Best In And Of Itself Poems

Please Take the Time

So many times we see someone in need
Most walk by while they piteously plead
Plead for help that may not come
Plead for love because they have none
So many people just don't take the time
To support their fellow man
Like it's too much to be kind
Too much to give a helping hand
To someone who needs it, please take a stand
Stand up for the ones who cannot speak for themselves
Stand up for those who live their lives in hell
They need your help, you may be the one
That saves their life, think of your son
If he were in need and you not around
Would you want others to laugh at his frowns
To see him in need and lift not a hand
To help him up out of no man's land
You'd want strangers to aid him, I know that's true
But don't forget help can also come from you
We are all in the position to assist
I know you know that, but here's the twist
In helping others we also help ourselves
And that is a great reason in and of itself
It feels wonderful to help those in need
To sleep soundly knowing you did a good deed
So please when you see someone who has not a thing
Take time to help, it will make your heart sing

The Painted Islands

The beaches brushing Hawaii's sea blues,
in and of itself are impressive track,
perceptive picturesque color-filled views.

Like some isles, Punalu'u beach is black.
Elsewhere here, famed Kahena, sandy scene
aloft cliff's vista that aligns its back.

Punalu'u nears southernmost, you've been
in the whole USA, there lies a spread
called *Papakolea ... fanned sands of green.

Though, appropriate they're olivine, said
by officials. On Maui isle, clashed sights
of gorgeous Kaihalulu bursting red.

Truly tourist ere and now, best grade cites
isles to isles, and A-Plus our sandy whites.

Crystals In My Pocket

I have crystals in my pocket and sage on the shelf,
I’m always digging deeper to find my better self,
I’m distracted by flowers and herbs I pass by,
I’m caught up in the beauty of all that’s alive,
I track the moon’s phases and bathe in its light,
I dance in the darkness embraced by the night,
I dig in the soil and plant things that grow,
I knead wheat with water to make bread dough,
I poke cloth with needles and leave thread behind,
I’m seeking new knowledge to sharpen my mind,
I’m exploring new phases and stages of me,
I’m opening my chakras so that I may see,
I’m on a never ending journey to find myself,
I wrote this poem to show me this in and of itself.

Love contests in quantities, like numbers,
game of chance for romance by the numbers,

You and you, pick one or two, left first choose,
then right follows through ... awake the numbers,

if I was you, don't let romance wait too,
go ahead, awaken the dead ... numbers,

At last, the dead have passed, now let's see who?
Romance counts true ... encounter the numbers,

You have the Lucky Two, which means you lose,
You've one, as you've begun ... 'twas the numbers,

So stop your frets, but guess what's next; Round Two,
Where you and you will not choose the numbers,

But I will choose which one of you will step ...
aside. Let the other get the numbers,

with the roll of a dice, the one who stepped
aside, from counted steps of dice numbers,

--HOLD, break from sequence, noted facial change,
bears a consequence, shortchange the numbers,

FOCUS, understand passion, hence, begin
again, --dice rolled--, start steps to those numbers,

Distance makes the difference, the farther
you are from me, the better ... you, numbers,

Your turn, the dice have been rolled, go, distant
yourself. The dice will roll seven numbers,

This was the first, therefore, six more to go.
The Desert Tribesman's way's ... the numbers,

We live by this code of honor. Methods,
in and of itself, seems nothing ... numbers

seems nothing. The deserts way, the Desert
People ... Ancestral ties are... the numbers.

Silence

Try, try to comment!
You know how you would feel.
If hundreds read your poetry,
And forgot there is a human
Behind the pen.

You put your heart on paper
And your're passed by like
a cold breeze.
I've seen great poetry here.
Shocked by the hundreds of
poems never commented on,
A great loss indeed.

One feels like there is an
In Club,
Into which one has to fit.
But, truly a poet should not
even consider this.

Share your joy, beauty or
or pain.
Be an individualist, that is
our terrain.
I salute every poet here..
The prized and the prize-
less.

Each poem a thing of beauty
A song in and of itself.
Each poet, I acknowledge.
How could I do anything else?

The Meaning of Thanksgiving

The Meaning of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a Blessing in and of itself,
Not something, that just sits upon a shelf.
An act of giving, a symbol of gratitude,
An expression of love, displayed through attitude!

Thanksgiving is a Blessing in and of itself,
A prayer for those, less fortunate then oneself!
It’s a day spent with family, friends, or foe,
A greeting or sentiment, by wire or telephone!

Thanksgiving, is a Blessing in and of itself,
Not something that just sits upon a shelf.
It’s a holiday tradition, cumulated by a hearty feast
Celebrated by many from the North, South, West and East!

