In the realm of soccer, where dreams bear flight,
A stage was set, shining under the beaming light.
The Women World Cup, with glory at stake,
Sweden against the U.S., hearts ready to quake.

Regulation played out, With a nil-nil score,
Both teams gave their all. Their spirits never wore.
The tension in the air—as the clock ticked away.
The crowd held their breaths, in anticipation that day.

Extra time was granted to break the deadlock.
True, a win was staked—each side stood headlock.
The strain grows as there are no goals to be found.
As the clock started to tick away the time abound.

The shootout with penalties—to pick the winner.
In the greatest nerve-racking way feasible spinner
The U.S. stepped up, with confidence and might,
But fate had a different design, on this fateful night.

Three missed kicks—In the realm of soccer fights,
Sealed the U.S.'s fate, In a moment so tight.
Kudos to Musovic—and the Blue and Yellow,
For their resilience and skill, in a match so mellow.

In the realm of soccer, Where dreams bear flight,
This game will forever be a testament to their might.
The Women World Cup—a stage of pure thrill,
Where nations unite, with a passion that is real.

Though the U.S. may have faltered, In this battle so grand,
Their journey won't cease here—their legacy will still stand.
In the realm of soccer, It's not just around the score,
But the heart and grit, retain us coming back for more.

So let us celebrate the triumphs and the falls,
The beauty of the game captures us all.
In the realm of soccer, where dreams bear flight,
We witness moments of glory—battles fought with might.

Congratulations to Sweden—their win was sweet
All dreams in the field of soccer start at the feet.
A stage was built up, gleaming in the spotlight.
The Women's World Cup—the stakes are right.

Premium Member When Forever Is Not Enough

When I had to leave, if you’re finding it tough.
Because forever would not have been enough.
Try not to let your lonely, broken heart, heave.
If you’re finding it tough when I had to leave.

I wanted to stay, I know you needed me,
Despite the love we shared, it wasn’t to be.
The memories we made, each and every day.
I know you needed me, I wanted to stay.

Walks on that trail when it was just you and me.
You liked showing me off for everyone to see.
My slobbery kisses, the pounding of my tail.
When it was just you and me, walks on that trail.

Being with you, it was always the best time for me.
If we were in the car or playing or just watching TV.
I always somehow knew what you wanted me to do.
It was always the best time for me, being with you.

I guess we always knew, my time here would be short,
And that extra time together just couldn’t be bought,
Even if that bridge takes me far, I’ll always love you,
My time here would be short, I guess we always knew.

I’ll always be there, right there in your heart,
Because ours was a team that no one could part.
If you are feeling heartbroken, please know I care,
Right there in your heart, I’ll always be there.

A Tribute To Jayson, My Brave Warrior

A Tribute to Jayson, My Brave Warrior

My dear son, Jayson
When you called late last night to let me know
You were deploying to go overseas tomorrow
In spite of my great resolve
I broke down and sobbed.

The little boy I lovingly nurtured
So witty and good-natured
So kind, compassionate, and loving
You’ll always be my sweet boy
Even though the world now sees you as a grown man.

Recalling special times when I showered your baby face with kisses
Or tickled your armpits
Howling with laughter, you would beg me
“Do it again, Mommy, I love it!”

I remember all those moments we had
At times rocky, sometimes sad
But most of all memorable and enjoyable.
I remember your growing pains
All your questions, anxieties, and mixed-up emotions
Yes, we made it through hurdles you and I
Making me laugh, making me cry
But taking that journey together was quite priceless!

You’re now a strong, valiant, young man
Willingly putting your life on the line
Many have thanked you for your service
And, my brave warrior, I am so proud of you
When I hear your humble, heartfelt reply, “Glad to do it!”

You’re just simply the best!
While you took a minute to leave the nest
I’m grateful for the extra time we were given
But I know
It’s time to let you go –
Go take your rightful place in the world.

You’ve grown wings like a fierce eagle
It’s your time to fly high! Now soar!
But remember that you are always a part of me
And even though we may no longer hold hands
We are still holding hearts.

These tear-splattered pages
Reflect my anguished heart
Knowing you’re prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice for your country
I pray that you will return to me safe and sound
I love you, my hero - my precious son.
Godspeed!
¡Vaya con Dios!

Busybee Me

(enjoy the puns)

I happen to be a busy bee
always racing with time
since time how it flies for busy bees
Ah wish I could just lasso it
like a cowboy does his horse
and thereby bring it to a standstill!

And if I don't waste this valuable Time
I think I could buy me some extra time
For time is money it's said
Ah wish I could just catch it
in a nook or a noose
as it flies by at will.

For at this rate the clock is ticking by
like some never exploding time-bomb
while I'm forever running out of time
so I wonder then how still
others just take their time
or be killing time coz they've time to kill!

For I can't be killing this precious time
I don't have any spare time on my hands
And it is but challenging to make a chum
out of that swinging pendulum
Time is racing, it's outpacing
For me it seems time has never stood still.

Thus I'll merely have to resign to the fact
that I could never ever tie down mr. Time
for time and tide have waited for none
It's never going to cease, that monotonous chime
even when ceases to pen, a poet's quill

If the battery in thy clock stops
other clocks would be working timely still
So if you lag behind and don't make it in time
you can be sure there are others who will.

