FOREVER LOVE
Margie........my one and only........Margie
love's music echoes timeless
spring fed it flows forever
Pop would get up early, make Mom's hand-mixed
favorite black and green tea, and when ready,
he walked down the hallway tinkling her teacup
with a spoon, gently waking her.
When he came home each day
he'd whistle the tune......
"Margie......how I love you ......"
alerting her that he was near.
On occasion, his mood would be jubilant
upon arriving home,
whistling......
"Sweet.....Georgia.....Brown!"
just like his favorite basketball team,
The 'Harlem Globetrotters'
Mom was Dad's whole world,
I could hear his expectant excitement
in the tone of his remarkable whistling
whenever I pushed him down the hallway
in his wheelchair, knowing his one and only
lifelong love would soon be in sight.
He couldn't mix and brew her favorite tea
anymore, or wake her with her tinkling teacup,
but until the end, he could still whistle!
.....and man!
could he whistle!

I’m sorry Auntie that your love is now lost
You survived and feel all alone
The pressures in life you must endure
For your children are now grown
We went and paid our last respects
Viewed his lifeless body , gave our last kiss
Your life with him has now come to an end
Your marriage was full of laughter and bliss
He died to soon you must think
Twenty-three years was not very long
We shed our tears and said good-bye
Why I know you ask this is so wrong
He led a good life, you had a chance to be his wife
You will miss his smiles
You will miss his sense of humor
But remember he walked many miles
Don’t think of him as gone away
A new journey he has just begun and he’s in peace
In a place of warmth and comfort
I know your pain will never cease
Days will come and days will go
Dry your tears
For he’s better now, no more pain
Remember he’s an angel now with no more fears

A Mermaid or In Response to Poem of the Day
There was a maiden that they called a miracle
Containing emphatic data defined by empirical
But to measure her beauty was hard to use
So we had to come up with a perfect excuse.
Even though lingering lights did become dim
Along with all other poets happened to them
Wits were without and many may have known
Pictures and personalities were caste in stone.
This was when we soon started and realized
They were all beyond belief and unrecognized
Found out only one receiving a passing grade
Was Margie the miracle who became a mermaid.

James Thomas Horn, Retired Veteran
I feel that you took everything I was and left me a shell,
I need to say thankyou for that and goodbye as well.
You see, I am Margie 2.0 now and it feels great,
Stronger, wiser, better for it I’m not feeling any hate.
I’ll never regret a thing I refuse to ever look back.
And look through the eyes of regret at what I lack.
Thanks again because of you I’m able to upgrade,
My love for you is the only part of me that stayed,
But that love for you wasnt healthy please understand.
One day you’ll see that and unclench your hand.
I dont believe that theres ever a wrong path,
It is what is look to the future not the past.
I wish you could see things from my point of view,
And treat everyday as a chance to recreate a new.
Don’t ever doubt that the universe has a plan,
That you wont always come to understand.
I really wish you the best from the bottom of my heart,
Your happiness really is all I ever wanted from the start.
When you look at me, my heart begins to float.
All the world seems bright and gay.
There's not another one could take your place.
You make me happy, when skys are grey!
I can't give you anything but love, baby.
Let me hear you whisper, that you love me too.
Put your arms around me honey, hold me tight.
Let me call you sweetheart, I'm in love with you.
When I'm in your fond embrace,
the sun comes shining thru.
You've been my inspiration,
days are never blue.
If I had Aladdin's lamp for only a day,
I'd make a wish, and here's what I'd say.
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,
please don't take my sunshine away!

The essence and electricity of love fills my every living cell. Despite the darkness that surrounds my guarded positives, this mystic energy holds vibes within my soul. Infused with compassion and benevolence, humanity silently cries out loud voices of despair, hunger for what is freely given yet humanity puts a price on it. Facing the trials of life giving birth to fear only to freeze us in an emotional turmoil ...fear is a liar. Love is truth.
Deepest heavenly sunsets as the realm of the earth reminds me of the unknown miracles, the silent desires and dreams seen and unseen through the eyes of those who still hope and believe. Living free in my eternity. Still I smile.

