Night of Aurora
Dance of Life -
Night of Aurora before the midnight sun,
Before the polar threshold of the daystar,
As Aurora’s swirling spirals flicker
In winsome purple-green electric flashes,
Dappled spectral neon scarves
From nighttide’s celestial dust,
Dance of barefoot soul bewitched -
Arrayed in fiery folds of scarlet-red
Leaps from star to star
When snow buntings chant
Artic serenades with her melody
As silence falls in silver solitude
Of flashing silent symphonies
Across philharmonic fantasies –
Dance of the artic
Beauty in diaphanous neon,
Ephemeral bursts of celestial streamers
Surge from astral pavilions,
Splash in sheer waves of gossamer mauve,
When lavender prisms pirouette
In charged rhapsodies over the fair isles
With sweeping pirouettes
Dance of the ancestors –
Ethereal ribbon dance in cascading rainbows
To tell tidings of sonorous harmony
From those released past the limits of the sky
They wear kaleidoscopes of happy hues
While Aurora dances a tarantella to say
She rejoices too.

I stand as if one grain of sand among billions unseen
as the force of life's storms wash over me
with the same tantamount as this ocean
lashing out against the shore
battered, bloodied, ever changing
yet breathing with the same rhythm
as these waves coming in and out
I watch the horizon bleed
at nighttide as it swallows the sun whole
watching inquisitively at the beauty
with the same curiosity as a child's eyes
peering out for the first time
never questioning the grandeur
as the moon emerges
from the same depths
as the sinking sun
i wish upon a shooting star
clasp my hands on bended knee
then pray as this salty spray reaches my lips
yet i cavil his existence in sorrow
as i kiss the lips of death

Star of David
Ah!
These
stars, for
they all seem
to wedge the whole
nighttide tract of our perpetual sphere's vaulted ceiling, that
lingers on their ambiguous tethered strings, consumed
by a grand dark expanse beyond where imagination
lays their vast secrets, and inspirations dares a
peek, while aspirant souls ventures a quest to
scope a noble claim, and bestowed a fame but,
beware for a twinkle will cause one to blink, for 'twas
an alternate reality, one that is earthbound perchance be a
different sort of star
'twas saved, dates
from past, a gift
be his name

Sapphic stanza
Well, then hit me with your best shot ?
Truth is we're just a breath away from this
Your gray grim day, part two: summon the kings
Tis urgent hurry please bring me my ancient armour
That their pagans can pray as consecrate an age's final fate
Elijah, crossing time beckoning fire and flames paving, Love's day....
Stand tall go proud, Freddie Kruger: You see all this glory it's, kingdoms: Remember,
....Dreamscape's, nighttide nightmare.

as nighttide settles
like calm seas
her backdrop
becomes your stage
old thoughts
sneak
like shadows
against mind's walls
i spin beneath
demonic haunts
as your words
fall
rage-red
winded fury
on burial grounds
already full
of little deaths
i gasp
through short breaths
and utter your name
as etched
on each stone
soaked
with morning
i rise
and remember
this dance

Montana skies
at nighttide
drips with stars
trailed by crimson showers
beneath the clouded hue
of the milky way
alabaster tips
of mountains
stand like shadows
almost touching
the backdrop of night
aglow in the blush
momentarily
I stand
in the stillness
of my own actions
the same as them
casting shadows
like wishes
on the streamers
of falling stars
as they fade
in the distance
I feel
the expansion
of my own dreams
dissipate within the air
of night's veiled breath
as I sigh
at the beauty
contained within
Montana's skies

It was many and many a year ago
In a kingdom by the sea.
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;---
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
She was a child and I was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea.
But we loved with a love that was more than love---
I and my Annabel Lee---
With a love that the winged seraphs of Heaven
Coveted her and me.
And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud by night
Chilling my Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsmen came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulcher
In this kingdom by the sea.
The angels, not half so happy in Heaven,
Went envying her and me:---
Yes! that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of a cloud, chilling
And killing my Annabel Lee.
But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we---
Of many far wiser than we---
And neither the angels in Heaven above
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my Soul from the Soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.
For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I see the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the nighttide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride,
In her sepulcher there by the sea---
In her tomb by the side of the sea.

Mom's photo album (in the attic, somewhere?)
Ah! Found it by an overdue book (from a library, somewhere?)
There's mom with a Mountie (in Canada, somewhere?)
Mom by a natural spring (in Maine, somewhere?)
Mom in the kitchen (at Aunt's, somewhere?)
Mom is saluted, holds a folded flag (Vietnam memorial, somewhere?)
Mom at the church (outside, somewhere?)
Mom playing the church piano (inside, somewhere?)
Mom waves her hands by a sea (in Israel, somewhere?)
Mom eating souvlaki (in Greece, somewhere?)
Mom on a double-decker bus (in London, somewhere?)
Mom and the grandkids (in Honolulu, somewhere?)
I know there's more of mom's albums (in the house, somewhere?)
I'll finish this cake, whilst looking at pictures, until the nighttide bears, for this day is her birthday, and I know that she's with dad and they both are smiling, --from somewhere in Heaven, up there.

Thinking of Whitney Houston for some reason ?
Her beautiful voice like flowers in your hair rising....
Acappella and such a strange vibration; people in motion
Spirits, love's potion ? Nay these altars nor volcanos; sacrificial
Blades their children ghostly gods they chant; pin stripped podiums
Cauldrons a watchful brew poison ivy garments beating drums nighttide
Jungles sand dune dreams his Amazon sleeps, tonight ? Don't walk away she sings..
Gossamer wings the golden gate, and I don't want to cry anymore ? A kiss for love We, smile.

it's the midnight hour
as i watch the rise and fall
of your breath blend
in peerless harmony
within the cicada's song
i twirl along
in secluded mind
where thoughts fall
faded like shadows
beneath moon's lambent light
remembrance comes
in winded breaths
as i recall
the camber of your body
pressed against mine
in the soft melodies
of nighttide
the endless tempo
with bated breaths
in stepless dances
between young lovers
the smile
with the glow
of a thousand stars
gleaming back
in brilliance
now paling
in fragmented
flickers
of clouded mind
the chirr of bed
as you shift
closer to the edge
leaves me wondering
is this love enough
to keep me grounded
in the distance
laid between us

Ode To The Hourglass
E'er spent in the margin of its clutch of us,
We breathe its granules in nighttide befallen,
Wanderers adrift campaign design to thus,
Daytime withdrawal of star hole we crawl in,
Be of that horizon art great plentitude,
A minuscule scope be a grand solitude,
The vast separateness, still, purposed value,
Withal, dissolve in its depths, I and shall you,
Sands prey unto gravitational split palm,
smattering contributions from character,
exfoliates abruptly the sedate calm,
genteel indiscernible that surrender,
the retired bit is given in chambered rest,
that visualness measuring of time's quest,
allowing the said duties of weightiness,
do the essential action of sublimeness.

"The eternal rhythms of daily life sit on the edge of the future.
Reaching back through the centuries, you can feel the approaching chill
of modern minds."
The timeless spirit of truth had its dim beginnings
in ancient hearts and it is written
in the memories of our earliest ancestors.
Chaotic patterns, left in the wake of the half-truths
and lies of progress, are a bitter legacy.
Too late, we find our days of innocence have melted away
like a snowflake in the warmth of a child's eager cheek. .
When the constant motion of our days is frustrated
by reality, we are left to book slow passage
back to courage, to facing the truth of ourselves
in the mirror of expectations. We travel alone
under the blanket of a moonless nighttide .
For the dust of ages belies dawns overdue promise
of a September blue.
