"Shhh, look there they are.
No one believed me.
Now you see them too.
A blessing of Unicorns.
If anyone knew where they were
it would be the end of the Unicorns.
The one with the wings is the Queen.
See how sad she looks.
She has separated herself from the blessing.
She loves the other Unicorns
but she is dealing with her own issues.
They love her, she knows that.
This is different.
She has to deal with this herself.
She knows she is loved.
She knows they all care for her.
Deeply!
She is their Queen after all.
What?
A song?
Maybe!
I don't know.
I brought poetry.
I brought soup.
I have to try.
I hope she believes me.
She is going to be fine.
I dreamt about her.
In the dream her wings were spread.
You should of seen them spread
they must of spanned farther than the horizon
higher than the milky way.
In my dream her magic horn was a beacon,
it was leading her through the dark
but she was also a beacon for everyone else.
Everyone who was trapped in the darkness.
She led them too!
She always has.
She is our Queen after all.
I stood there amazed
she was magnificent.
She waited patiently and the light filled her.
She knew it would happen and she was right.
That hand from up above
the one she always trusted
filled her with light.
She is the Queen and in my dream
she had returned in her full glory."
Linda was back.
It starts with an L
L stands for love.
Maybe It's not a dream.
'Fairy tales can come true -
It can happen to you...
life gets more exciting with each
passing day...!'
I believe dreams are
just a window to reality.
I believe in Fairies.
I believe in Unicorns.
And I believe in Linda!

Narrative
The Festival of Lights, Chanukah has arrived
a hopeful time of praise each year revived.
The Menorah lit, each home becomes a church.
Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the universe.
Our sister Miriam lights the shamash taper first
a maiden fair and scholarly her prayers rehearsed
to bring together all that's beautiful, diverse.
Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the universe.
Eight nights we praise the L-rd for gifting us with Light
and pass around small things which bring delight.
We rejoice. In brotherhood we are immersed.
Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the universe.
May G-d in his greatness light all your days
May family, friends, and foes mend their ways
for all have needs, let kindness tame their thirsts
Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the universe.

SUBLIME
Sublime
I've been shedding snakeskin...
so blind
I've been destroying the noise
my worst enemy
Deconstructing my identity
soaking shoulder deep
in oceans of humility
feasting upon fruits of tranquility
breaking shackles
freeing ankles
from bloody mud puddles
razor blade anxiety
rising to a place
where yesterday
flees irrelevant
tomorrow
is insufficient
Yet
this moment
of SUBLIMITY
right now...
forever remains
a fearless paradise

Ink spills purposely on paper
forming letters of certain alphabets
to vowels and consonants.
Though speechless, one puts
forth effort to enunciate and
pronounce aloud the syllables
carefully to articulate loves interest.

Just as we live and just as we die
We laugh, kill and crucify
We are no more our brothers than we are ourselves
We are the players
With the tools and talent of the efficient demise
Of war, famine and greed
We do rise
Of the ever constant ricochet of freedom in our ears
As we wrap our fallen dead in a shroud of rights, laws and bills
And continue to improve the technology, the precision
The assurance of absolute destruction
Buying death is easy
Dealing is easier
Survival
The career choice of many
A thriving business with prestige and power
Taking, wanting, hungry for the rush
So young, so fragile
Blood is running in the streets
A seemingly endless fountain of misguided youth
Falling, one after the other
So far from the truth
S hocked

What good has ever come from a gun ?
Why kill ?
Why are we arming our children ?
Our future ?
Are you blind to the fact ?
Do you not hear the sound ?
Do you not see ?
Do you not care ?
We are killing ourselves
Stealing each others dreams
Each others families
Why pro-create ?
To produce, raise, and nurture more disposable targets ?
Is there another use for guns ?
1 + 1 = 0
One bullet + one individual = one less reason to care
We are waging war upon our brothers for money, love and survival

land of lost shadows
and unweathered skies
five urban colours
through unflinching eyes
tall distant chimneys
and schoolyards at play
smoke drifting sideways
in stillness each day
sketches on packets
of stained cigarettes
strange brooding faces
and marionettes
people bent walking
with heads looking down
- if lowry was living
he'd have painted my town.

