Roasting a Chicken

I’m roasting a chicken
(I’m far from a cook).
I opened the oven
To take a quick look.

It’s sitting there, browning,
With veggies around it;
The recipe’s Ina’s*
(I Googled and found it).

It’s a holiday meal
So I hope it tastes good.
I followed directions
As well as I could.

We’ll eat it tonight
And with plenty of wine,
I’m sure that my efforts
Will prove to be fine.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner, sounds just fine to me. In the kitchen with Ina, it'll be what it'll be. :) Peace.
