LOVELORN

Saw a friend of mine the other day
He wasn’t in the mood to play
His face was sad his mood was low
I asked what made him worry so
“Well I’m in love “ the guy told me
"I met this babe--she's fine to see!
Her face is perfect legs are great
Her eyes are blue her hair in braids
When she crossed those endless legs
she dared me to sit up and beg
I watched her sit down by the door
And knew I wanted no one more”

“And have you told her?” I had to know
“I call her every day or so
But she plays coy and stays so cool
It makes me feel like such a fool!"

“What other tactics have you tried?”
“I sent some daisies” he replied.
"We watched a movie, went to eat
And oh that girl is really sweet!
I would give her anything!”
“Will you buy this girl a ring?”
"Of course not, she’s as poor as dirt"
Buffed the cufflink of his shirt
"Just want to play a little while
won't let a waitress cramp my style"

Left him sitting in the park
I hope that chick will break his heart

I had people who feigned friendship…..
I had people, who never loved me,
I had people, who opposed my views always,
And all these are around me.

I had people who were rogue…….
I had people who wanted love;
But when I proposed, they trampled on it.
I had people, who were bereaved,
But when I offered a hand they scorned me.
And all these count on my success.

I had people who’d blunt skills……
I had people, who were buddies,
But when I asked for help, they barked at me.
And all these wish for my downfall to rejoice.

I had people who were troubled…..
I offered compassion,
But in return they have vengeance.
I had people stressed by love,
When I offered a way out, they called me a traitor.
And all of these are “Godly devotees”

I had people, who wanted life to be back in track,
When I gave out tips, they called them garbage,
I had people I professed my love for,
But they said am ain’t fit for them.
I had people, who I treasured,
But they least thought of the effort I used to say;
“I love you.”
And all these God takes care of them.

Lovelorn

A light amongst the Darkness;
or so I do recall...
An illuminating star burning cold;
with sorrow and all...

Maybe one day I'll have your heart,
The day our magicks won't burn apart.
And it'll just be you and me in this art.

I found solace in your radiant light,
Depression's Malice was far from bright.
How I adored you dear, -each night.

I tried to please you, I know I was cold,
You actually made me want to grow old.
My covenant broken and bathed in scold.

I didn't deserve Love; frozen in Black ice!
Expected to much now I bare sacrifice.
Revolve my emotions, take me suicide.

And now I shall never feel your kiss
never swim in your fruitful bliss...
Highly I doubt that someone will miss.

So here I die, in my own little tide,
Now you can be happy with me aside...

So Lovelorn In London Town

From morn to friendless night
He tramps the streets
Just in case he might
Come across her he's a tragic sight
But he don't care
Love gives him might
He haunts the cafes and the discos
And the bars so lovelorn

He knows that he won't find her
But he's got to keep on trying
It gives some meaning to his life
It gives some substance to his time
It is his motive and his project
And his plan so lovelorn

He only met her once
But it changed his life
And it changed his type
And it changed his mind

They say he once was
A successful man
But he threw it all up
As if he'd gone insane
And he took to the streets
And another man was born

They say love comes but once
For some but when it does
It's like a mighty
Atom bomb inside
A disease that seizes
A gentle soul
And when it comes for him
He'd better try to hide

From morn to friendless night
He tramps the streets
Just in case he might
Come across her he's a tragic sight
But he don't care
Love gives him might
He haunts the cafes and the discos
And the bars so lovelorn.

Lovelorn

Dark is deep despair.
Darker is deep love spurned.
Blue is the sky, but he still loves you,
he doesn’t know why.

Green is his heart, since you left him without a word.
He will wait for your return, till then his eyes will be red.

Days are dreary and nights are fraught.
Passion for life has divorced his heart
Dreams and nightmares once his company kept.
But today they have abandoned him and left
.
Alone, he tries to romance sleep.
She does not respond, even though he weeps.

Devastated soul, tormented he lays.
Humiliated by spurned love that's flayed.
He died a thousand deaths before.
But couldn’t cry any more.
A million tears trickled down, scarring his cheek.
Tormented by visions of past besieged.

The marrow in his bones withered in pain.
His arteries were almost dry in vain.

On the spur of a moment, he shed himself; of all disgrace.
From ashes he shall rise; again and regain his space.
Reminiscing his high school days.
The poems that gave him vision and grace.
Fashioned by words that faceted his passion.

He moved on to find one.
who reciprocates his thirst, for passionate love.

