Best In A Flash Poems

Premium Member Life Goes By In a Flash

Life goes by in a flash is a
famous quote/ saying. The
longer I live on this earth
I’ve found that quote/ saying
to be true. This year 2020
has made a believer out of
me. I’ve seen so many people
pass away like never before.
( Family, Friends, Celebs,
Strangers).Due to COVID-19
and other things. All these
things remind that life is fragile.
However, it will always be what
you make of it. So live it to the
full.Make your mark( in whatever
capacity that is).Because life
really does go by in a flash.Try
to give your flowers to the living
while they can still smell and
appreciate them. And I will try to
do likewise. While I’m still able to
smell the sweet scent of the roses.

Happening In a Flash

6/24/17

Doing the bare minimum, or max
Won't always be the first or last
Near and far from waters with or without bass
Walking and running on grass
Driving slow or fast, still using gas
Seeing through my own eyes and often glass
Not spending time at any religious mass
Just taking out the trash
Walking down my own path
With an occasional laugh
Thinking toward the future, in the present and back into the past
So much pettiness and ******** over cash
Things being drawn out or happening in a flash
Just like that
All across the map
In and out of any habitat
Areas in sunlight or pitch black

Places with none, one or multiple bird baths
Similar and different temperatures on thermostats
Ah, the great old debate about whether or not the Earth is flat

Meanwhile time continues to elapse
Across a rather vast
Expanse full of life such as plants
And ants

Of all of the twists and turns,
that writing can take;
the realms, it can build
and the beings,
a writer creates.

The travels in space
and universes to behold;
dark places and spaces,
with things lurking at night
and the magic and miracles;
of imagination’s flight.

All the places,
one can go;
within the land of words,
oh, how one can grow.

They could end up,
being dumped from memory,
as garbage in and garbage out;
is dumped from a computer;
when no dictionary, is around.

So, think on these things,
my literary friends;
although it’s hard to admit,
that a dictionary, is just a book.
In all of your writing life,
how often have you had,
to take a second look.

Over In a Flash

Remove a person from the world
Yet time keeps ticking by,
For those remaining live their lives
As if they’ll never die.

Our presence on the earth is fleeting,
Over in a flash.
We flounder, fret or frolic
But we ultimately crash.

Though each of us accumulates
A varied stack of days,
We may squander, use or hoard them
But we’re never granted stays.

So we really can’t control the age
When we will cease to be.
When our time is up, the wheels still turn
In perpetuity.

In a Flash

The sun shines
Close your eyes
Full of so much light
They cry
Pupils dilate
Start to infatuate
There's no wait
Open your eyes
See the world so bright
A happy sigh
Watch the trees go by
Full of life

gone in a flash

Immortality Is Fanciful

Like antique china that slips through clumsy fingertips
Shattered into tiny fragments
Unrepairable, unreplaceable
A blameless mistake
It's beauty disintegrates
Never to be appreciated again
By future enthusiasts

Like a daisy tweaked from the vast landscape
Once admired by all that stumbled upon it
Basking in the summer sun
Life dragged from its roots
Crippled at its fragile stem
It will never grow again
Petals float onto a zephyr
Carried away to where distant memories lie

Like A man surrounded by family, promises,
All snatched spontaneously away.
that love that encapsulates him
At first a void remains, as his memory lives on
Until it becomes so vague
It inevitably expires

In a Flash!

In a flash-! Before you can blink an eye
In a flash-! Before you can say good-bye
With a blast-! Of his horn at the Midnight Cry
He will catch-! Us away up in the sky (Chorus)

When the saints are all caught away
For some it will dawn, for some, midday
For others it will be evening, for some, night
But for all of us who are walking in the Light
It should not be a terrible great surprise
Like those who will mourn with open eyes
Since we expect Him, we must watch and pray
And haste Christ's great and glorious Day

(Chorus)

Some of us who are Heaven bound
Will be above and some underground
Some will be in the sky, some in the sea
And who knows where others may or may not be
But one thing's for sure, make Christ your choice
For all of us who will hear His voice
Shall be changed, first, the sleep shall awaken
They shall fly, then we who are ready shall be taken

In a flash-! Before you can blink an eye
In a flash-! Before you can say good-bye
With a blast-! Of his horn at the Midnight Cry
He will catch-! Us away up in the sky (Chorus)

Destroyed In a Flash

Just a few small words spoken in vain
an act of selfish pity and pain
Trust destroyed in a flash
The love in your eyes totally replaced
by the hatred of things that cannot be erased
Your love destroyed in a flash
Memories of the past are left to die
as you are left to wonder why
your life was destroyed in a flash
Take sweet comfort in the pain
that is driving me completely insane
My soul destroyed in a flash
No other love will ever be
greater than the memory of you and me
My forever destroyed in a flash

Over In a Flash

The holidays come and go in a flash,
after months of preparation,
organizing decorations,
Picking out the perfect tree,
shopping with glee,
In a flash comes the end of the
gaiety and revelrie,
A big crescendo ends on a light note,
The partying,
The gift-giving,
The wonderful sentiments,
come to a halt,
Then, the world goes back to playing
their real-life parts.

Everyone wants to be in a flash mob
This statement came from my strange neighbor Bob
I don’t, I said, and neither does my cousin Rob
We do! Said a scarecrow, a rake and a corn cob

Sixty years flashed by in one big blur
A life with scatterings of luck and good times
No, I certainly can’t complain ~
Obstacles and challenges made me who I am today

Could have tried harder but harbor no remorse
I figure I’ll be ready to face my Maker
But till then, I’ll strive to live at least a few more years ~
Long enough to compensate for wasted time along the way

In a Flash

In a flash,
     the time slides,
     the game turns,
    the world changes...!

Life In a Flash

In this life so much memory, remembrance
but so suddenly, everything is past
