DEFLECTION
bouncing your beams
deflecting your light
off that bright white
stone you call
home
flesh hung bones show
life’s hidden sorrows
in the chambers of
a likeminded
soul
nude as chicken necks
they will come to peck
words from your heads
Scarlet brain
flowers
flydiving
soarfalling
death is unworthy
the final call to
amnesia births
candles of
remembrance
will only serve
to gulp down
remaining flickers
of deflected
light
as blood blooms
clean
once again

Twas it happenchance or divine intervention
that brought us to this place, this time
this plane of purest desire we share….
Just north of the moon, past the fourth star
crossing over Orion’s belt we soared…
entwined, likeminded, and very much inclined
in our sincerest direction.
Meet we now, on this date, blessed and anointed
for this journey and those ahead.
Hear now the celestial bodies herald,
with reverence, the brilliance of light
this joining has shed, as we swirled together
near the presence of the masters design.
Two spirit filled, enlightened souls
lead by faith, alight in words of hope
spiraling together near the visions
of ancient worlds and beings
caught now in time and space….
sheer energies of enlightenment.
How bless we are to join this gathering,
as we dance in our celestial trance
amidst the wisdoms of past worlds.

Dramatic Monologue
Imagine
Imagine if you knew
The day you were going to die
Imagine if you went through life
without ever having to lie
Imagine if you were perfect
And a person with no fault
Imagine if you were never angry
Kept it all locked up in a vault
Imagine if you had to power
To wipe away all tears
Imagine if you had the power
To chase away all fears
Image if you had to power
To make sick people well
Imagine that would probably be like
Closing the gates of hell
Imagine if you never saw
Color, Creed, or race
Imagine if you faced your demons
Spat right in their face
Imagine if there was no such thing
As hunger, fear, or war
Imagine if the ones who fought
Knew what they were fighting for
Imagine there was no such thing
As egos or massive greed
Imagine that would probably mean
More people with less needs
Imagine if you had dreams like John
Of a world that lived in peace
Imagine enough likeminded people
Could turn this into a belief

God’s compassion
Marks divine patience* in action
Despite my stubbornness’ reaction…
He, with grace, works for my restoration
Assuring me His granted joy of redemption
When by faith, I trusted His sacrificial function
Divine love that freed me from hell’s condemnation
Paying fully the wages of my iniquity and transgression
Sealing my soul of His ownership, secured with eternal salvation…
Grateful, I worship my Saviour-Lord, serving by His Scripture’s instruction.
*Romans 15:5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus.

Eden to me is paradise so grand
With nature wonders of majestic brand
Earth’s haven as providentially planned
Lingering still --- oh, sweet musical land.
Marked with outstanding creation beauty
Showcasing landscapes and parks of serenity
Wafting blest air of zephyr’s purity
Refreshing hearts toward blissful tranquility.
Eden to me is paradise so grand
With nature wonders of majestic brand
Earth’s haven as providentially planned
Lingering still --- oh, sweet musical land.
Eden and gracious songs empower faith and soul
Reviving spirit for thanksgiving goal
To fulfill with joy* God-granted role
While praising His goodness, making life whole.
Eden to me is paradise so grand
With nature wonders of majestic brand
Earth’s haven as providentially planned
Lingering still --- oh, sweet musical land.
*Philippians 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Lyric
A circle of souls
Likeminded ladies
Invisible rules
Disqualify me
I’m somewhere in space
Floating alone
Holding a steady pace
Look how I’ve grown
I didn’t need her
Nope, not her either
The pot, they stir
I’m an obstacle beater
It doesn’t matter
At the end of the day
They’re getting fatter
At lunch and lattes
I hustle on
They chit chat
Soon I’ll be gone
No looking back

Pleasant speech ; devoid of discord,
Likeminded in understanding,
United by faith and vision,
Loyal to impartial principle,
And fair in the share of wealth.

