Best Fill Again Poems

Dead Pets
They come between dreams
soft focus tails wagging,
whiskers electric.
The ones we have named.
Wide-eyed refugees
we carry home in cars
or in arms curled around
trembling ribs.
They return like blood
to fill again a round vein
on the surface of sensation.
The tactile plasma
of Patch, Lucky, and Tigger
still checking our pulse.
Those we once...

Truth and Reality
When the colors of sorrow fade away,
When the leaves come back to life,
When the shadows of the past finally lifts up,
When living went rife,
What an enchanted illusion,
Reality is, like a lullaby
For we are still children,
Grown enough to cry,
When the people start to love,
Another not because...

No Pictures In the Picture Frames
No pictures in the picture frames
They just hang lonely on the wall
There's no fire in the firplace
No footsteps in the hall
.
Don't know when it happened
Know it wasn't just yesterday
As we were growing older
Our love seemed to slip away!
.
When I would reach out for you
In hopes...

An outrageously warm full moon
radiates above my roof
across our yard,
my face and mind,
reminding me Earth's nature can and must sometimes feel kind
if last week's hurricane of snow felt unkind
to aging joints and internal family tensions.

My Taoist roots remain disarticulated on this theme.
Controversy of dissonant and...

All the Feels
All the feels and even more
Are spilling out upon the floor

From my eyes, my mouth, my pen
They empty out then fill again

All these feels I’ve never known
Are finding in my heart their home

These strange sensations, could it be
That they were always inside me?...

Space In My Heart
There’s a space in
My heart
Since you’ve been gone
That my tears can’t
Wash away
And my thoughts won’t
Leave alone
You were always there
When I needed you
And it hurts so much
Not being able to
Be with you now
I keep seeing you lying there
Not able to talk
Not...

Tears Never Wept
                  by Odin Roark

Like a lonely child
Straddling a playground seesaw
Sentiment’s sorrow
Fear’s discovery

How bold we carry our heartache
Anchored deep in learned
Teeter-totter discipline
Allowing our eyes to...

And the Sea Will Fill Tonight
The Moon Will Rise
Flow & Ebb In Eyes
Memories Surge Like Tides
… And The Sea Will Fill Tonight

Desires-Deluge & Dreams Held Tight
Hopes of H20 – Depth & Honest-Heights
Falling Sparkles, Drop … Shimmering Bright
… And The Sea Will Fill Tonight

Moved By Flood of Full Moonlight
Unmasked, Immersed In...

Silent Assassin
The cold seeps in.

The silent asssassin.

He’s the chill that goes straight to the bone.

Winter.

That’s when the assassin strikes.

Boaring down a path.

Animals hide.Plants die.

And the rest of us flee inside.

Escaping that wintery assassin,

Who was sent to collect his bounty.

He found his loot ,

On a blistery ...

Cry
I want to cry
As my eyes fill with tears
and my heart breaks of pain
As i wonder what the future will bring
I sit and watch the rain fall hard
And I wish I was in the land of oz
A place to go and escape the...

I Watch You Rise
In the golden rays of early morning
I watch you rise, kicking to the sky
Off to dazzle elsewhere
Exchanging notes in the distance

Acutely aware of my limitations
I watch you rise to the treetops
The feeder spinning, soon abandoned
The swelling buds soon to cover

Rest now and garner strength
After the...

In dreams they speak again,

fragile ribs trembling.

Revisiting The Same Ground

Over and over again
I find myself returning
to the same thoughts, ideas, histories
but now with years more experience between
and years more depth
behind what were once words
so glibly recited.

Is this how we all learn,
parrots one and all, reciting
lessons,...