From the twilight of absolution - he spoke in cliché, the fantasy of living his dream
having seen and done all the things he ever hoped to see and do, in moderation.
Yet, moderation, in and of itself, can be self destructive to the inquisitive self within,
fortunately, that nagging search of perfection which we all deniably seek, ended
for him, as the questions affectionately died in the growing of a new relationship.

She answered in riddles, softly smiling, relishing the thought of his consternation
a long distance friendship involving a badminton-like banter of wordmanship
a decade of age separated their experiences, yet, it only enlivened the language,
in all likelihood, they would never meet, surely, he had been part of a past soul group?
Day by day, words pinged and ponged, hopefully, into cyberspace, infinity and beyond!

Tiger

That golden arrow
And flickering flame
Ceases the tigers rage
But not forever
No not forever the tiger will grow like the fire one day
And shine like that golden powerful arrow

Tiger tiger
you can not be trapped in such a feeble way
And you know that
you are patiently waiting to rise
And I fear plenty for the trappers
I know for myself that this tiger
Does not pity
Tiger tiger
This cage of light will be destroyed
You are in no way forced to stay here just dreaming of what could be
Wishing upon stars tiger
This isn’t you
Your stripes have an illusionary power
Tiger tiger
Your eyes pierce the surface of the sky
Your lonliness will spread among the earth like an endless fog
But you will never admit it to the world
Because the war is not over until you have won
Tiger tiger
You are life in and of itself
You are light in it’s simplest form
Tiger tiger
The tears you shed,
Are powerful tears of not sadness
But anger
You will escape this cage
I do not fear for you
And although you and I are close
I know that one day you are bound to escape
And never look back once
I cannot follow you
It is not my life style
and
You cannot stay it is not yours either
But by fate we are bound to met again at least once before we die
At least once is nice
Just fine
So when I return
And you have disappeared leaving nothing but your collar
In your place
I will not be saddened
I will not shed a tear
Because you will be happy
Tiger tiger
May you live in peace
Free forever under the firelight sky pounding the earth with your legs
And running as far as you wish
Forever and away
Tiger tiger

The Gret of Regret, Soliloquy

I remember, but naught too well, the first time of Hellboy, an earthy creature, a-must-be, heaven would naught have created a being such as he, and after all, he's naught an "it", oh no, for he thinks -- methinks, much too straight-forwardly and on his feet to boot. Move before they do and always get to the upper hand of things, seems to be his John Madden playbook of the '70s. Why bother with logic and reason when Hellboy is dealing with fragile minds bent on world conquest.

The Golden Army, the Hellboy movie I've seen some years ago when my kids, were kids -- and I being the eldest. Vagueness plagues me to no end, but the inkling gist was a brother and sister duo, but sadly, naught so much so, for sister played her own brother and teamed with Hellboy instead. The telltale sign envisioned in the frat's eyes, being the wherewithal, their Ides of March to be -- in arrears, of betrayal. To be undone by the one, by the very one.

Life can be fleeting but we came to know that honor fleets faster. Though the appearance of its angle for the perspective of the movie was considered simply as a sidetrack sorta thing, yet in and of itself, became the films main attraction, piquing interest within the audiences already situated in full enjoyment of the twist, and how it will all play out in that, edge-of-the-seat moment. Alas, ambiguity wins at the end, for death did occur, but whose? Naught Hellboy, I'm certain of that!

WISE WORDS WAIT, while foolish intellect speaks,

conceits of mind, holier than thou, to no avail.

Separates poor minority from select's special conceit elite!

The WHITE__ BLACK hat syndrome, the democrat, the republican,

As precept morality(Love) versus double minded,

double standard, wickedness of mind level concepts,

Premium Member Luck of My Draw

The first luck of the draw I have received -
The very moment I have been conceived!

Not you, not them but me, myself and I,
Blessed my joyous parents with newborn cry.

From there my fortune dazzled in full force
Welcoming me with open arms and doors.

I’ve learnt fate wasn’t kind to all of us,
I haven’t been run over by a bus.

I graduated, settled down to thrive
In grief and sorrow free prosperous life.

My family not fleeing from the war,
Luck in and of itself, I’m grateful for.

I pause to count my blessings every time
I hear about a victim of a crime.

My healthy children happily have grown -
Mom’s heart at peace, they manage on their own.

I watched my parents growing old indeed
To hold their fragile hands when they’re in need.

A perfect life by all means I don’t have,
But guaranteed it has been filled with love.

Above all I’ve lived long enough to find
So desperately sought - a peace of mind.

