My Little Ice Storm
Cold hands, warm heart
or so the saying goes.
But I've been told that through my veins
a river of ice only flows!

With the coldest of looks that could freeze you
at fifty yards and more
I'm told I have a heart of stone
that's chilled right to its core!

But this...

Ice Storm - Haiku
Crystal branches crack,
a sharp wintry orchestra,
flowing through the air.

Light cascades on snow,
diamonds falling from the sky,
meet the shining earth.

Icicles hanging,
precariously balanced,
show beauties danger.

The winter ice storm,
in all her harshness and rage,
has shown her beauty....

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

An Ice Storm
Winter is slamming my lovely town with an ice storm,
giving it a resemblance of an alpine village
not nestled in pines, but with bigtooth aspens so tall;
I should be at work today, not wallowing in rage.

The backyard trees are weighed down
by the icy snow,...

Ice Storm
It started with the freezing rain,
the curse of winter time,
turning all into slick black glass
on every road you find.

Then came on all the pelting sleet,
pins and needles outside,
you can hear it as it hits home,
adding mass where it lies.

The skier wishes it was snow,
while drivers...

An ice storm to end all ice storms just hit us big time
Like riding a motorized sleigh spinning round on a dime
Swallowed my dentures
A totally wild adventure
What in hell am I thinking, I'm still in my prime?

Huh! ...

An ice storm can be really deadly
Drive with care and try not to get edgy
Just glide along
What could go wrong
The guy behind pushed me ahead just gently...

Cancel email came after work
So of course three of us missed it
Other nine stayed off the ice
Comfy in their jammies
Eating sweet warm toast
Watching TV
Annoying

Fire and Ice
Fire and ice!
The former burns into smoke,
The latter melts into water!
You can stop a fire by water,
But never can you stop water from flowing.
She might turn into vapour if you boil her off by the fire,
But she will soon condense to become a solid ice.
The...

Crystal Kingdom
Crystal kingdom shining bright
holding vigil through the night.

Crystal province over dale
beyond the wide sunny vale.

Crystal armies command the eve
sentinels to all they cleave.

Crystal empire glinted glare
icy soldiers stop and stare.

Crystal forces hold the line
sunshine coming soon to shine.

Crystal troops retreating gone
vanquished by the wintry dawn.

Valiant efforts to try to resist
Glistening white frost gloating to stay.
Outside movement stops a whiteness subsist.
Trees harden as soldiers, not any sway.
Laid naked, hold fast in the stark of day.
Cold current bristle clouds nondescript gray.

Mother Nature’s thermostat set on freeze,
Favorite evergreens frozen to the ground

Ice Hangings
David J Walker

My backward
Paradise
Has entered an
Extended season
Of unexpected ice

Unwelcomed
Not needed in
The February storm

That formed after an
Abnormally warm week
Of unwinter like weather

Winter has moved back in
decorating with
ice hangings like
stalactites formed
over a week of
bitter cold nights
that at any...
