Premium Member The Dark Poet

She writes of darkness like her soul’s been sold
But deep inside she has a heart of gold
Words brought on by a darkened past
At times she prayed that she would breathe her last
There was no one that she could turn to
When suddenly the light came shining through
Her life was changed from an endless curse
Now she puts her story in poetic verse
Overcoming her fears and the urge to kill
She used her poems as a coping skill
From an angel of darkness she ascended
To an angel of light completely mended
So read the dark poet, it’ll give you a start
But please be careful, she’ll steal your heart.

Belly Dancer

I walked in and found a chair,
And sat down and saw you there;
The light was shining, the light was low,
The candle flickered soft and slow.

The lonely music filled the night,
I felt right then my heart take flight;
The voice that taunts behind the veil,
Haunting echoes that sob and wail.

Hips that glide with slow gyrations,
Arms that weave with undulations;
Languid eyes touched with kohl,
Whisper words to flame the soul.

The sounds of that persistent beat,
Soothe the brow with passion's heat;
Lost in the scene that ignites my eye,
Heats my skin and makes me cry.

You move thro night and cast your spell,
And thoughts I think I'll never tell.
Let's pretend there'll be no end,
For you are more to me than friend;

I want to take you in my arms,
And feel the warmth that never harms;
I play on the strings of love's romance,
As you swing and sway in a belly dance

Enchanted

A lonely walk home midsummer in the darkness of the night,
Through the woodland copse with the moon the only light.
A feeling she was being watched raised the hairs upon her neck,
She bent her head down and walked on, increasing her step.

Out of the corner of her eyes she saw a golden ray of light,
It seemed to swallow up the sky and illuminate the night.
She turned and looked again, but the light was there no more,
So she blinked and shook her head, what was it that she saw?

She turned and walked towards where she thought the light had been,
Looked around for some clue as to what she thought she’d seen.
Her imagination was running wild, but she trusted her eyesight,
And knew she’d not imagined that enormous shining light.

Walking back the way she come, she heard rustling in the bushes,
Hesitantly she listened, surrounded in darkness she was nervous.
She heard a small child like whimper coming from a hedge behind,
So she made her way towards it, dreading what she’d find.

On reaching it she heard laughter, yet there was nothing there,
Then she heard footsteps and snapping twigs everywhere.
A strange yellow mist was rising from the ground,
Childish laughter rented the air, in the night the only sound.

She felt something brush her leg, yet there was nothing there,
Her scalp was prickling, she felt something moving in her hair.
She suddenly felt the wetness of a kiss upon her cheek,
Completely took her by surprise, she couldn’t move or even speak.

In the kiss she felt a heart so pure in the magic of this night,
Nothing seemed to matter now, and every thing felt right.
And then she heard a voice whisper softly in her ear,
I do not mean to harm you, there is nothing you should fear.

She felt a presence, she knew not what, but all the while was calm,
Believing in the words she’d heard, that she would not be harmed.
Then as quickly as it happened, she knew she was once again alone,
Whatever happened to her, to this day, is still not known.

Magic

My name is Jasper and I'm a master of illusion.
With the secrets of the magical slide of hand.
Cards changing from spades to hearts.
Coins coming from out of your ears.
The mind of a great magic man.
To make a rabbit come from a hat.
Something will disappear and reappear.
A lady will float in the air or cut a man in half.
Fire balls come from my palms as I start the show.
Everyone is welcome so come right in.
Have a seat and let Jasper begin with Abracadabra.
All of the sudden the stage is completely dark
and Jasper puts a light bulb in his mouth then
twists his ear and the light bulb comes on.

If You Knew

Heaven was an idle thought
And I am --
I have been the dry bones in the desert.

If you knew black boughs
and residue of dreams
you would know

Heaven was an idle thought
And that I am --
I have been the dry bones in the desert.

If you knew light hovers
behind these blinds (navy blue)
and that light bulbs are as crypts
to a morning's mistaken light,
then you would know.

Heaven was an idle thought
dreamt by a little boy
carried to bed in late evening,
lying in a dark room before the light had fled.
You would know that I am --
ribs gleaming, luminous fragments
pieced together with care.
You would know
that I have been the dry bones in the desert.

If you knew that today the world is sapped
and the colors have fled
that we are moored together by brown patches
you would know
that the green of your eyes
is a lighthouse's beam
and though you have built towers of my hair
                                     mountains of my skin,
and though against my bones,
your bones have lain,
you would know
we are a reflection in a sun
stretching dying arms of orange.

And if you knew --
You would know --
Heaven was an idle thought
And I am --
I have been the dry bones in the desert.
You would know

that Heaven was --
that Heaven was --
that I am --
and that Heaven was --

The Darkness Comes

The sun is setting is it allready that time?
tonight it won't happen I'm going to be fine.

Switch on the light and padlock the door,
but the bulb starts to flicker til the light is no more.

Footsteps get louder until a deafining thud!
I'll get under the covers, I think that I should.

The loud heavy breathing that horrible smell,
who would believe me? who could I tell?

Dear God please protect me, I pray keep me safe,
my covers my shield. my sword is my faith.

