Best Gemstone Poems
Onyx
dark silicate,
descendant of agate
echoes inspired by nighttime sky;
a calming focus of the deepest void,
spiritual transformation
awakening the soul,
translucent black
onyx.
Black hole
transmigration,
transformational sight,
the never ending seeing eye
vision of Tetragrammaton essence;
majesty of heaven’s splendor
enlightened souls will fly
darkness alight,
black hole.
I am the gem that’s as green as the sea
said to be symbolic of purity
I maybe pure as sparkling crystalline
clear to peer through if one should intertwine.
Also found in blue, yellow, pink and red
with sacred properties the bible said
Able to ease pain and anxiety
peace will surround someone if wearing me.
Wear me on a fine chain around your neck
or on your wrist in a lovely bracelet
Wear me anyway that you would care to
there is no one else to please, only you.
Shade of wheels in Ezekiel's vision
and the twinkling of starlight emission.
Jades of green, yellow and white;
the colors of life grow warm against the skin.
Precious gems of the lands minerals;
coveted by any, Jade is the stone of emperors;
lends a classy aire to any occasion and
a warm, rich presence to its wearer.
Sapphire elixir has formed herself into a beautiful gem,
relieving mental outbursts
repelling negative thought waves that could harm
or inflict self-doubt of any kind
Sapphire properties transmutes negative thoughts
into light and happy ones.
Reaching for a dark navy stone in the form of a
pendant, ring or bracelet
influences the wearer toward happy, light, joyful moods
Sapphire has been revered by the ancients,
since the beginning of the beginning
known by the ones who know the heart's soul the best
Appreciated by those who can heal torn
Chakras, and those who can feel the earth's pain.
A magic elixir in the form of a gem that has the power
to transmute negative thought into positive healing
Healing for you, and healing for the earth.
Sapphire. The magic elixir toward great quantities of joy.
A good wife is the best treasure to own~
Gemstone none can detest,
A light—darkness can't arrest,
Peace she brings none can contest.
Oh brilliant power of ruby
Infuse healing unto spirit's energy!
Based on the BBC news article "Diamond rain falls on Saturn and Jupiter"

Mighty Jupiter - king of planets
Noxious gasses form a blanket
Fearsome storming - red spot raging
Timeless tempest never aging
Lightning cracking - breaks methane
Sooty puff clouds fall like rain
Clumping forming - makes graphite
Dropping further losing height
Pressure rising carbon crush
Diamond snow in downward rush
Heat increasing gemstones melt
Further down as mist does pelt
To carbon ocean 'neath the sky
From boffins' sums in their mind's eye
gorgeous emerald trumps shamrocks and leaves
starting out as beryl, dull tan rock
if you keep it a million years
you'd really have something
to make into a ring
or pretty pendant
sweet emerald
May birthday

gem
I say, go far past where the crawdads sing,
explore and sample this beautiful ball.
It matters not the baggage you may bring.
The Earth is big, but you can begin small.
Just remember, her magic will enthrall.
With wind at your back, you are at last free!
You have set sail on life's open sea.
Keep those moments left behind to inspire.
You can become the one you hoped to be--
strong, passionate, like a gemstone with fire!

First Place!
malachite gentles my willing heart
helps me breathe in natural greens
with her twirling beauty, she enlightens me
a gorgeous gift from our mother earth
Earth was once a ball of molten rock,
which, seen from space, would've glowed orange.
Bombarded by meteors,
its surface was barren and sterile;
until comets endowed it with oceans.
Our planet is a unique globe, with a heart
of liquid iron spinning at its core.
And that spin generates a magnetic field
that blocks the sun's harmful radiation;
promoting life by providing a safe home.
Volcanoes, oceans, and lightning
imbued life with the essential elements needed.
And discharging oxygen as a waste byproduct,
prolific, organic organisms grew and multiplied;
till their incalculable numbers created an atmosphere.
Over eons, some fish evolved into amphibians and reptiles,
which left the oceans to breathe air on land.
And after hundreds of millions of years, mammals appeared:
warm-blooded animals, the ancestors of humans.
When Man viewed Earth from space,
Its beauty evoked visions of paradise!
For Earth glowed like a blue gemstone
laced with white clouds and ribbons of color,
etched upon its surface.
And for the first time, we became Earthlings,
identifying ourselves as such.
Although humans live in varying countries,
with differing cultures;
Earth is home to all.
Pure is the white quartz
As it dazzles in the sun.
Treasure its charm.
Tiger’s eye, burning bright;
reflects silken threads, of bright moonlight.
A courageous gem, it does its best;
to complement the human neck.
Its strength is woven deep within;
silken threads of gold, it spins.
Collectable gem
fortifies me with power
my hand extension.
Antique fountain pen
a staff spilling poetry
full of liquid gold.
The opals fire;
it burns so bright;
a gem to light our way.
Baked in Earth’s oven,
this spectre bright;
will never burn your skin;
it’s simply light-play.
