Roasting a Chicken
I’m roasting a chicken
(I’m far from a cook).
I opened the oven
To take a quick look.

It’s sitting there, browning,
With veggies around it;
The recipe’s Ina’s*
(I Googled and found it).

It’s a holiday meal
So I hope it tastes good.
I followed directions
As well as I could.

We’ll eat it tonight
And with...

The White Lilac Tree
The White Lilac Tree

In the garden, bloomed so beautiful this year;
Awakened memories
 of my homeland and of youth.
Inside of me.some tears.
Trees stand guard.
Proudly dressed with leaves of green,
to honor You
creator of heaven, earth and all mankind
I...

And I yelled where are the Jamaican and Barbadian at?
This might sound a little weird to most,

when all the languages and the dialect merges
 follow by the real country accent of them original...

Consider the (Dreaming) Birds

By Mark D. Stucky
Jesus told us to consider the birds of the air.
I have pondered parakeets (budgies) in a cage
routinely performing what seems impossible.
No, not flying. (They fly rather poorly.)
It’s the posture they keep as they sleep.
Usually before closing their eyes,
they puff...

Wars and rumors of war
it is said will be forevermore.
If that is the fate of mankind,
what are we to do?
How can we find
a time of peace, harmony too?

First could be
to find a way somehow
to stop wars raging now.
Not so easily done of course;
only...

My heart beat of scare
When I saw someone I don't know crossing the rode near my window,
I wouldn't have mind at all.
But I saw someone wearing the same pullover you always wore and I complimented you in,
When I stopped, I noticed my heart beating incredibly fast.
,,Do I still have...
