Hardly Knowing You

Eyes that filled up as i heard the news
Never occurred to me, of what I could lose
Tears fall from my eyes, I can't even see
Deep down inside, you are always with me
   I think about you everyday
   But there is nothing left for me to say
   I still don't understand the reason why
   I have not witnessed the others cry
The fact that you are out of pain,
is the only thing that keeps me sane
Although I'm sad you had to go
the thought of you gone keeps me in woe
   And i prayed to God that he would allow you to stay
   But the result was, that he took you away
   And although I hardly got to see your face
   My prayers now, are that you are in a safe place
And the fact that we will always be together
Makes my spirit rise, the thought of being with you forever
And i thank the Lord for taking you to that place
You're my Hero, my Protector, and my Saving Grace
