Now That's a Shame
~~~
Tis a gladness found in sadness
mostly pleasure
wince of pain
From an odor round the barroom
none the boys could e'er explain
Like a billowed line of washin'
after gentle fallen rain
Tis the wail of spring befallin'
on a barfly
oh ... the shame
~
Lo
there's homework
I'm the tender
to a list of things that...
Charcoal warmed the yard as we poured
lemonade...a bonfire humming our song;
Grandpa and I would roast mallows
till  my cheeks flushed, old tales in reruns.
And laughter spilled to drink the night
relishing childhood joys ever enshrined,
with his hands once gentle and young...
Today, Grandpa weaves silent gazes
Young Dreams
I love the sound of distant thunder
it takes me back to a river’s shore.
Young kids sparkling of wonder
learning life and wanting more.
Swinging high above the water
from a rope tied to a tree.
Living joy for the moment
wild eyed and feeling free.
Roasting coal and burning mallows
spilling secrets...
Enjoy the Treat
The chocolate land
Exultant and awesome.
With lovely sweet sand
Dazzling in the light.
Oh!It's so yummy
And filled my tummy.
I have never seen
Such an enchanted land.
With splendid candy lakes
High up in the toffee hut.
Sumptuous pies hanging down
Lollipops, porridge and jelly.
The creamy tiles
Designed of opulent cakes.
Oh!The rooms of...
Back To Me
coffee never taste same as with you
the sweetness of mild flavored soul
now it's left crying in cold
never could take it all.
the tears just fell the floor of the dim
but never touched a single dust
for it dried from time so hard
crying unending from day to night.
In a kingdom full of honeysuckles
Remembering many lavender, silent protons
The moon-flower laughed
I am shorn of their handicraft
I awoke and flung spikes of the cactus
Remembering many grand flora, ferny embroiderers
And so you came gently purring along the grasses
Still is whirring, still is whirring
As of someone gently...
Cerise clouds
picot
the mallows
edging
a wafer
Distant mallards
volute the evening,
wainscot
the vault
of season--
a lattice
of lavalieres
mulling a sky
blanched as gin....
Butterflies and Marshes Mellow
I vividly remember my childhood days,
we had a small garden,
in which we grew marsh mallow,
butterflies would sit on them.
Moment I woke up, I would run to them,
to see how many flowers had bloomed
Oh! The exquisite beauty of colourful butterflies sitting on them,
it would give...
All Because of You
"Poetry is a life-cherishing force. For poems are not words, after all, but fires for the cold, ropes let down to the lost, something as necessary as bread in the pockets of the hungry" - Mary Oliver
A cushion for the soul.
Here when we are needy...
Hollow as a crooked pipe conducting waste to the corroded sewer
Vacant and obscure like a Freudian void on a cold lavatory seat
Hollow as a piper’s flute waiting for nimble charming fingers
Vacant like a comatose stare reflecting mindless nothingness
Shallow as a muddy puddle pummelled by boots...