Attitude can be nurtured and changed
By you in spite of what has happened in your day
Confident people master it quickly
Despite what they are enduring
Enthusiasm is a side benefit that
Fosters team work positivity and friendship
Give yourself a break if you
Have had a bad day. We all have them.
Inspiring videos, loving people and supportive friends
Jokes, funny TV shows, and hobbies might help.
Kindness to friends is wonderful, but
Loving them is not as important as loving yourself.
Many do not give themselves this important gift.
Naturally you want the best for others and your family
Outrageous as this might sound, you must
Positively become your OWN best friend first.
Quiet yourself and give yourself this all-important gift.
Rusty as you might be, find your strengths.
See yourself in the best light. Encourage yourself.
Treat yourself with the same empathy you
Utilize with others, a good friend, or a cherished neighbor
Vigorously appreciate your talents and gifts.
Wisest of the wise recognize the
‘Xceptional logic of doing this and often.
You will immediately reap the awards.
Zesty excited attitudes encourage others, please encourage you!

Plant Not your seeds in Poor
soil. Heinous and Quagmire
loves society. Yet,
you seclude yourselves from
your very own seed that
you have planted. But, Why?!
Non compos mentis

Callous?!... Or maybe
Myopic?!... Even
society that
claims to be so
Erudite has
no rejoinder.
Complicity

B-R-E-A-T-H - OF - L-O-V-E
Summer sun or winter freeze pulls heartstrings in trapeze. . .
Cotton soft to gnarled callus vows have thread along my way
embroidering ribbon actions to pliant swings of reactions
like a darting fish thrilled to catch a passer-by knees.
Two pairs of eye sew webs to bridge affection display,
pines teeming green crown my arrested heart--
tachycardic I am... each time I hear your sound.
Has breath of love tickled my nerves to interaction?
Like a bee I'm drawn to your sweet ambiance 'round
hoping by miracle it will birth me a fresh start.
Scents that streams from bulbs swirl on wafting wind--
Ah! They all fell to shame for your breath of love tames.
Once a rebel soul that long been thriving for satisfaction
with breath of love that resuscitates, I mend my flame
channeling muse to stroke the peak density of mind.
Slender February breeze taunt my fingers
to type rhymes that shy edge of reason.
Eternally plunge in surrender
I-- filled with breath of love ships my horizons
to script stories in shades that lingers. . .

love is something that you should respect
for of all emotions it's worst harm is regret
it gives freely with no thought to object
from one to another hopeful prospect
something sacred that one should protect
and with deepest desire one should accept
but the dark side of love is that one can reject
for to give love, one's heart has to elect
love is not a thing that you can easily eject
it's tangled strings will slowly egress
lest love use it's power to hate and detest
or worst of all be defeated by distress
no, no, no, this thing love i must redress
give up too soon, no i protest
all this time that i have obsessed
it is for good reason i make this request
i will contest till i conquest if that is what you will
but prove to you this one thing; my love you cannot kill

Puppy Love at 55
When I am wise, I’ll turn to puppy love
With generous doses of truth and innocence, almost no shame …
“Her be my gal!” Or “Me gonna marry him, so you jus’ shove!”
Sound adorable. Singing, “He is mine. I am his. Gonna get married, take his name.”
Gone the days of horse and carriage … some sensuous songs, also silent …
At this moment I am not wise, merely older, aged fifty-five;
I make amends, enjoy each tomado-love and each new accent;
Aware of so much pain, woundings, the living-but-barely-alive
So I recall how puppy love felt like fresh air, sunshine, pure
We thought the best of belle or beau
Time never existed. No bills, diapers, nothing to insure
Slobbery kisses on ears, eyes, but unashamed, secure …
When I turned a certain age; not so young and not so pure
I thought marriage was right: seemed the way to secure
Each other in love’s embrace for children, a better future …
No regrets! But I gaze at a happy marriage in old pics now.
So I say this to all poets, painters, quaint artists, saints and sinners:
Start early with puppy love, and never give up on it;
Why discuss doubling household incomes, becoming millionaires
For such talk puts dollar signs where love was beautifully reflected!
The children may yet teach us the ways of innocence
But that is the hardest job today: among adult gadgets, to remain puppies
That lick, slobber, miss the lips and kiss the eyes or chins
And yet without shame, forgetting forbidden fruit, unblinking eyes -
(Asking questions about hair, skin, color … hugs galore, even for the different)
But as to whether I advocate divorce, May I plead the Fifth Amendment?

Smallest of ants could be called a hexaped.
Ants by the millions spew from a subterranean bed.
Cast(s) of thousands work relentlessly to be fed.
Long hours of constant foraging or many go dead.
Shadows of their incessant hunger we face with dread!
