Best Hardly Poems
You thought, you broke my heart when you walked out
Well old friend, have I got some news for you?
It stung a bit, of that there is no doubt
But honey, I was anything but blue
The day you left, I bought a Cadillac
I bought myself some diamonds for some bling
My love train kept on rollin' down the track
And all I left behind was big smoke rings
See, girls like you, give women a bad name
And guys like me, look out, for girls like you
The only thing you got from me was shame
Now, you're the one who's left singing the blues
You were a pane of glass right from the start
And by the way, I never had a heart

Can Hardly Wait
Remember when I did have a delightful dream
About such a smooth running soothing stream;
Drifted down and into river soon started to feed;
Sorted through seeming to fulfill my each need.
God created and designed a miracle only for me
Which was to release my soul and set heart free,
So that in Him could continue to steadily believe
Everything about God always and gently receive.
Enjoyed and loved God's stream in many ways
While I would offer and give Him all my praise;
Am amazed at what God with my poems can do
I had written about dreams He made come true.
Even my famous friend who by many is refuted,
Much more into great poems God has included;
What a privilege it us for us to communicate;
Read next philosophical poem can hardly wait.
Jill and I will be leaving Raleigh-Durham airport
on May 17th heading for London. We will be staying
at Park Place Victoria Hotel. We then will be leaving
going through Stonehenge to South Hampton, England
where our ship the Crown Princess will be moored at.
It will be leaving on May 21st for Guernsey Island,
Ireland, Scotland, Normandy and back to South
Hampton. Hope to be seeing my world renown
poet friend Terry Cooper and his gorgeous wife June
on May 20th at his glorious home that is in Basildon,
Essex, England. Wanted to make sure his wife June
is doing okay.

Stuck in my head,
All of those tears I've shed,
So many times I've bled,
Now you're here in their stead.
Missing your hazel eyes,
As soft as the skies,
I'll think of you tonight;
You're all thats on my mind.
A love like ecstasy;
Who knew It'd set us free?
Others are so soon to disavow,
But just look who's laughing now.
Now I implore you
To ignore the disarray
Of all things fake surrounding us
Because we're whats real today.

When but three months old we sadly passed you to God's eternal care.
His promise of seeing you again one day consoled us in our despair.
What might you have become, dear Mark, had fate not dealt you so?
A doctor, a minister, a teacher? Alas, that we shall never know.
We hardly knew ye, lad.
Although you blessed our lives for just a little while,
We shall never forget your sweet face and precious smile.
Your sisters were so proud to have had a little brother,
And you were the apple of our eyes to me and your Mother.
We hardly knew ye, son.
Although your time with us on earth was all too brief,
We were comforted by God and His angels in our grief,
Knowing that at the end of life's perilous earthly bourne,
We'll hold you once again one glorious and joyous morn!
We hardly knew ye, Mark.

I hardly know you,
and yet I know you,
for your heart beats,
just as steady as mine.
You breathe the air,
and it fills your lungs,
Just as it fills mine,
with the evidence of life.
I hardly know you,
and yet I know you,
For I see past,
your emotional mask.
I see you,
for who you are,
Not for who,
you are trying to be.
I hardly know you,
and yet I know you,
Just as a fish,
knows the depths of the sea.
I look into your eyes,
and see you for you,
I see the truth that they hold,
not the lies that sit on the surface.
I hardly know you,
and yet I know you,
For I love you,
more than words can describe.

"I look at Uncle Roger as a blessing to our family, for he taught our family to view all people with more humanity." (loosely quoted, paraphrasing what my cousin Sylvia said to me at my dad's funeral this summer)
Here is a picture of my father, Roger Miller.
See how brightly he smiles; how sweet his eyes are.
My mom met him in the Navy before he left for Korea.
She tells us he was Valedictorian and star athlete in his high school.
When she met him, he was very personable, but the man in this photo. . .
I hardly knew him.
This is the best picture I have of him because I have so few!
I hardly knew him.
When he returned from war, mental illness followed; it consumed him.
In those days there was no decent treatment for schizophrenia.
My dad grew sicker and my mom was forced to leave him,
taking her four daughters back with her, far away, to Iowa.
Responsible and kind, my dad sent money monthly for his daughters.
He corresponded with us by mail and drove out a few times to see us.
However, I felt detached from him; I had so many questions for him.
I visited him as he lay dying this year in a hospital, hoping for answers.
He said little. His eyes - so much like mine – were still beautiful, but
I hardly knew him.

Excuse me miss...I didn't mean to alarm you
But I noticed your beauty from a mile away
I stand before you and here to slow ya walk
Maybe we can try to talk...
Compare and contrast our feelings in which
We can maybe one day make it a bond.
Living in Twin Galaxies...in which I feel as if I was
Put in a fairy tale with once upon a time beginning and
Happily ever after as my ending
Mel is what they call me
The Most Efficient Lover is something I define myself as
I may look like a guy with all talk....
But catch the message that I am sending
To build a new relationship with
A person with hips who sway through the wind
Baby girl I aint pretending.
Y=Mx+b the equation for slope in which describe our relationship perfectly because
as I rise and make my way
Into your heart
There is no reason for one to run
Why should their be a reason 2
Not fully understanding what makes you a glorious
Individual
I stand strong like Goliath
As I fight my way through battles
And shielding myself with all the negativity
I stand victorious and hold my head up because I met some on as special as you.
Challenging myself to go through different
Basically im trying to have a buddy who rider dies
The one I can claim and say its all mine
Because cute doesn't define your beauty
You went beyond the line called Fine.
Try to make it in these streets in which we call
Society
I write this poem not because im not anxious
and doing this out of anxiety
A real man doesn't call you his property
That aint cool.....
Let me hold you under my wing I will show you
How a real man take care of his lady
Where did I learn this.... Let me thank the 2 individual who raised me.

my aunt lived in an apartment with a sickly tree next to it
crowded between two other lots in the middle of the city
there were men around and I got to meet my cousins
she was younger than me and he was older and I related
she wanted to show me something
we went upstairs and hid under the bed
where there was a hardly legal magazine
She knew about because someone had shown her
later mom told me about how much she hated her sister
but I already knew why

Eyes that filled up as i heard the news
Never occurred to me, of what I could lose
Tears fall from my eyes, I can't even see
Deep down inside, you are always with me
I think about you everyday
But there is nothing left for me to say
I still don't understand the reason why
I have not witnessed the others cry
The fact that you are out of pain,
is the only thing that keeps me sane
Although I'm sad you had to go
the thought of you gone keeps me in woe
And i prayed to God that he would allow you to stay
But the result was, that he took you away
And although I hardly got to see your face
My prayers now, are that you are in a safe place
And the fact that we will always be together
Makes my spirit rise, the thought of being with you forever
And i thank the Lord for taking you to that place
You're my Hero, my Protector, and my Saving Grace

I’m plundered by my lack of will
And, all my timid thought
The life I lead is time-to-kill
I feel my conscience rot
My heart had planted empathy
But, thorns would grow and thrive
And now, they get the best of me
I’m hardly still alive
The flesh it felt, my heart replaced
But, you won’t see me grieve
For now, you know: I’m doubly-faced
And, all I built will leave
Instead of lust for Love or fear
I’m purposely bereft
Although I hear Her in my ear
My will to try had left...
