A Crooked House

We lived in a crooked house.
Built on a muddy mound of hope with the corpse of yesterday half buried beneath
Sad eyes and smiley faces. A gilded countenance to pair the four walled fiction – Painted thin; only just enough to cover our cracks.
Widening like morning eyes; a mirrored reflection.
Dancing in a zigzag to the tune of the tremors. An ugly soundtrack coaxing ugly art.

Those damp walls. The cracks swallowing torrents from eyes in the sky
Wide eyed boys watching sliding droplets crashing into droplets. Swallowed like pride.
Doors jammed in water seeped jambes. Knotted and gnarled. A need for a greave
Trees weeping at what they witness from the outside looking in. Shedding leaves for tears.

Oft trampled floor boards creaking and crying in solidarity with those that walk its back
Whisper and scurry light-footed like mice in a hurry so easily scared by the wall breaching wind
Trying hard not to wake the monster sleeping downstairs - Breath held like tongues, voices low
Like the swing in the garden tied to the tired branch of the hunched tree. Seat sunk in mud. Ashamed.

A tip toe down the slippery stairs; in fear of drowning in the basement swimming pool. A watery hell
Festering in the bowels of this building ever since the burgeoning moat breached the ramparts of this faux castle.

Lopsided family photo frames hanging by a thread. Nailed to crumbling walls. A slipping semblance of home.
The rising cigarette smoke staining the walls like those words from the same pursed lips from the mind so hard to rid
A cloudy plume with no silver lining; an excuse for eyes to water; blurring those family portraits.

That poisoned smog escaping through the chimney. Blown out over spluttering trees aghast at what this house concealed.
The wind once blew from the west. The house had many faces then but when the east wind struck its walls, the face it pulled it stuck. Doubled over, bent and crooked.

The trees perished like dreams and time brought change
But this crooked house remained the same.

My Dearest Dove

If I could Harken to thee, a sonnet,
of loves most great desires,
the mere utterance, would warm thine ears
as the soft crackles of lusts fires

The ambiance, of shadows dance
across the Scottish tapestry,
Muses, light footed, pirouetting
my symphony, my love for thee

Fairest is thy silken mane
of the finest Irish Auburn,
brilliant as a cool autumn day
as the leaves of the maple turn

The tower bells, they toll for thee
as pale moon, illuminates the night
hark, the far cry, my dearest dove
of the owlet, so yearning flight

The petals of the Royal Rose
silken soft, compared to thy blushing skin,
or the Emerald glow, of thine own eyes
alit, passion, kindled from within

Mine own heart, burns with ever fire
that, which only thee, can conquer,
Conquer thee not, my dearest dove
for our love, forever, must endure

Harken to me my dearest Dove
sweet sonnets, from silken lips,
for I know thou shall be to me
as close as my finger tips.

The Path of Life

Life’s path is arduous
Mountains loom before us all
Together we must forge a pathway
To the mountain tall
Walk with footsteps heavy
Scenery sometimes dull

On clear days all goes smoothly
How pleasant it can be
To dance with feet light-footed
Atop peaks we never thought we’d see

Cloudy times are puzzling
Uncertainty around the bend
Ever confident sparkling surprises
Lie at the journey’s end

Premium Member Crisscrossed

With heavy muddy feet.
The chambers of our hearts are Crisscrossed.
We were once light-footed and golden-leafed,
but time always unveils its true........ offbeat.
Shakes the color from every tree
rapes the berry from sweet offerings.

Ice fills December's coffee cup,
seasons removed from the smiling bud.
Roaches nibble on the bones of love...

Flitting down the path, yet another dove.
Throat rimmed in gold to cloak what's to come.
Rain freshened flowers, devoured by dollops of mud...
Crisscrossed.

Living Large Behind Petunia

Living Large Behind Petunia

Elephants walk around on clouds
Light footed in humble stature
Like dolphins strong in mind
They know their station
Commanding winds of change
Remain complacent to a fault
Smiling at the fruits of sun and food
Never take life too seriously
Being elephant is a weighty matter
Taking one large step at a time
Tiny eyes see all, large and small
Hiding behind a petunia is challenging
Still they rise to the occasion
To please one and all

She False Me, She False Me Not

As time flies, so her emotion swiftly fries,
As life frowns to dust, so her affection swiftly drowns to lust,
As love turns to coal, so her smile swiftly runs to the cold,
As sunset sets away, so her truth swiftly upsets the root of likeness, and erects away the boldness of trust,
but her hate doesn't rate me to roasted rat, because her hate is wingless, and no other can make her sweat and melt to hashes like I do.

Damn! I’m damned, if I get soak in her socking beauty,
Damn! I’m damned, if I get stolen by her golden smile,
Damn! I’m damned, if I don’t bench her lioness sex drive, I’ll infinitely feel less, like a quenched man.
Damn! I’m damned, if I merge with her chameleon cries and battalion kisses.

