It was in late October in the year nineteen seventy three
That the war in South Vietnam was finally over for me
I boarded the seven o seven and couldn't wait to get going
A non military plane, a bright blue and white coloured Boeing.

After a long flight...

Another Time, Another Place
The clock on the wall doesn’t chime anymore,
But its dust dances long into the night.
No-one stares at the hands of time more than once,
And lives to tell the tale.

I saw a reflection in the mirror
But the face looking back wasn’t mine.
I tried to search for...

Cafe Racers
slow it down
pull it up
boldly rival
wind whipped
leather wrapped
beetle bright
coiled spring
chromed out
in your face
visors down
rev it up
Go!
Go!
Go!...

Anticipation
Anticipation

This morning the sky was bright red
Before turning to a dirty milk
The air is still
The heat is intense and dry
You can hear the leaves crackle underfoot

You can feel the energy in the air increasing
Like a coiled spring
You wait for the impending storm
Excitement growing with...

No Longer Alone - Conclusion 5 Minute Poem
She just upped and walked away
Taking his precious son
Now he searches day and night
Wants to bring him home

Was given a tip yesterday
On his way to check it out
Down  to Cornwall to Newquay
Tense as a coiled spring wanting to shout

Then he saw  her
Was at the school...

“Cats teach us how to enjoy life. They savor every moment, from
the warm sun on their backs to the joy of a well-played pounce.”

As a child
I liked how its life
fitted so well within
my clasped hands,
the feel
of its smooth head,
the silky
one way fall
of feathers down
to a turquoise collar,
its tight form
loaded like
a coiled spring
beneath all that softness,
gathered ready to launch
and lift with wings,
letting it go
and most of all,
its coming back....

The Hunter
Darkness surrounds me
Leaves whisper in the wind
Shadows all around me
As I manoeuvre downwind

Like a dark patch of silence
I move low through the brush
My muscles pent up violence
Ready for the final rush

I catch a scent upon the air
Musky and fresh in the night
I...

Warrior Stance
He stands in diametrical opposition,
taking in the measures of his opposite self,
taking on the warriors stance,
that leads into the martial dance.

His pace is measured,
every breath taken at deliberate pace,
as he puts on a mask of passivity,
that is now his warriors face.

The dance begins,
the energy pools...

Premium Member Claimed By the Sea
Sea calm,
Crew slept,
Dark side,
Sea kept,
Tide raced,
Waves crept,
Crew woke,
Sails prepped,
Coiled spring,
Waves leapt,
Overboard,
Crew swept,
Left behind,
They wept.

For the sea has no respect
For the nautically inept …...

Another Attempt To Conjecture How I Came Tubby Me
This aggrieved papa
of two progeny, (female)
holed himself in a
rigorously fortified fail
safe impregnable invisible monastery
barely room enough to exhale

decades before their conception,
when I hapt tubby
more hearty and hale,
though robust health a blessing -
this haint no rumored tattletail
inherited, aye oft womb min

eight if my embryonic stage

Heart
do not lay me down to die
for i am not done yet
hungers still apon my eye
my coiled spring is set
i will not bow in a storm
or break against the rocks
forged in me as i was born
the heart to take the knocks
within me lays the fire

Wind It Up
Wind up your body like a coiled spring

Open your eyes and mind and be ready to sing

Then explode just like a supernova star

Show everybody just who you are

You're an imperial spiritual miracle

You're brighter than a sun you're a vehicle for love

So wind your body up...

The void holds all within its fold, unbound
One with all, as love gong within resounds
Being cause and effect, of the bliss squall
Coiled spring thus, harkening the divine call
A mist of bliss, yet with feet on firm ground

Still fulcrum of the merry-go-around
Within our heart, we hear...
