Best Gumdrop Poems
Beyond five-color-banded rainbow is fairyland
nestled deep in fragrant flowered valleys.
Comforting breezes flow when giant wings expand
flying baby blue skies over gumdrop alleys.
Sweet confetti sprinkle marmalade mountain peaks
towering high above cotton candy clouds.
Cool chocolate milk flows through giant rivers and creeks
snaking its way amidst huge ravenous crowds.
Warm gingerbread houses line fairyland hamlet
tucked away near dark-fudge-mud-cake talus.
It rains sugar crystal tears without getting wet
however; mint green grass grows regardless.
Fairies travel miles to turn teeth into money
do so more often to add a big smile.
Although they look and dress kind of funny
their sure kindness never runs out of style.
Not everyone is a fairy in fairyland
sprouting wings is very hard to achieve.
One must be gentle and have a kind hand
but most of all, they must believe.

It seems like forever ago
That I jumped for joy at the first snow
The billowy mounds shining low
Glistening like diamonds on paved roads
As pure as a small child's heart
All that's evil, still in the dark
Making forts and angels and setting up the tree
Wearing so many layers that I couldn't breathe
Sleepless nights, waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve
How I long for that child, so innocent and free
A time when smiles weren't forced
No desires of anything more
Clinging to my childhood
And fogging up the glass
Looking through this snow globe
That resides old winters passed
Just a shake and a smile breaks free
I'm gazing in, but I'll never be inside...
My younger self stares back, scared of what he sees
Melting are the angels I've left behind
I'm cuddled in the blankets
Listening to 'Let It Snow'
But it makes no difference
It's out of my control
I'll put on a face, like I do
This gingerbread cookie
Gumdrop clothes to cover up
A hole where my heart should be
Walking through dirty streets
That look pretty in white
Bearing a blue and battered heart
That's hard to hide, the snow's too bright
The wife took the kids
Right when I thought things were good
I guess it's my fault
But I did the best I could
My present world is torn asunder
The past isn't real, but it feels better
Clinging to my childhood
And fogging up the glass
Looking through this snow globe
That resides old winters passed
Just a shake and a smile breaks free
I'm gazing in, but I'll never be inside...
My younger self stares back, scared of what he sees
Melting are the angels I've left behind
I bought myself a snow globe
The house inside
Looked just like mine
As it took me back to better days
Where all you could hear was that simple phrase
I needed something I could hold
To take me someplace else
Maybe help me find myself
Home feels the same
It's me that's changed

Lyric
On strange days
like these
baking cookies
is an arcane art.
For it is winter outside
how we transform
the inside
into mystic summer.
For i know the golden ratio.
i have surrounded
myself with graduated cylinders
that recall the lore
of cups and ounces.
Retorts of pots and pans
where i can observe
the powers of this world
returning and combining
into simmer.
Such smells
waft from the oven
as ginger swirls
and cinnamon sworls
like molten mountains jumble.
As the elements combine
eggs and butter
await their transformation.
Some believe that
transmuting baser metals
into gold somehow proves their worth
but they have never
crafted cookies.
At my round
small wooden table
my imaginary children enjoy
the coming holiday of doughy
spell-making.
They beam at me
with their gumdrop eyes
and jelly bean smiles
and write Latin script
with licorice and raisins
on their raiment.
As the homunculus
i have constructed
out of hen’s teeth
and oatmeal.
with a retro fish tank.
skips like calendar with
an extra leap year.
hiccupping time.
Mice in the wainscot
squeak as Saturn
rises auspicious
in their whiskers.
As my roller
impresses and passes
i fill the silver trays
the cuckoo clock strikes thirteen.
While i in a black forest script
write of spells
of life and death
and of the perfect
distillation of a sugar cookie
in baker notation
Sprinkles on the flour
that has spilled upon my table
from the shifter….