If I give in fully, just for the sake of ‘be a real man’, not 'a steel man',
my life will end up like the life of a North American bug, which inflicts painful bite on love and life.
When I transparently decide to give into love, all I get is:
Vultures smoking cigarette in an uncultured manner,
Kangaroo's doing Michael Jackson’s moonwalk in a live show in Cameroon,
Monkeys ordering for coffee, while wooing female donkeys
Zebras playing golf, with liberal views,
Lizards rearing Afro and trying to reawaken Lazarus from the dead,
Dingo's wearing costly tuxedos in Mexico, and speaking Spanish fluently,
Frogs driving Rang-Rove jeeps, in a foggy weather
Snakes wearing condoms to nibble into snacks,
Female Goats, wearing sexy underpants, to enable them float in a sinking Titanic boat
Bareheaded demons and bears drinking chilled bears together in a beheaded mood and using chilly pepper, to chill down their temper,
Horses babysitting housewives

I trip endlessly!
lost in a confused mood and temper, for she false me, she false me not.

I limp endlessly!
No matter how we try to put souls together to make our love bright and wealthy like the brightened face of Paris and the fat pocket of Las Vegas,
We always end up creating a poverty of love.

I have relentlessly tried praying forcefully for our love,
but I end up noticing that people, who aggressively pray the most for love, end up marrying angry praying-mantis.

I will just have to remain light-footed in love, and let her featherweight affections for me, turn to true feelings, or get carried away, because she false me, she false me not.

Phantom of Love

Phantom of Love –

A phantom of love arrived in spring,
Emotions of beauty invited him in,
So gentle and tender you opened your arms,
then rested his head on your chest full of charm

Closed were his eyes to a warmth of compassion,
A moment like this he wished for in vision.

Like a light-footed fairy, you tiptoed his heart,
And left a sensation of feminist touch.
In modest for quest, he held all his breath,
The comfort alone, safe on your breast.

Aspired the moment, he feared to exhale,
Fear loss of the footprint you tiptoed in gold,

Yes, leave him to slumber, delightful his soul,
For when he awakes, your love he shall take
Forever his own, he then shall it make.

Jackson the Pug Meets Santa Claus

Picture this if you will!

Christmas Eve at the home of,
Jackson and Janis the Pug
after dinner all the mess is cleaned up,
and Jackson and Janis are safe and snug

Jackson is dreaming of hot dogs,
of Mr. Jones and his hot dog cart
on a nice warm summers day,
as he strolls through the park

When he wakes to a noise down stairs,
he tells Janis " stay put" heads for the door
Janis was worried of course as her,
Brave little Jackson, headed for the first floor

Little Jackson, light footed down step by step,
farther down, farther down he goes
he sees movement, in the living room,
what it is Jackson does not know

Now on the first floor, rounded the corner,
coming to the living room, he gives a pause
there, before his bright little eyes,
was the man in Red, Santa Claus

When Santa saw Jackson, he gave him a smile,
pulled a scroll from his pocket, said " look at this,"
Santa walked over, unfurled the scroll
said,:" I see my young Jackson is on the nice list"

Jackson said," Santa, is Janis there too?"
" She's my wife,and she's been a good Pug this year,"
With a chuckle he said" Look closer and see"
" Yes my young Jackson, here's her name, just here"

A smile on his face, twinkle in his eye,
Jackson watched Santa, on this Christmas day
he made his way to the fireplace, finger on his nose,
Merry Christmas young Jackson, up the chimney he ros.

Dash away, Dash away, Dash away all, Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Merry Christmas Jackson and Janis !!!

                                                             Taz

I've ridden zebras on the Serengeti,
swam the wildest seas;
I've played golf with old Jack Benny
-brought Ali to his knees.
I've killed zombies in my bedroom,
a werewolf on the lawn
-fought vampires at the edge of doom
before the break of dawn.
I've spent the night with Marilyn,
had a beer with Gable
-watched Astaire's light-footed spin
with Ginger on my table.
I helped Howard Hughes with all his schemes
-sang with Elvis as they screamed,
but then, like life, just what it seems
-a crazy mixed up old weird dream!

