Feigned FlamesThe moon dances
on lonely nights,
to astral beams of
the clear quartz milky way~
I lay in an olive meadow
designed in fragrant
promises,
hidden between thorns
and thistles disguised
as fields of ferns.
Inhaling life, exhaling pain,
as the Universe unravels
a cosmic shadow that
follows hail storms
brewing in my mind.
Whilst Vanilla butterfly...

With Feigned Apologies
I wrote what I thought was a 'poem' some years ago,
but it lacked rhythm, rhyme, and had no smooth flow.
Its imagery was blurry, and it filled my heart with grief
to read the overdose of alliteration, so far beyond belief.
To be quite blunt, it was a...

Feigned Freedomforced solitude
compulsory confinement
freedom from the sun
tall walls
large locks
glum guards
the soundless flow of time
yawning years
freedom of thoughtlesness
timed routines
in a timeless atmosphere
feigned freedom...

Freedom, FeignedConfinement -
I carry my prison with me
no bounds or bars or barriers
can equal the breadth of my bondage
its burning poison possesses marrow and mind
squeezing the emotion and energy
from every cell and sinew.
Truth
be told
it is a cell I walked into
with knowledge and bitter wisdom
and the lone...

Feigned Her InnocenceListening in silent despair
Ambivalence
Numb as she walked
Bound by time was far from freedom
I wouldn't change her everything
Despite my cries
All is left behind me
All is gone and All is lies
Nodding smiles in Jester's torture
Nothing escapes the fallen...

Feigned Devotionah, love, the lies thou speaketh now
tell tales upon thy character
of darkness hidden ’neath green eyes
and evil dripping from thy tongue
lay not beside me evermore
and proffer warmth of wanton flesh
which kens not truth of any sort
yet holds my soul as it were bound
from out this...

Feigned Hypnosis ReprisalCheating death with a masquerade veneer,
faking the failed attempt to hypnotize,
the prisoner showed no pain as suture
closed the deep knife wound bathed in crimson blood.
His eyes were closed, ebony thoughts within,

Accismus Feigned
Accismus feigned about God search
It’s our highest desire
Without His grace, we’re in the lurch
Far from home, we now tire
We thus pray, day and night
That we may see the light
Bestowed spherical sight
Bliss throbs ingrained
Accismus feigned

Haggard Future Feignedbruised zeal bled
crumbling callous crest
hoisted hanker smote
cranky curves clothe
hanky panky puked
vying voluptuous views
porous pen peered
pulpy paranormal reared
felon feasting fear
sassy syllables etched
in punctured pest
whooshing pasts wet
haggard future feigned
dark drips craved.

Feigned LoveFeigned Love
By Dane A. Smith-Johnsen
Escape is there. Beyond the window, songs of nature call.
The stillness of the evening sounds the flicker’s serenade.
He sings, and sings, and sings again until his mate flitters near.
Then silence falls upon those two. ...