Lovelorn

Restless awakening behoves my mood
Unrelated, deep dragging thoughts conspire
Surely, my love's doubt of me misconstrudes
Why, my confessions of love all aspire

Depressingly, the day stretches ahead
Twelve hours, 720 minutes
Each passes, so.... slowly, I am so sad
Wrestling my inner demons, life's the pits

Her vision swims... no longer can resist
A text, I cannot believe one from her!
Reciprocate, by return, she does insist
Her love intact, she wants me to concur

To text..... dare I show again - to be dashed
No......what a bummer, internet has crashed!

When Once a Lovelorn Callow Swain

When once a lovelorn callow swain,
Heartbroken by a maid's rebuff
Sought balsam for his heart's deep pain,
Of female wiles had had enough,
Grave listener at the local pub,
Sat Tom inured to pangs of love,
Who spoke as lion to his cub
Or to a chick a turtledove.

"Son, weep not! I know thy disarray,
And I recall that time ah! Long gorn by
When I, a callow youf of Harringay,
Did to my first love like a furnace sigh.
With ardent kisses she the fire would stoke.
Oh how the temperature did rise,
Till one day she give it such a soak
That out it fizzled to my woeful cries.

Nought could relieve my darkness until Alice,
A fulsome wench from Walthamstow,
Changed my gloom into a Crystal Palace.
Bang crash the day she found another beau!
Oh nothing salved my bitter bitter spleen,
No medicine, herb, apothecary's lotion,
Till I met a luscious blonde from Woodford Green.

How she set my heart and soul in motion.
All went well until I met her mother,
Who asked in innocence how much I earned.
My honest answer love's fickle flame did smother,
So once again I got my fingers burnt.
By now I'd grown cynical a bit,
So when true love came knocking at my door,
I lost my nerve and had a fainting fit,
And so she went. I saw her nevermore.

Thus, my son, I live to tell the tale.
Renounce the frolics of thy frivolous youth.
A loaf but nibbled soon is hard and stale.
Let wisdom early teach this hard-won truth."

Who is thirsty and
weary?
Who need a wash
and a bath?
Let him drink from
my misery.
He will be satisfied
on my path,
for I have created an
ocean on my bed
by my daily night
weeping.
Sorrow scattered my
head.
Should sorrow be my
reaping?

Love seem to be
season.
She changes like
chameleon.
What was the main
reason
that brought this
War of Napoleon?
I thought we were
evergreen flowers
to draw everlasting
happiness.
I thought we were
the happiest lovers.
Antagonists to
sadness.

When I compared
how joy cling on me
when we were
together
with what it be
when we separated
from each other.
I said"my love as love
change
from extreme
happiness to sadness
so shall it be strange
to change from
extreme sadness to
happiness.

Lovelorn Lass

In the canyon, deep and long,
The brook babbles Nature’s song
The silent, secluded valley profound
Is overflowing with that sound.

Yon the mountain, the meadows green,
With the pond of water still and serene
On the stilly full- moon night
The ripples reflect pallid light.

The black-bees are crooning,
The fireflies are shining,
An innocent, lonesome, lovelorn, lass,
Singing madrigals in the wilderness sobs!!

Lovelorn

Since it was you my heart
was
given
since it was you
In a cloudy night
And a whistling wind
In all thin season
Why today you abash me
like
dried leaves
You pierce my heart in
shambolic manner
You contempt my heart like
gloomed flowers.
It is you!
The distresses of my mind
Your beauty bisects my
heart in
solitary ecstasy
Your beauty that
brightens the
African sky
Make my love bodacious
like
summer night
Like costly garment and
African
attire
Like invaluable jewel
hanging on
Black damsel's neck
Since it was you
You anomalous attitude
cannot
infuriate me
But to conjure me.

Undesires

I sit by the moon
and exhale all my zeal
of wanting you one more time
but the pain I don't want to feel
again and again over your imprudence
of not comprehending my love
and slaying my feelings while playing innocence.

I Thought

Some other times I thought
Where does life turns to us?
Is it nobles wearing Gold shoes?
Or the serfs in rag that's loose?

Some other times I thought
People whose life are lost
Doubted sin, innocent beings
Brutally maimed just in a blink

Some other times I thought
Life is a cause for curse
People can't live in their very best
So they rather hid sweats under wares

Some other times I thought
People that are in fear of lose
Love, lifes, virtues that are dearest to them
And in cares and tears wanting someones help

I thought, I think, still hopes
When would life have a thought?
Of many heart broken, lovelorn
Who once again still wishes joy.

Lovelorn

Empty mass, devoid and vast,
Our parting words will be our last
And, oh, my Heart- in Death to cast!
For I cannot endure to relive the past
If you should go, you will steal my Soul
As half of me would become a hole
And left, sadly, to never know
How I could ever love you so...
