Best Known As Poems
Ohh the days have been many here
but that day her name was seen
struck a fear deep inside.
Could she really be that mean?
Time passed as her name
echoed in my head aloud.
I looked at her work in amaze
at how beautiful she can inspire
the words in poems she wrote.
Soon we were souper friends
continue to inspire others work
so they would become the best.
Contest she made work
so all could see the finest.
She will be missed here
but a destryoer she was not here.
Dedicated to my best friend the poet destroyer

Ode
you carve your words precisely
like a master does a flawless diamond
infuse your images on the head of a pin
not a letter wasted
you who
speaks from deeper within
with every new write
never one or one hundred reads suffices
each new recite reveals something new
grabs the readers heart
and we the better for it
you are the poet writes
like the brush of Van Gogh
his emotions vibrant in every stroke
every painting a work of genius
in your poetry
we find that pearl
hidden too deep for the diver
now opened and revealed
blinded by its light we see
what was once previously
invisible
now!
transparent
like the gentle prophet
you sew and lay a carpet
that sensitizes us
from the very bottom of our awareness
to the peak of our understanding
it is LOVE that enshrines your words
you!
the fabled unicorn
we
the fortunate
that by your cause
confirms
our childhood dreams
DO exist

One brother, not well-liked by me,
is friends with early light.
Born in a prior century,
he measures day from night.
He comes with neither fangs nor claws,
and yet it makes me cringe
to see him at my door because
he darkens evening’s fringe.
I much prefer his modern kin,
who from man’s tampering,
keeps coming round and round again
to greet us in the spring . . .
A rescuer this younger one!
His middle name implies
he lengthens days by helping Sun
prolong light in the skies.
That brother, Daylight Saving Time,
the one I like the best,
departs each fall. Oh, what a crime
He’s not a constant guest!

I, I don’t understand the book known as bible
The book that is mostly common to many doors
But the book that is not known and read by many souls
The book that is carried by many
But mostly it is not read and liked by any
The book that is only seen once a week
And when it is seen, it is only few pages and it’s also quick
I don’t understand this book known as bible
I don’t understand this book that has many sizes
The book that has been translated into all different world languages
But yet not be lead and understood by multitude from different families
The book that has different versions
but only one edition
the book that is wise because it was written by people with visions
I, I don’t understand this book known as bible
This is the only book that has all university course and lectures
The book that starts with the lecturer of art, where all things were designed and created
And then lectures of Agricultures have been explained as GOD Identifies the texture of soil as from it a man was created
Anatomy and physiology was firstly discussed in this book where by the position of Adam’s ribs was allocated
This was done before the first surgery class was explained as Adam’s chest was operated
This is the same book that have many lectures of history,
The book that’s explains the pharmacology, the philosophy, and the prophecy
I don’t understand this book that has everything, the book that is known as BIBLE
I don’t understand this book when it tries to explain the course of music
more especially the pharmacodynamics of the violin as it healed soul
but I get more puzzled when it comes to the 10 commandments as it was the first class of Law
but who wrote this book? Why is it that every question in this book can be answered?
And why is it that all world affairs in this book are tampered?
Why is this book regarded as the best?
This is why am in the maze of thoughts…thoughts that can’t give me rest.
I don’t understand this book known as bible

I am a banner that stands for hope and freedom,
I've been around for over 200 years,
I am the flag of the United States of America,
I am known as Old Glory.
I can be seen flying atop tall buildings,
I've passed in review to honor our Military,
Our Veterans and our Fallen Heroes,
I am a recognized symbol of liberty.
If I'm flown alongside the flags of other nations
I get respect by being flown a little higher,
My colors are red, white, and blue,
Which stand for virtue, innocence, valor,
Vigilance, perseverance and justice.
I've been in every battle from
Gettysburg, the beaches of Normandy,
Korea, Vietnam and the Persian Gulf,
I will not let any global foe deter me.
I've watched our heroes go into battle,
I've seen their bodies lying on the battlefields,
They gave their lives for the cause of freedom,
So we may maintain our democracy.
I am the flag of the United States of America,
I am a symbol of what America stands for,
Our Nation has persevered over the years,
By putting its faith and trust in Almighty God.

They say you exist,
but its only a matter if time,
until your basic human rights
slowly start to shut down,
and your forced to co-exist.
Until your basic human rights are known as a myth.

this shining burst strokes early day’s first shade
illumination flashing all corners of galaxy’s face
and this my name was marked in womb’s white lace~~
upon Dad’s request ,as training general abroad, was made
it was Mom’s first time to bear middle- child without Dad around
all present christened me many names for fond memories~~
in the end, i had four titles, certificate’s page singing melodies
Amelia for mother’s, one that’s Grandma’s ~~others subtlety profound
Dad’s desire that real name come from district he was assigned
the meaning “goddess of light”~~first morn’s crocheted shawl~~
an image painting streaks of first daybreak’s gold, brushed wall~
that it was loved by kin, a symbol stamped in family’s history designed
still, more terms of endearment were showered upon me
the nickname” Nette” and more always drifted back and forth tenderly~~
yet, it was an abbreviated moniker plucked from late 60’s modernity
for i have come to be me ,fondly known as such~~ a gypsy so free
intimate souls affix real name with tender variants dearly strewn
~~ they cherish essence of its meaning, such presence like blooming light
my being’s shades of nitrogen green and gold gush even at night’s delight
if you can second guess the enchantment of my name, it’s almost… “DAWN”

Enclosed Rhyme
At eventide, a vapor thick and cold
is creeping. Those that sleep are unaware
The world outside their homes it will enfold
as Goddess Moon hangs pouting in despair.
She can’t break through to show her light so fair.
But Dawn appears just at the break of day
and sees the sky, a canvas dripping gray.
She takes her paints and paintbrush and resolves
to paint a sky that rivals a Monet,
for art emerges as the fog dissolves!