The Ruba’iyat of Créteil Lake - Part Nine

Staring sun perches on Créteil hillock hump and dazzles lake
Waves slop through tingling streaks of furrowed light dance
                quake
Blinding nuclear fissions in a cloudless cinematic sky
Sparse streaks of ephemeral jet trails cirri overtake

Over the wings of silver shafts flutter in the distance
Two troupes of gulls some on wing others squat circling aisance
Where eddying currents trap bream and trout going berserk
Ashen yarrow tuft fur heads lean over complain nuisance

Single-mast sailing boats across her breast to and fro streak
In Parthenon pillar curves chart their collision free trek
Aranjuez violins and guitars serenade the lake
As the light-footed Maiden of the Main skips for Khayyam’s sake

There on her luscious tresses the Bard lay stretched in her curl
His eyes glazed from too much wine and pining after one girl
While she lies cloaked in dreams of golden spires and marble domes
Worlds where nectar words with absinthe in phials gently twirl

Tingling spring sensations invade the lake’s deciduous stench
To remind Ol’ Khayyam of his infernal thirst to quench
All that glitters lasts not even a single winter’s day
Yet at dusk Créteil Lake stirs and winks one sly eye, the
                 Wench!

Her Name Was Winter

She danced over my desires like a light footed ballerina
tapping into my longings like an intuitive child of the seventies
Every drip of icicle sent shivers down my spine
and so I wrote her a letter, asking her to  quietly go away;

She answered me, with a whip of wind and a halo from the sun
her summons were refreshing, like a snowflake on the tongue
Although I begged her to release her seasonal lurk on me
she gave me stretchy moments filled with February days

She made me long for sunshine five hours every day
and as I synced my calendar, March arrived Hurray Hurray !
Every hill of white and every snowflake bright
did eventually, fade away ....

She danced into my birthday month and gifted me the spring
and as I sat on my veranda I could hear the birdies sing
Every touch of her was gone at least for one more year
and so I wrote another letter, thanking her for her short stay !

Feather Meditation

FLOATING meditation

FEEL YOUR BODY RISE SLOWLY FROM THE GROUND TO THE AIR. FLOAT UP TO THE CENTER OF YOUR SPACIAL SURROUNDING AND ALLOW YOUR SOUL TO GRAVITATE UP RISING TO NEW HEIGHTS. YOU ARE A FEATHER BEING PUSHED UP BY A GENTLE AUGMENTING WIND . GO TO THE SUMMIT OF YOUR THOUGHTS AND REACH UP AND TOUCH THE PLATFORM OF HEAVEN WITH YOUR MIND (B)
WHEN YOU HAVE REACHED THE APEX OF YOUR JOURNEY LOOK DOWN AND SEE THE OTHER FEATHERS RISING TO MEET Y OU. SOME ARE MOVING AT AN ALARMING SPEED SOME ARE GRADUALLY CLIMBING , SOME ARE DANCING WAY UP THERE WHERE YOU ARE. AQUAINT YOUR SPIRIT WITH THE NEW ALTITUDE. ITS AS IF YOU HAVE BEEN ELONGATED AND STRETCHED TOWARD THE TALL TALL SKY (B)

YOU ARE A FEATHER LIGHT, AIRY, BREEZY ,ALWAYS CLIMBING UP TOWARDS THE WEIGHTLESS CLOUDS AND THE DOWNY SUBSTANCE OF GOD'S LOVE MATTER. YOU BECOME PORTABLE, LIGHT FOOTED ,AND ASTRAL READY . YOU FEEL LIGHT AS A FEATHER, NIMBLE AND AGILE. READY TO TRAVEL TO THE STARS AND NAVIGATE YOUR TEMPLED BODY. (B)

BENEDICTUS PACEM (BLESSED PEACE) BE WITH YOU.

Epiphany

The homes are opening up in the mist
like grief of figures
with eyes, opened up to the sea tract.
The walls are crumbling, to this evening
groaning with strength.
Who is shouting there?
Who is building fire on the shore?
The oars were dying of the sweat.
The sails were torn by the winds
dead.
Did they bring ebony and silk,
myrrh and emeralds from Lepanto?
They remained with ashes of the sea,
with corns,
with grief, resembling anchor.
On winding, light-footed caravels
captains are shouting on the deserted shore
and building
Epiphany sacrificial fires.

Premium Member Beyond the Waterfalls

Behind the waterfalls
is where they go to die.
To dip their ivory hearts
in water gems and rainbow mist
for one final time....
Remembering, once upon an ancient path
when great gray trumpets walked a line
from waterhole to waterhole.

Nothing to fear
but the season of dry.
Raising young
like the sun lifts the sky
so strong- so lovingly.

Her last thought,
when she was a sprite,
Light-footed, bright, amber eyed.
Playing tag amidst the gray pillars of her life
trunk snapping the wind.
Hymns of the ancients, tickling veined ears.
Living forever, beyond the waterfalls.

Land of Dreams

Love like this doesn’t last forever
So run with me to the land of dreams
To us be trusted this endeavor
Light footed steps on wooden beams

Take my heart
Loose an arrow
Make a start
Straight and narrow

Just don’t leave
This one’s afraid
Her heart on her sleeve
She fears that day

Love like this doesn’t last forever
So stay with me in the land of dreams
To us be trusted this endeavor
Careful steps on wooden beams