Enough of doom and misery I saw
To deem my living path - luck of the draw!

The Hawaiianism of Ho'oponopono

A word, astir, in undulating waves surges and awash a clear open black shoreline of Hawaii nei, as it recedes in cycles dashing back to an instant, springing forth that word grasped first in mumblings made by a question from what comes later.

Hawaiiana has amongst the narrowed rudiments containing 12 alphabets; 7 consonants; H - K - L - M - N - P - W, plus 5 vowels; A - E - I - O - U. In its wake, Hawaiians have improvised their grammar by accommodating words to include more than one meaning, it is known as, "equivocal". A different way of supplementing their shortfall via letterings is by repeating words, whereto, two aspects emerge, firstly and the most prevalent variant of Hawaiiana repeats is, word pluralization, simply by adding the 's' at the end, sort of speak. Then secondly is word emphasization, or best to be known as, word empowerment.

"Ho'o" is an energetic prefix, in and of itself though insignificant in the Hawaiiana context as a stand-alone word, implying "to make or making". In this example, the base word, "pono", is an equivocal word. In no respective order, first; moral qualities, uprightness, and decency. Second; a clear understanding, completeness, and being thorough. Third; correctly fulfilled, proper procedures, and accuracy. Fourth; prosperity, welfare, benefit, and equity. There remain several meanings that essentially are extensions of the foregoing.

Nevertheless, when the base word is repeated, then "Ho'oponopono" basically means to, "make right a wrong". The Hebrews call it "Kaphar".

Back to mumbling and anticipation as a kid faced up to grownup legs. A worn grimace is yon about pause steadily. Quizzative looks around the room and tempts a peek past the formidable figure that blocks nearly the whole of him. The aged utter clarity, "E pule ho'oponopono kakou", (Let us pray for correcting our wrongdoing), afterward, an amended kid embraces the closing answer, "Ae, ho'omaika'i ia oe", (Yes, victory is yours). On the whims of a pendulum, Ho'oponopono wanes as a learnt man winds a clock up to speed.

Lunatic Lunacy

Let there be no doubt—the human mind is a curious
and most fragile entity in and of itself in all situations.

The border line between sanity and lunacy speaks to
the fate that some of us in our mortal world must face.

A troubled spirit, by the very hand and intent of God,
speaks to a cruelty that’s not worthy of the Almighty.

A nibbled mind over time may reveal a state of true
insanity that speaks to and reveals a human tragedy.

The state of human lunacy gives our white-coated
doctors something to ponder in this so crazy world.

A lunatic may indeed suffer from a state of incurable
lunacy—yet, no wonder, look at the world we live in.

Expedience of Blank and Block

Expedience Of Blank And Block
              Peculiar Particles Advance

Blank is observed out of context
Things go faster than light
As part of nature’s plan
Block likes spaces that occupy themselves at the same time
Erratic perplexing specs of light that can’t abide sight detection
Blank lifts itself in like manner to perpetual inclinations
As they are not there and don’t exist
Particles are very precise unknowables
Block takes science to other levers in critical manner
Balances them there in introspective specifications
Immeasurable yet tamed by nuclear forces
Resonating in the void
Blank takes on new meaning not in and of itself
Devices, instruments, technological eyes quell
That matter stored and stopped in place
Equivalent is the stare of Blank to that end
Block is on the side of reason in speculation
Particles never harm the edge of their universe existence
The expedience of Blank and Block meanders on
In countless computations

Simon Kerplunkle

Simon Kerplunkle was his name to many;
A story in and of itself, was he -
To hang from a nail for punishment,
For all of eternity.
Lo, they did not know from whence it had came,
Nor why he never came down;
They plotted and schemed about all sorts of dreams,
But no answer was speedily found.
He hung there for years just telling his tales,
About all the ghosts he had knew.
A pint of ale, he’d say, got him down,
But that lie was never a truth.
Some say he was hung there for taunting the wife,
Of a man that was terribly jealous.
And others say he was the brunt of some crime,
from a fiercely religious old zealot.
But Simon would spin a few tales of his own,
And the whole town would drop by to listen -
To Mr. Kerplunkle, that wily old man,
Who hung there upon his nail, smitten.
One night as they waited, so baited to hear
Another of Simon’s great fables,
He breathed his last breath and the nail rusted out
And he lay there atop of a table.
That dawn the whole town had gone to his grave
To read the last story he’d tell -
The words on a gravestone were deeply engraved
And what a strange sight they beheld.
It said,

                “Here Lies Simon Kerpunkle
Who hung on a nail -
In his final words he did recite:
‘It was either I hang here for all of my days
Or go home and face the mad wife‘.”