hanging out amongst those who are like minded
new to the group naive to the lies and deceptions
groomed with gifts fun spotlight low expectations
time goes by everything great money had you blinded
you had the lovers fame reputation all felt so right
competitiveness between group members alike
tension becomes intolerable to the point of dislike
truth be told about how to settle with a fist fight
threats were always spewed but no action taken
group members siding causing small divisions
most tired of the tension making hasty collisions
all about money fashion lovers has caused a shaken
this one particular night you decided not to indulge
feeling not up to par your soul making you elusive
hung out as usual thinking how things can be decisive
something felt off your intuition gave you a nudge
not feeling the vibe decided to step out side for air
unbeknownst to you the tension was thickening
come back in moments later you were witnessing
an argument turned deadly body sit dead in a chair
blood that carries secrets slowly coagulate
thick dark stickiness that drew in flies
smells whilst being puddling burying lies
sitting in panic with beads of sweat from distress
wondering what to do where to go who is who
paranoid with being inexperienced about crime
this was not part of a plan to hang out this time
nobody to trust running scared sleepless night too
would they let you just walk away knowing what you seen
following you haunting you in dreams to scare you quiet
this secret causing the heart and mind to have an inner riot
telling was out of the question not even mentioning the scene
seeing members from time to times looking with evil eyes
made you reevaluate the meaning of like minded people
following popularity status spotlight really reels in sheeple
darker than you will ever admit magic deceit and lies
realizing having your own individuality avoids like mindedness
you don't have to say you endure and was scare most of the time
this experience help heal suppress parts traded for being a slime
learning things about yourself now has you with sharp sightedness

Enclosed Rhyme
I was an awkward teenager
seeking her truth
My friend and I would write
love poems about our heart throbs
The pen indeed back then
remained my most trusted confidante
Years went by I grew up
and life got crazy busy
The old poems laid stashed
somewhere in a forgotten corner
It wasn't till I retired that
I happened to be at a poetry reading
I listened most politely while
squirming at how it was simply horrid
That's when I decided
to dust off and revisit my oldies
I then found a site online of
likeminded poets
and never looked back

I have so much to say
bottled up inside
buried smothered
I need to share
or I’ll explode
if I don’t
my life
will have been
for naught
put myself out there
while there’s still time
to connect
attract hearts akin
and likeminded souls
the world needs
the playfulness of poetry
where you and me
can write and read
between the lines
and fill the blanks
to turn our interaction
into a tagteam act

What’s a girl to do
Looking looking looking
For completion in a partial world.
Will it be under this rock,
Or along that stream
I’ll find my prince charming
In the form of a frog?
And then what,
How many kisses will it take to know?
What’s a boy to do
When all around the voices say
Don’t don’t don’t
It’s a jungle out there
After the age of about three or four
When it used to be thirteen or fourteen
That something as elusive as an identity even mattered.
And what then,
Will the identity I choose shine enough
And be sticky enough to last
When everyone is racing to the bottom
Of the victim barrel?
Each year a new victim class is anointed
More unlikely, and unlikable, than the last,
And each year we grow a little wearier
With the identity we once sought refuge in.
Out with the old and in with the new
Was so much easier when it was just a year of style
Of hair, or jeans, shoes or music
Than now when it’s a whole world
I must cling to to still be me.
Somewhere I know there must be peace
I can see it in the eyes of those beyond
This obsession with the selfish desire
To find my place and sacrifice my individuality
On the pyramid of victim privilege
But I just can’t give up the habit.
Someday I know I’ll turn fifteen
And grow out of it all
Then maybe I’ll want my breasts back
And my old name,
Until an eternity later I turn sixteen
And the latest fad catches, sticks and shines
And won’t let go, until I see at last
Hopefully before I’m too old and gray,
That just as the question always holds the answer
And the problem its solution
When there is no longer anyone there to search
There is no problem to find.
But until you find that Holy Grail
You’ll just cry away your nightmares
Identifying with the likeminded masses
Seeking safety in their numbers
Where the darkness is complete.

Narrative
I do not fear the wrath of those who love me,
But fear the love of those who thrive on wrath
For some hearts are filled with bitter gall.
They seek their friends among the likeminded,
To accept their expressions of love endangers
My heart of becoming infected, even blinded,
And finding myself sliding into this deadly pall
Feeding on their hatefulness, the wrong path,
When I must take the more rewarding way I see.
