She That Time And Fate Can Never Erase
BEHOLD- she that a torn heart can repair,
a Venus that bright stars envy and praise
she that reflects morn's firstborn golden rays
sumptuous love, beyond mortal compare!
Soft as silk glistening as fallen dew
blithe spirit, born of Aphrodite's gifts
she of dreams, radiant hope sent so swift
treasured kisses that sets my world anew!
State of resplendent royal purple glow
siren serenading sweetest of songs
awarding respite from world's teeming throngs
sweet as honey, pure as fresh fallen snow!
"O, but for that end true love reunites,
may destiny's arrows fly swift and right!
Darling, my beloved- of beauty's grace
She that Time and Fate can never erase!

Sonnet, plus two( Lind-Sonnet And Two )
( Born of a summer of love in 1973 )
Yet now, thrives as a dream that was
once lived and now tis' deeply treasured!
Dedicated to the inspiration that Byron
and his magnificent poetry that he has
gifted to this too oft dark and sad world....

earth sings and swings through space
blue pearl's nascent sostenuto
sun's rouge reveil blush dusts her face
space pings as new world rings
angels praise God's high hopes

G..long, G..long, G..long,
It was so intriguing
The G..long sound
Trumpeting elephant?
No elephant here said..
Greville the greedy goat,
Sim the swaying giraffe
even Lind the chaffinch.
In deprecating way
Vee then laughed mockingly
Well, he couldn't help it
Being a hyena!
Exasperated Saul
determinedly stamped off
to ask Arc, the owl
He found him fast asleep
G..long, G..long, G..long
said Saul in Arc's right ear
Fluttering his feathers
Arc woke suddenly
Then eyeball to eyeball
Saul asked Arc politely.
"What makes a G..long sound?"
Silence was prevailing
until they both jumped at..
hearing the "sound!"
G..long, G..long, G..long!
Saul ran and Arc flew down
Here was the distinct sound,
which was getting nearer,
Saul's capuchin monkey
Kareen came into view.
Arc peered downwards
WHAT WAS ON..... Kareen's feet?
OVERSIZED GALOSHES!!!
G..long, G..long, G..long!
Was heard the flapping sound
As Kareen, head held high,
nonchalantly strolled by
Saul and Arc exchanged looks
Arc's disapproving one
with Saul's embarrassment
glowing red on his cheeks.
Saul beat a quick retreat
As Arc chuckled aloud! ......

warm marmalade and tints of burnished gold
I love to watch the setting sun

As Winter sheds it armor,
young Spring proves quite a charmer.
Though I may sniffle and sneeze,
March hues and fragrances surely please.

The songbirds’ trills are cheery,
encouraging me today

Can you hear the sound of gossamer wings stroking the air?
A brightly colorful papillon makes its way without much care.
Few things found in nature are as beautiful as this.
Just a short time ago, it emerged from its chrysalis.
The grounded larva has undergone a metamorphosis.
In this sultry summer season is where you belong.
No wonder you inspired Bob Lind to write a song.

The girls in Nebraska can be quite different,
It gradually Dawns on you that this is true ,
Like catching greased pigs at their county fairs,
Vast cultural differences come into view.
With mothers that have unique info they Share On,
The love traps like money, like biscuits, passé,
Catching and holding are really quite different,
A new magic needed when our feet are clay.
A strong woman like Dawn is really quite gamey,
No obvious pathways that lead to her heart,
You should give it some thought before trying out,
Remember the goal is to win the best part.
In love there's a dance that both people are learning,
In this life roles change at the drop of a hat,
Just which one is strong and which one is bending,
And if it should change ‘round, well what's wrong with that?
The main thing to get is a new age is dawning,
A hope for the future this world's never known,
As all of us live out dreams we're pursuing,
Share God's joy in viewing a childhood that's grown.

Dawn Hetrick and her mother Sharon (Bob's Daughter) are related to Bob Lind,
a farmer friend of mine in Holdrege, Nebraska. On a recent visit, Dawn was
actually not home the evening I arrived. She was actually participating in a
contest at a local county fair where a team of 4 members tries to catch a
'greased pig' and then put it into a barrel. You win the contest by doing this in
the shortest time. Dawn and her friends won the contest last year but this year
came in second.
You may note that both Dawn and her mother are mentioned by name in the
poem! : -)

Yet Ever Onward, Onward Keep Treading We Must
Any moment we may lose a love one so dear
so exists that long black hand of foreboding fear.
Yet not until it comes into our lives and rips
away that treasure, do we see its icy grips!
Invisible claws slash to send into decay
forever gone tho' in agony we oft pray.
And as long silence answers from far far above
we face saddest truth, we lost that which we so love!
No more hearing, that cheerful good morning salute
as if life never existed and sounds are mute.
And within this darkness pain too oft reigns supreme
as we fight fleeing shadows of our once great dreams.
Yet ever onward, onward keep treading we must,
standing still in life, oft brings early death and dust.

Blind as a bat they used to say as she rode her bike this way and that. I did
Love her thick coke bottle glasses and the way she hunched her back when she
Incited to drive down a one lane street with her head up and her eyes fixed.
No one could have guessed that she was really biking it by memory, as they
Drove by her, they would honk and say " get out of the street" ....
A lady with very little money, five children and a knapsack full of apples for
Snacks. She would drive to school at recess and dole out the fruit to her kids.
Annabelle Kor was her name and she was my mother, this I say with pride.
Born a survivor, who had survived the Jewish camps , she knew how to live free
Answer to none but God, she would tell us as they sent her strange looks
Truth be told I wouldn't have wanted any other mother, she was my hero...
