy Fun Day

Where mountains fade to valley shade
And trees give way to meadow's blade
Cottony cattail, wild lilies teem
Obscuring an enchanted stream

Tis there amongst the grassland rue
This tiny fairy village grew
I will not say just where they stay
And risk perchance they fly away

It was by chance or happenstance
We crashed a friendly fairy dance
We got derailed and left the trail
Looking for some swallowtails

Can you imagine our surprise
 Fairies dancing with butterflies
They welcomed us and made a fuss
We danced with them and gained their trust

Our day was done, we'd had our fun
We said "goodbye" thanked every one
Then headed back to find our trail
Took home with us, this fairy tale.

Premium Member Shadows At Night

Powder puff clouds drift in dark dusky sky
Obscuring the moonbeams way up high
Murky shadows dance upon the street
Unnerving passers-by as they meet

Skeletal winter branches wave their fingers
in swirling grey mist, see how it lingers
I hurry past as the shadows frighten me
Their ghostly forms are plain to see

Bright moon peeps round and brings me light
Its shining face is such a reassuring sight
Creepy shadows are slowly diminished
My midnight walk will soon be finished

I hurry home as the shadows slink away
They will rest now and return another day
As soon as dawn breaks, the eerie shadows die
Bright golden sun will illuminate the sky

Premium Member A Gold Doubloon

As twilight's shifting shadows slowly merge,
dusk extinguishes all lingering light.
And a spray of twinkling stars lights the night;
when the blackness of space and night converge.

Indigo skies morph into ebony
as a dying sun bleeds on snow-capped rocks.
And time is tethered to inpatient clocks;
that pause to behold this transcendency.

A curtain of misty clouds starts to form,
obscuring mountains behind veils of white.
And darkness descends as eagles take flight
over a landscape; that night will transform.

Silence rebuffs the creatures of the dark;
scurrying from the light of the full moon.
And Luna rises like a gold doubloon;
above a gnarled oak tree with gilded bark.

Premium Member Beware the Fireworks of Joy

Beware the Fireworks of Joy

It’s 9:30am
It’s Saturday
The winds of time have changed
Smoke is obscuring the future
Of a nation of dreamers.
Nightfall is lost.
In a darkness of righteous rhetoric
Toothless dragons spewing flameless fire
Exhale the remains of previous failures
In noxious nuances of hope’s lunacy.
Daybreak is muted in the gray pall
Of hatred’s hangover
Coating the pond in anger’s angst
Banning the flight of migratory species
Coating the lily pads in distant dust.
Time is meaningless to those
Who speak of “when”
For past and present are
And are not. And yet
They must be joined
By the now, in the now,
Or they will be condemned
To a never changing present.
Science has proved
And disproved itself
Erred in its “infallible” wisdom
Swept the detritus of its denial
Into the graveyards and landfills
While claiming innocence and immunity.
Beware the fireworks of joy
For they may ignite
The spark of a rebellion.

Premium Member True Loneliness

If He ever left me, I would be so lost
Without a hope or chance,
No prospects, no promises or potentials
Without even expectation or anticipation
I’d be so very lost, without aspiration
It would be my finish!

If He ever went away, beyond my faith
Where I couldn’t feel His love
Sense His amazing grace – know His ways
Were there to soothe away my doubts
Encourage and enlighten, fill me with insight
Without His love, I’d be living in the dark
Shadows all around me, obscuring my dreams
Concealing the light that might mean
I’d find my way out of the despair, the dread
The fears that tell me He has truly left me

If He ever let me go, without His courage
I would only know that I couldn’t go on,
I couldn’t find the purpose in living my life
Being His child, finding my way out of strife
I couldn’t feel the wonder of His grace
The joy and inspiration in His sweet embrace
I couldn’t understand what it means to give
Without expectation, with a love that surely lives
Inside my soul, where His light shines serenity

If He ever left me alone, without a sincere prayer
I know that I would know what it is to fear, truly fear
The solitude, the isolation, the seclusion
Being without the One who is my Master
My Savior, my Creator – the One who lights
The heart and soul, with a light of pure love
With a light that shines brighter than the stars
Kindness, gentleness, fulfillment – sincerity
Assuring my dreams and awaking inside me
Life that is burning with genuine appreciation…

For the One who made a way out of no way
The One who brought His grace to remind me
He will never let me go – He will always love me so
That I can count on Him in every way – His promise
His gift to those who believe – is the gift of unending peace
The gift of a love that frees and completes, breathes
Faith and hope, the wonder of His light abiding within
Forever guiding and reminding – His love will not end
His love will be with me until I am with Him in eternity!

Hebrews 13:5 (KJV) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Premium Member God's Embrace

Wrap your heart around the beautiful
Calming, soothing – in hues of joy,
Hope like nothing on earth can destroy…
Gentling the doubts, the confusion
With light that abides in the breathless
Portrayal of love, secreted in spirits
Who know that His life was the model
For our existence, our faith – our inspiration
Silencing worry and blessing with grace

Remember the moment when He smiled,
Speaking peace through your life,
Engaging your dreams with His encouraging
Stirring up passions, humbling, stunning
Miracles preventing the darkness
From obscuring the promises, the wishes
The everlasting peace, sweet serenity
Who abides inside the hearts, the minds
The souls of those who hear Him
When His voice trembles, echoing belief

Religion can never grasp the wonder
Love this alive, this electrifying – enlivening
Is more potent, more powerful, more mighty
Than any pleasure, any thrill, any desire…
This is love that is more than real – it is Him
The One who warms the spirit with joy,
Heartens the nature of those who adore Him,
Erases the temptations and revives the soul
With inspiration that bleeds through every fear,
Urging hearts to love beyond what we know…
With a love that only He can control – love
That is the author of my joy, the creator of my
Hope – the wisdom that I know is always
More brilliant than anything I might force

His love is the reason that I can honestly say
I know what it means to believe in grace
That is so wonderful it feels like –
 God’s embrace!