Just I,
maybe a little different ,but really not shy,
biography I imagined of an ordinary guy,
not scary,
drop by,
same old story from the same old friend,
ever thought of what it would be like ,ah,
to look like me,
not able to speak ,
not able to see,
I like apple trees and the buzzing of a bee
wish you was me,
ah,
it could never be,
come to my world and then you see,
duckin and a dodgin,
the dream that would never be,
the false hope you are teachin, is given to me,
as American as an gumdrop tree,
you just don't see ,
but really what is the difference between you and me.

Epic
A candy castle so tasty and sweet
made out of the most delectable treats.
Peppermint domes that swirl red and white,
glisten and shine in the the glorious light.
Licorice steeples, to the sky they ascend.
with Fruit rolls ups as flags flapping in the wind.
The drawbridge is made of warm gingerbread,
suspended by Twizzlers of cherry red.
Toffee and brittle are the bricks that make up the structure
Painted with icing of contrasting colors.
Frosting fastens the gumdrop shingles in place
making the roof sparkle with crystallized sugar lace.
A lollipop wreath hangs on the chocolate bar door,
whip cream and cherries top the decor.
Jolly ranchers are the windows that do reside.
A rainbow tinted world can be viewed from inside.
The palace is surrounded by a gentle chocolate stream
Where marshmallow peeps like to float on and dream.

wolf
which was disappointing
never attempt to move or donkey punch
the empire state building
ten years of planning
ten years of shrooms
ended with puppets
and strings like cave cheese
and shreddies
we were alone in the pool
the lifeguard looked like
satan's gumdrop
layered like pie
and like a puppet on a string
junk socks and dutch rowboats
i told reception it was my first time at this pool
i was told i could use my token for the locker
i told reception again it was my first time at this pool
an overchlorinated swimming hole

Using the snow to make white chocolate,
And we cheerfully waltz down a sponge street.
As we melt away in the sweet, sugary clouds,
I can't wait for our hands to meet!
Because you're so sweet, I'll make it bitter,
And I use more meringue that usual.
A kersch-flavored cherry carriage rolls in,
And to the next station, being careful.
Wearing the scent of lovely vanilla and with an Xmas ticket,
I buy your favorite tart at the Chiffon Cake Street shop.
I walk delicately to your home so I don't drop the cake,
So please wait for me as I skip on a gumdrop.
I stop at the candle fields,
Enjoying the bright colors, red, blue, and yellow.
I drink a glass of red juice,
Tonight is a special night where our love will grow~!
I won't take much more time to get to you,
I wonder if my cake is okay?
Wait, my reindeer is running away!
Flying with a red-nose express through the grey.
When the snow falls, it's a light acrylic pink,
My fingers are colored purple when I touch it.
I can't take your call right now, I promise though,
When I come, you'll get a big Christmas star tonight!
With a sugary frosting, I paint a heart on the tree,
Love will be in the air tonight.
So wait for me, I have to walk delicately,
I won't drop the cake, alright?

Neath, all willows soft and charm
Many are lost held from harm
Gumdrop lane shows the opal hidden trees as far as they can be
If you only believe?
Neath, all opaque caverns lay fairys castles kept hidden
Magnolias glow wild for each to all who is giving
Grandmothers ' fairy's ring at midnight away the human child they say
Shoetrees come to humans , who do not heed the warning, I say!
Ridges of yesterdays fairy's loves, She will cast her spell from above
Small sandpipers creep in gnomes stand guard above, she watches third eye with constant love
Lighted vessels await to you who come, she will help you recieve
All shall come to pass, do you believe?

Heartbroken but in love
Run, run, run,
I'm not Cinderella
Not the gingerbread man
Not dressed in yellow
No gumdrop buttons
Already kissed a fellow
My hearts still rotten
Getting hurt all over
Heartbroken but in love
Broken like a glass slipper
Snapped like a gingerbread cracker
My heart you can zipper
Or fix it with a wrapper
When it's all torn apart
Or broken and shattered
The only thing that can mend it
Is another love who will matter
Whenever cupid sends it
It's like jumping out of an oven
Your heart won't feel broken
Dancing with a prince
Till way past eleven
Then you're in love
Feeling like heaven
It all comes to an end
Having your heart broken
All over again