My name is Charlie Munford
I am all Redneck, not a nerd
I have the gas sucking truck, big bald muddin' tires
I needed some money, so I sat my truck on fire
If you come over empty handed, no beer or snacks
Prepare for an old fashioned butt whippin' or you better make some tracks
Poor mannered guests make me mean
I am a legend in the Redneck community, they call me Niller Bean
I sleep among the empty beer cans and potato chip bags
I fall asleep staring at my Rebel flag
When I go grocery shopping, it is scratch and dent all the way
The discount food game I know how to play
I grab a bag of Fritos and crush them, then use a black marker and write crushed
on the outside
Every week I take the grocery store on my discount ride
I do these tactics where I can't be seen
I sign my credit card receipt as Niller Bean
People call me crazy, I am just misunderstood
If you get to know me, you will see, my intentions are good
Now I am Jammin' to some Patsy Cline
Women call me a pig, I prefer the term swine

Ballad
We were born identical
When we were created apart;
In very different wombs.
Now my mind runs to where you hide
Unobscured by camouflage
In the bright dim light of
Morally decade manmade nature.
I was created as spares for you,
But I think, and therefore I cannot
Spare you.
Spent by this affliction I no longer
See with blind crystal clarity,
But instead I begin at this end.
The invalidity of science
Has caused its own creation to
Abandon the method
For the metaphysical instead.
Twin, fear not death,
For when you are found,
You will only die to live.
Used up, you will be spared
From that exhilarating mundane
Life of genetic originality.

Perhaps being something of a contrarian and historian
I like to spend Sunday mornings playing American Top Forty reruns on the oldies station
because I enjoy the songs and stories related to me by Kemal Amin Kasem
Also known as Casey Kasem in his weekly broadcasts
He researches and answers questions I suspect nobody really asked.
Why in the biblical land down under
would anyone on this earth even wonder,
then spend so much as a minute to write a letter, and then spend a stamp to ask so they know,
“Which sibling Dutch trio has been on the Top Forty for the most weeks in a row?”
Who cares?
According to Casey, Brenda in Oregon cares.
I’m completely certain he’s lying, and I dare call shenanigans on that. Everyone knows she never cared; I declare it a fact that she’s not even a real person except on the air.
But I do enjoy the stories, and I don’t fault him for making up reasons to tell them to everyone,
such as an imaginary prompt from Brenda in Oregon
It is, after all, far less awkward that way,
And I can certainly relate,
For I, too, have a lot to say, and sadly nobody pauses to ask me about what I think or know
But that doesn’t stop me from contemplating responses to give if anyone ever asks, even if they probably won’t.
He is proof that I, too, may get someone to listen to me
Even if the audience is sometimes simply imaginary.
If I believe in the oddly curious, albeit made-up Brenda in Oregon as a beleaguered velveteen rabbit,
A reason to keep telling stories churned up from my weird inquiring habits
Maybe, like his, my mind’s audience will make itself real
maybe one day someone will care what I think and feel.
Even if he’s not here anymore I strive, as reminded in reruns each week, that no matter where we are from and who we are,
We must keep our feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars, and hope nobody cares we’re all a little bit of a liar.

Rhyme
One way to celebrate as a family
begins with everyone’s availability;
a reality to fulfill, a joy to keep
that enables one to take part
and be present with everybody.
It’s interesting to see and
be part of their identity,
a family member, a sibling soul
or a companion in a journey.
Engaging mem’ries draw –
the heartstring of love, humor
commitment and intimacy.
a great experience worth mentioning
an interaction suffused with meaning.
In the language that’s clear,
open, sincere and warm,
relationship sets the tone for everything
its interconnectedness that provides undestanding
as a common belief and a pillar
to God’s covenant of faith.
With the promptings of God’s spirit within,
generate the message to be shared
a word to live, a revelation to uphold
that a family is God’s reflection of the Trinity.
No wonder why relationship matters
in every context or sharing of truth
it’s God’s gift that grows deeper in faith
it’s God’s gift that brings unity to worship.

Concrete
Twixt Spring and Summer time,
Warm air congeals the cool and draws a line.
Far across the waters, farther than eyes can see,
Warm winds begin to dance with the currents of the sea.
Hurricane season lurks just ahead,
and WE wait, hoping for nothing that dreads.
Each season and region sparks its own havoc,
and WE learn to dance between destruction and raindrops.
WE mourn and pray,
burying our dead without delay.
WE will pause for a while and be still;
and later, WE will rise up and rebuild.
Forward and onward, our lives and times will continue to roll,
never halting our God-given tasks until the bell tolls.
After Adam's fall, WE were commanded to conquer and excel.
Made in the image of God, WE are engineered and compelled.
With destiny, WE have an inevitable date.
A new world, a new YOU and ME, and immortality await.
The sting of death will be no more,
And our God WE shall forever adore.

Usually don't know if I'm coming or going
A confused old dude is what I mean
Even sometimes put the cart before the horse
Makes for an real interesting scene
So now you know, I have finally confessed
Can't keep it a secret any longer
I'm quite a bit different from you other poets
I'm a certified strange kind of author
See things differently than most normal folks
Have a weird way of looking at things
Perhaps you've noticed, never thought to ask
Just the way my pendulum swings
Absolutely happy in this delusional state
Too afflicted to know any better
Kind of embarrassing to tell you guys this
Still known to be a naughty bed wetter
So let's get serious, my P-Soup friends
I'm as normal as the rest of you
Wait, that's not sounding too much better
Think we're all a big bunch of kooks
