Fetch me the moon
tied in rope or held in box
and do it soon.

Entangled by the web we weave,
thoughts provoked, but, yet deceive.
Passing blame with slight, of hand,
a golden calf that shines so grand.
An altar set, his words are praised,
a barren field his flock is grazed.
Thirst and hunger are seldom quenched,
until at last, they all are trenched.
Be careful of the book you read,
a soured quill will slay your seed.
Praising ink wrote down by man,
is not the way and not the plan.
A fleeting moment comes every hour,
self-righteous deeds will soon devour.
Open your eyes and see the catch,
He throws the ball while you play fetch.

Quick, Igor, Fetch the Subject
By Elton Camp
At last Dr. Fraggle has achieved success
He’s developed a potion to bring distress
“A mad scientist they dare to call me!
Now who’s insane we will very soon see.”
“For if my elixir proves to work under test
Its power will soon be felt by all the rest.”
“Helping mankind has been far overrated
Most people I meet, I’ve instantly hated.”
“My research, grants foundations all deny.
But their evaluations were nothing but a lie.”
“That my work has value they will now find
My potion’s fumes will change their mind.”
“Other scientists will beat a path to my door.
None will ever dare to revile me anymore.”
“And the grand name of Fraggle will be hailed
Unless I fail and then I’ll probably be jailed.”

A dog fights the Christmas winter cold,
as it waits for the Snowman to begin
the game of "fetch". The Snowman
is just a lifeless collection of snow,
buttons, a pair of sticks, a hat.....
but the dog doesn't realize it.
It sits in the biting cold,
waiting for the Snowman to play
"fetch" with his hand.
What kind of Snowman would want
his hand between a dog's jaws?

All alone in the world

Slugs and snails line the highway,
Munching, crunching, drinking fumes;
Early in the morning, late at day.
A tunnel of black ahead looms,
Feasting on diesel, ready to growl;
Into the maw a lucky one zooms.
Compacted inside the giant jowl,
Hooter poised, horsepower stalls;
Bodies meet with metallic howl.
“Fetch my skimmer, freedom calls,
Flying, leaping o’er all that appalls.”

Through the thick of the fog
I begged to the bog
stumped by a stymied log.
It was hollow of pride,
like a zookeeper’s dog,
reduced to bark-less hide.
From the splat of my thud
It wore polka-spot mud
and rolled just because
It knew what It was
to snap unjustified.
So what could I do
but prove what It knew
with another attack
on the cripple I threw?
If cracking my back
playing fetch in the muck
was the point of It all - I’m stuck.

If I could I would fetch you the moon on a spoon
As easy as scooping an ice cream into your cone
Everything I’ll do for you is as light as any balloon
For I’m deeply in love with you
You’re my strength, my world, my greatest inspiration.
If I could I would fetch you the moon on a spoon
With the planets making layered ice cream scoops in your cone
I'll also pick all the stars while singing you my love song
And make them precious garlands, just all for you,
They’re diamonds from my heart where yours belong.

He went up her hill to fetch a pail of water
He looked into the wishing well
It was dark, yet enchanting
When he put his ear next to it
It seemed to be calling his name
Like an oasis is to a dessert beckoning
a thirsty man
He was thirsty, too
The edges of the well began to stand up
It seemed to be moist in there
Or was that his imagination
It began to coo, too
Or was that his imagination
He stood there, staring, mesmerized
At the sheer beauty of the wishing well
He searched his pockets
He pulled out a nickel
He thought he heard a voice
say is that all you have
He nodded yes
He imagined he heard a laugh
He then closed his eyes and threw it in
It barely skimmed the surface
A few minutes later he uncorked his wish
A gift of raindrops
To the wishing well it was no big deal
As he looked into the reflection of the well
At least he smiled at all the legends
He thought he heard a voice

there is something in my mind
that brings to a tear tonight
a soft touch of being
a love of an affair
the end of a new beginning
a beginning to a new end
a circle of pieces that never seem to fit together
a piece that always seems to fit
the hearts that always beat as one
but never see the purpose
and never see of the same
why can you feel your feelings
but never feel the ones of your neighboor

I must now write a limerick;
Those dogs lined up is such a trick,
It's just a feint
To make me faint
So they can nick my walking stick!

She walked out of the Aegean Sea with purpose
Not flaunting her power, yet showing it steadily.
The other entities were not sure whether she was Greek or Roman.
In fact, she may have been from another mythology and another universe.
They watched her come, not knowing whether to feel fearful or elated.
Usually generational gene commonality linked them,
However, she was not linking to any.
Do we fetch our weapons? Queried Mars, Roman’s God of War.
Let’s wait, suggested Greek’s Eirene, not understanding or sensing anything.
Thus, they stood together, waiting,
For the storm and fury or for a peaceful union?
Neither knew.
Anticipation great.
Mars sent his sentinel for his sword,
Earning an irritated glance from Eirene, Goddess of Peace.