Little known holidays occurring on February fifteenth...,
awaiting commercial sponsors to become...
what else...,but hand over fist money makers?
observances.com/february-15.html)
Excess Valentine's surplus sweet treats
and assorted paraphernalia
need not go to waste
said sappy accouterments
can be repurposed
quickly without haste
less pronounced celebrated fetes faced
overwhelming stiff as an arrow baste
in love potion, understandable
no satiny frills laced,
or some other eye catching
emoji, persona, symbol...
awaits deft ploy of marksman/
woman to lift from obscurity,
whose ontological, mythological,
historical...basis replaced
essence mined to the Maximus,
and references to FACTS erased
with brilliance craftily distilling
entrepreneurial finesse aced
to broker psychological seduction,
(albeit subtle) synchronicity braced,
sans free market capitalism crux
linkedin at optimal nexus enterprize prefaced
with salient mania to generate profit raced
to the forefront of popular media
adulterated and of course embraced
by president of United States with
many commercial donning merchandise,
quoting P. T. Barnum,
there's a sucker chased
and born every minute, and
trumpeting how to make
a stack of money
(held together by
toothpicks and paste)
tall as the Taj Mahal,
which occasion aced
with fanfare including
handing out signed "FAKE"
copies of 'The Art Of
The Deal' amazingly graced
on podium along with
candies, gewgaws, tsatskes...
toting, praising, lauding...merits of:

Greeting the day's offerings, we cat souls
Were watching for scampering voles and moles.
Five vigilant cousins and I, perched up high,
watching the sun rise in the eastern sky.
From our perch in the gnarly gumdrop tree,
We surveyed the meadow, calm as we could be.
The grays and tans of a gentle morn,
Brought forth tasty mice, who were soon forlorn.
September day, offers so much lively meat on the ground.
We sneaked up stealthily, me and my brigade, profound.
We pounced, and the critters were goners for sure.
Their meat tasty, and fresh, and decidedly pure.
Our daily hunt, is so much fun, in this tree.
My cousins, my brother, my dad, and me.
We all do this, every single morn.
Making the little creatures feel forlorn.

Personification
Whispers surrounding every inch of her reckless body,
She hands the gumdrop to a stranger,
The gumdrop learns to walk and talk,
The gumdrop slowly potty trains,
The gumdrop goes to kindergarten,
The gumdrop falls on her head.
The gumdrop joins a soccer team,
Soon the gumdrop quits,
The gumdrop is a woman now,
The gumdrop graduates freely,
The gumdrop starts to go crazy,
Seeing splotches in her soup,
Talking to the statues,
The only friends of hers.
She meets a man and falls in 'love',
She expects her own gumdrop,
She breaks down.
Whispers surrounding every inch of her reckless body,
She hands the gumdrop to a stranger.

In the world of the pen
Anything is possible
No task to daunting
No destination out of reach
From five years old to ninety five
The pen can take us anywhere
The pen can be a source of great
Inspiration or it can be a most
Terrible weapon
It can make people laugh
It can make people cry
I can bring them down low
I can lift them up high
I can take you away to a fantasy land
Where knights in fine armor
Rescue fair maidens and do fierce battle
With firebreathing dragons
With the pen you can dance through
Lollipop forests, sail licorice boats on
chocolate oceans or climb candycane stairs
to gumdrop thrones
The most wonderful thing about the pen
It allows us to do whatever we choose
So use it for fun, use it for good,
Use it for inspiration and to lift hearts high
The pen has Great power
so when you use it be wise

Sanmati, my messenger, is no more a milksop.
Ardent though is she never will yawp.
Nagging sometimes though in some shop.
Merrily walks in crowd alone till atop.
Amends her needs; tackles one with strop-
Till he agrees with her, else does lop.
In always high spirits, ready to swop
Joy or sorrow equally treats like gumdrop.
Angry if treats us like a bellhop
In our home or out, but never plop
Nor cry in public to show us flop.