I think happy thoughts as I twiddle my thumbs,
must I always endure this when the darkness comes?

Moonlight Magic

The night was fickle as November
A time when all sleep in slumber;
A moist mist hangs over the river,
And a still cold moon hangs as a sliver.

A soft liquid light captures the glow,
Of the first few flakes of new fallen snow;
She shines her light on turret towers,
And tucks in bed the sleeping flowers.

Her crescent rides through clouds that fly,
Shining on wolves as they howl and cry.
Etching the transient phantoms of night,
As wings of an owl brush the dust of flight;

The crystalline light shines on lovers,
Yet pale and still the moonlight hovers;
To tip with silver the restless waves,
And on tombstones marking silent graves.

Cast your moonbeams, cast them down,
As you float in your silver crown;
And the ribbon of dawn will wrap your head,
And put your shining eye to bed.

Blown Away ( Did the World End Today ? )

Blown Away ( Did The World End Today ? )

Falling in the ashen dusk
Quiet streets are lined
Laying beneath a pinked and rose set sky
Everything painted in the same warm washed hue

And blown away

Far beyond the horizon speaks
Where lonely clouds dream of peaks
Snow and rain and not sun and sand
Offers them a helping hand

As they are blown away

Falling there amidst the green
Fronded palms wave gentle to the sea
The dusking sky with its rim of pinks
Takes hours to breath its sigh cuddles the sun as she sinks

Other realms in windows lit
Reflect upon the playing day
And in the corners were the webs have grown
Dark and subtle words have shown

They were blown away

Blown away

Breezing whisper of dunes and Sahara

All blown away

Blown away

In ribbons the fairy lights of streets
Telegraph messages of silent peace
To rest their tired skipping feet
On the other side of dawn

Tracing the patina of yesterday
Theirs in wisps and sheen of blues and greens
The Earth revolves
So far away

And blown away

What did you say

Blown away

As a kiss the failing light redeems
All and everything
Converging in its blanket breath
And smiles for a moments rest

And blows away

And in the waking the light is cleaned
Each and everything
Has a brand new name
Although they look the same

They were all blown away

And in the waking as the light is cleaned
You and me and everything
Are given a brand new name
Although we look the same

We know we where

Blown away

What did you say

We were blown

Blown away

The Rose

Her body is tall and slender and her veins surround her soul.
The shadows of light change about her as the
                    day fades into tomorrow.
Torn from her grounded past, she is now severed from thy
growth which nurtured that soft petaled form of hers.
Sown with her roots, will she grow and flower now she lay
                   naked like beauty unseen.
The clouds of time gather around and rain down on her
                spoiled pastel coloured shape.
Gripping hold of the last remaining lantern of light
she bows her head and dies.

The Golden Light Of Evening

In the golden light of evening
when the day is letting go
I sit among the shadows
and watch the fires' grow.

Bewitched, it's beauty lures me,
like a sirens' song it calls
to embrace me with it's loveliness
as evenings curtain falls.

With a sigh I let it take me
where it leads me I will go
for I am promised rapture
within its' amber glow.

Basking in the shining glory
of this heavenly display
from my weary heart is lifted
all my burdens of the day.

Then as the suns last brilliant rays
prepare for final flight
it reaches out with lovers arms
to kiss the world goodnight.

Held captive by this beauty
my sorrows fade away
and I have gained the treasure
of the golden end of day.

Light Bright

Light Bright Light Bright
Please put me to sleep
When I wake please turn on
To a swan I meet.

All the bulbs one by one
I put them in and sing a song
I make my fantasies all come true
My world green and sometimes blue

You light my life when I am down
I sit and play with you on the ground
I make it dark with only you
Lit up to make a an eery hue

At times I just create like the wind
Nothing in mind I just begin
When I'm done I look and smile
I can work for quite a while

As an adult still appreciate
I can, sit, imagine and create
I wish i still had you here with me now
I'd salute you, I kneel and bow.

Sunlight In Her Leaves and Branches

Sunlight touch this maple hair
The scent of ginger in the air
Spread fresh light upon her face
Bring fresh light to fill this space
I know, you’ve been here, once before
Put sunlight in her leaves and branches

Perhaps, a Darker Self...

Let me give you what words don’t represent
To shoulder you of burdens needless to bare
Of anything or perhaps of the world to resent
To see a different light of clarity to dare

With a drop to where ripples form
Of a touch to where wavelets will desire
A place where ****** was born
The ever unquenchable tingle of sensual fire

Imagine if you would, envision if you could
This place where neither reality nor dreams can charm
A possibility almost impossible to take root
A one place spiritless in spirit to have come undone

Where have you belong before?
Is it some place you never wanted once to be?
Of a lifetime to expel to once again recall
Yet to never see what there belong in actuality to see

And I am to you as the dark
A darker side of things in comparison to compare
In comfort only can I soothe the heart
To have a different light of clarity to dare

From Silence

From silence only a light survived.
And shadows are taking the lead.
Thoughts fall into silence,
like flowers in the field,
lost at the path,
tracks of a bird.
From silence only a light survived.
A shadow on the way,
a game in the leaves,
like a fine mirror.
From silence only a shadow suvived,
from light only silence.
