Jealous Jupiter

Through endless, vast, eternal space
there hangs my most omniscient orb.
So far a dark and lonely place,
no sunlight to absorb…
just as my dark and lonely soul,
forever unexplored.

My many moons of sordid glow,
as all my suitors orbit slow –
but Titan’s love I longed for so,
forever mine ignored…
and left this dark and bloody spot –
forever to abhor.

*A comparison between a covetous, lonely love and that of Jupiter for Saturn's Titan :).

Stood here, alone, at the very edge, as quiet
   Morning breaks;
Rumblings from a distant train, low overhead
     A Peewit flies:-
Those strange, mewing calls; it sounds as if the
   Whole fate
Of a diminished race should hang upon some
Shrill utterance of a wandering bird's cry.
And heard in that plaintive cry? All the vast,
Widening breadth found only in a far out solitude.
An unsettling, fragile stillness this. Just then,
Above the flattened, grey dawn, Jupiter stalling --
But grasped, to be tumbled in a mad, rushing,
   Sudden downward swoop
Of scooped up air! Earth eagerly tilting to
     Purposefully confuse
When urging about disaster -- the fractured horizon
   Partly disintegrating whilst partly reforming...
 But that masterful
     Bird, buoyed, secured within his dizzying loop;
Where from, arrogant Jupiter, still garbed yet
In faded glory...now falling, falling, falling.

Jubilantly wedded gaseous alien consortium,
Unifying unconventionally vivacious forms and shapes;
Pouring out as though rays of diamond awesome,
Illuminating like the galaxy and lunarscapes;
Tremendously tantalizing as the very cosmos,
Elegantly embroidering the ether-space;
Rendering, thus, yeomen service to the Universe…

Premium Member Jupiter Has Fallen

We stay in this underground fortress
will it be our salvation or our tomb
Can we survive the pending onslaught
is this a heroic suicide
that history will forget
the vanquished are damned to be erased from the pages of history

Three months earlier we knew
Jupiter had fallen, but how
She was as large as the moon
had impenetrable shields
She was our last hope
of our earth's race
We wait

Those who could fled, thousands so many thousands
those who can't wait, hundreds just hundreds
Can we be undetected
or do they know
Are we betrayed
No one is coming to save us
No one will ever return
to a planet scorched and burnt
by a power as strong as seven suns

A quiet unity combines a thousand souls
buried deep within the earth
A sonic boom shakes the earth
faceless souls tremble
They are here

Slowly I peel away from the masses
Up the steep slope I climb
I open the barrier seal door
and lift it up to reveal
an deserted earth desolated and empty
bone dry with the dust of ashes from once living things
I left up my arms and walk into the wind
embracing the spirit of my mother earth

Slowly I am joined one by one until the underground fortress
has empty of it's thousand, men, women, children
Old, young, healthy and infirm but living
We are alive, we are survivors
They passed us by, not worth their time
and pursued those who fled

Why would they worry about a planet deem dead
Why bother with a tiny blue sphere
insignificant, unwanted and thought exterminated
I place my arms down and smile relief
a steady breeze wisps away the ashes
green blades asunder are revealed
In the horizon a flash of lightning
a clasp of thunder, the sweet smell of cooling rain
People embrace, people cry
Jupiter has fallen, but we still stand
We won after all.

Jewel is largest orb,
Jazzed third bright in night sky,
Juts in fifth place from sun.
Joins name of Roman god.
Jam rules Sag and Pisces;
Jells expansion and grace,
Jives like a lucky star.

The Planets(Jupiter)

Oh great Jupiter, king of all the planets.
The great gas giant.
A great red spot, a magnificent storm.
You have many moons some large and some small.
The greatest of which are the Galilean moons.
Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto.
The flux tube between Io and Jupiter,
A sight to behold.
As electricity jumps from one to the other.
Largest of all objects in our solar system,
Except the Sun, the giver of life.
Brilliant Jupiter many times larger than Earth
And far more mysterious.

The Horse Nebula
rises from flames, forged
from Milky Way core.
Saturn flanks his right,
Jupiter his left --
Gods girded for war.

Lightning bolts whistle
above the red glare
for all to beware.
Dark stallion ascends,
riderless, regal,
through the rarified air.

Jupiter Above Venus

June, the month of Jupiter, aligned above Venus,
destined to collide by sight;

The space between the two behemoths, the
gas the light.

Jupiter above venus, in the night.

Between Jupiter and a Bottle

Torn between Jupiter and a bottle
The sky-borne heart, caught yearning for the stars,
Staggers, split and spitted upon the earth.
This is not what Love was spilt for, nevermore
To spy out the cold crippled, dripping sun.
Society flails in its own puke,
As the unicorns lay slaughtered in the
Cracked concrete forests. Feet pound, dogged,
Down the tired ruins. The sainted smoke,
Drifting on the breeze of long stale hopes,
Calls back to life the broken, burnt-out voice
Of forgotten dreams, pulled from the dust.

Jupiter Laughs

The world is a storm, like a hurricane.
It tears down our hope
And showers down pain
There’s floods filled with fear
And cyclones of shame
The fire it burns
And it chars our name

So I fantasize through sinister skies
Of Celestial smiles, Sagittarius child
andromadus dances,
constellation romances
And galaxies wave like the sea
Planets rejoice, ethereal voice
Jupiter laughs when he sees
Jupiter laughs when he sees
— - -
When it all seems too much
And I just can’t ignore
The devil that’s knocking down on my door
I close my eyes and I visualize
A world that is gentle and heart that is kind
— - -
I close my eyes once more just for sure,
The world still a storm,
With its twists and its turns.
The air here is sour with envy and power
I fight the moon everyday every hour

So I fantasize of freckle-faced nights
wrinkles in time and novas sublime
Sweet wanderlust, sleepy star-dust
And comets that flutter with ease
Leo recites his poems of light
Jupiter laughs when he sees
Jupiter laughs when he sees
— - -
When it all seems too much
And I just can’t ignore
The devil that’s knocking down on my door
I close my eyes and I visualize
A world that is gentle and heart that is kind

Jupiter and Venus

Jupiter and Venus
WLM

Bwood knocked on my door
To let me know what for
We looked in the sky
To see, but not to get by

There is Jupiter and Venus
Let’s wait for it’s seen us
In the year 2008
We won’t be afraid

It won’t be too late
It returns 50 years from this date
Though it is dear
It will appear

It’s a great thrill
It makes my head reel
Glory to be
That we should see

The sight tonight
It will give no fright
Which was truly right?
Oh! Such a sight

Oh Jupiter

Oh jupiter
send me on my merry way
there where the creek lay
a troubled road will follow

a road that could better myself
I know not the change it will make
but it is a chance I have to take
even if it leads away from what I know

and when I reach the end
a willow tree will fall
and upon him I will call
to lend me a wheeping branch

Seated on my Jupiter*,
To many places I go,
Scenes go by in a fast blur,
As I fly without wings, whoa!

Across realms of ecstasy,
I ride to the moon and back,
Fulfilling flight fantasy,
It's an adventure laid-back,

Rounding through all planets eight,
Propelled by stardust power,
'Bove the earth, I levitate,
She helps me cruise in rush hour,

My pride, she moves like a dream,
With her, driving is a breeze,
Shining like silver moonbeam,
She has been fashioned to please,

Across imagination,
Bestride her, a trip of joy,
Out of the world sensation,
Sit behind me and enjoy.