Echo of My Mind
By Margie Anne Bernard
I heard the words spoken with brutal force.
No escape, no place to run.
Silently, I listened to the echo of my mind.
Words softly spoken in a gentle way,
Come with me, child.
Silent prayers, when will it end?
I hear an echo floating on the wind.
Is it my destiny? Or the echo of my mind?
I turn away, no fear, no pain,
Just the echo of my mind.
Flowers beckoning me to the wall.
Silently, I float away
Amidst the flowers
Upon the wall.
A child freed by
The echo of my mind.
I have sail the seven seas and fought in many wars but the biggest war is still to fight
my love this maybe the last letter to you.
For tomorrow we face the biggest battle of our life nothing can compare.
For all the blood, guts there is no glory.
My only hope is you understand why I do what I do this is for you.
The man you once knew is no-long here the nightmares of death and bloodshed every minute
of life is death.
I will do no more.....
Tomorrow will be my last battle if I am not killed in this I will end my own life........
If god will forgive me I hope you will to.
So please Margie don't weep for me enjoy life and all it has to offer.....
Ten years later.......
He returns to find Margie the love of his life and what he finds is she too end her life upon
getting the letter for she could never love another.
So please be careful what you ask for.
Romance novel Sally could never find a real cowboy
Who was secretly a wealthy billionaire.
Manga Margie searched in vain for the waiter who
Was posing to be poor, hiding his riches in offshore accounts.
Anime Alba never fell in love, because she spent her life
Looking for the prince, who never appeared to give her a red rose.
Worse yet, she never met her hilarious sidekick either.
Lives that were wasted, waiting for non-reality that made
Reality seem like a waste of their time.
Real men gave up, after realizing they would never measure up.
But at least Romance Novel Sally, Manga Margie, and Anime Alba
Had their comics, their Netflix and their cats, right?
I was deeply in love with your sister
From those four years I was ready to give
The better part of my life to live
To be a husband, to be a father, to be a spouse, to be a lover
You tapped into my dark side of desire
And pulled me into your web through lust
You were jealous of the affection
And you wanted all the attention
You took everything I could have had
Everything that could?ve healed my soul
You lured me in to take that step you gained my trust
And when I followed I fell into a giant hole
Cause? of you I lost my way
I lost my bride your sister was to be my loving wife
An because of envy you seduced me into bed
Your gave me head and took my seed cause you wanted to breed
For years I suffered for what I?d lost
I tried to get away from you
But you?d always find grope and kiss me
You tortured me with guilt that has created the man I am today
Bent on vengeful, hateful rage sour with decay
I tried to forgive you I tried to forgive me
But the truth is I am broken for what you did to me
Then you lied about the whole scenario and blamed it all on me
A Child
By Margie Anne Bernard
The gift of a child
is a blessing from above,
placed in a parent's arms
to be cherished and loved.
With his or her first cry,
of unspoken words
comes a message so simple,
'I need to be heard'.
He or she never asks for much
only to be fed and nurtured
with a kind gentle touch.
A child will follow in your footsteps
in the wisdom of your years.
Please walk this child through laughter,
not unanswered tears.
Chase not after what is not yours but after what is within you, for that gift belongs to you and only you
You are God’s masterpiece made in his image for the purpose to bring a message of light
The light brings life to the darkness breaking through the possibilities of greatness
As long as we can breathe and the heart beats we will live and love over and over again
Whether In the desert , in the wilderness or in the dark night of the deep blue sea, remember this, it goes where you choose to take it.
Seek ….it’s within you

I see my life through
The generations ahead
Some growing old
Some already dead
My mother and I are twins
But years separate certain features
I remain a learner
She remains the teacher
My Grandma is seventy-ish
Yet looks very old
Her health is poor
But her love is bold
Great Auntie "G"
Open heart surgery for her
At ninety one years old
Her spirit is her cure
Great Aunt Loretta
Sits pretty at eighty seven
There's nothing to stop her
She not ready for heaven
Auntie Pam
A true blonde to the core
Has done everything possible
Yet, she always finds more
Aunt Valerie
Basks in the tormenting sun
She is starting to show some gray now
Aging has begun
Aunt Margie
With her beautiful brown hair
Will live with us soon
So we all may care...
For the generations that have cared for us.
Our women live long
We protect our men
God will take us in time
We prey for love until then.
We fear not dying
Just who we leave behind
Knowing we've done all we could
Being forever gracious and kind.