So I better let my time-old
venerable grandfather clock
go on with its carefree
dutiful but devil-may-care tick tock
Yah, let the time do the talk
and still tell it it's simply brill!

What's In a Name

What's in a name

I looked at my name
and I now must confide
I found so many things
that were waiting inside

I checked all the letters
for what there could be
And sat there amazed
by the stuff I did see

There’s a hinge and a chin,
a big grin and a cheer
Cries and a siren,
some heirs and a sneer

Found resin and rings
a genie, a screen
A singer, a signer
a sire and a scene

Saw generic hens
and ringers sincere
A Grinch and an inch
and rehires right here

There’s niches and riches
and itches and rice
A sheen and a gene
and a niece, very nice

So many things
I found in my name
No time for them all
and that is a shame

But maybe real soon
when I find extra time
I’ll post a few more,
just as long as they rhyme

Premium Member Confessions of a Grammar Nazi

I know the fact that it's Facebook
it somehow gives you an excuse not to abide
by even the most basic of grammar rules.
And I admit seeing an apostrophe
where it's not needed kills me a bit inside.
But, alas, I will restrain myself
from starting any spelling duels.
The truth is you just wouldn't win,
not even the slightest chance.
And even if you did there would be
no satisfaction on your behalf.
It would always come back again
to the same redundant dance;
me - taking the time to voice my message clearly,
and you having a big hair-pulling laugh.
It's true, there is a great deal of time saved,
cutting the words short and omitting punctuation.
But by God it's like throwing away
years of hard-earned education!
I wouldn't mind writing like a five-year-old
(aside from the fact I'm almost twenty).
Some say it's nothing to fret about -
isn't the rest of the world's problems plenty?
The fact is writing is one of the few things
I can keep in order
(Lord knows my room doesn't fit the bill!).
So if by chance you find yourself,
staring zombie-eyed Into a computer screen,
with extra time to fill,
I hope that you will remember your I before E except C's,
that you will recall the three different there's of English.
Maybe someday you too will join
this small club of Grammar Nazis.
Perhaps you'll find there's more to words
than just ink on a page...
For you have the whole world within you,
first step is too climb out of your cage.

Firefighters Creed

FireFighters Creed:

Alarms screaming.
Birds singing.
But her heart was bleeding.
I held her as she died.
CPR couldn't revive.
How could I save what God wanted taken
away.
Is this how God repays ?
Maybe if I was a minute earlier.
If I didn't take that extra time getting out
the drive.
I would of been able to save this young girls
life.
It haunts me every night.
Pictures of her in the last moments of her
life.
I was pulled away by my fallow brothers in
arms.
Brothers with the FireFighter emblems on
there helms.
Tears roll down my face.
First time is the worst is what they all seem
to say.
But should a 17 year old boy be here in the
first place.
I look in the mirror when all these Questions
race in my brain.
mocking me, Judging me, pointing, laughing,
calling me names.
"Great good job Jess letting her die"
"Well god damn what a terrific guy"
I know it was my choice to enter the service.
But I wish I could of lived a bit first.

Premium Member What a Snafu

This happens when you have no extra time-
There you stand in the queue
Patiently, you wait
There’re two ahead of you--
You’re so close to the gate
You watch as time runs out
Tick tock…., you’re in a crunch
Up goes the sign, “Out to Lunch”
Now, your face wears this pout
Oh! What a snafu!

Wrapping It In Purple - For Prince

WRAPPING IT IN PURPLE
-For Prince

Black onyx handsome,
Small is beautiful,
Soft campy creature,
Definite in feature,
All chiseled, boned,
Talents honed,
And used for a king's ransom.

A royal purple mist,
Rained down on fans.
A thousand in the cast,
(He's never going to last).
Sing, Hip hop, do yer dance,
It's really yer last chance;
And maybe you'll be missed.

Let's do! Let's go crazy!
Count sheep, fall asleep,
Red flag, Swag dance, Sweet feet!
Tap it, Rap it, on a side street.
Keepers, weepers, of the dark,
One chance to make yer mark.
Sigh or sing, no time to be lazy!

Speed of light, day or night,
You know time can't be defined.
Check it off, count loves,
Hope you hear the cry of doves.
Yer wanting all yer extra time,
Kiss it in yer billboard climb;
A nanosecond dove in flight.

Burning up your axe,
Ending up an icon,
Pay your ticket, seeum,
In Hollywood's museum.
Paisley is the handle,
Stiff, dripping like a candle,
Just a manikin in wax.

No birthday's, no gray, or wrinkle.
In purple paper, wrap a lost chord!
You float above a cherry moon,
Wing it, sing it, it's your last tune.
Spirit vaporized, name that's canonized,
And all your data to be analyzed.
Precious purple, a periwinkle sprinkle.

Always cry for love, never cry for pain;
Elevé, do rise, caught up, surprised!
Don't stare sleeping there,
Death upon the stair.
No liquor, no last flicker,
No barcode, no heart quicker,
An April snow has left you sleeping in the rain.

Premium Member Two By Two, They Took a Cruise

As Noah gathered his flocks, and he gathered his herds
Two by two, from the frogs, to the birds
They would follow the leader, right into the ark
Indeed, he was told "Build a ship, and embark!
There's a flood coming soon, 40 days, 40 nights
Some thought he was crazy, his decision a plight!

Noah's two monkeys, had a devilish side!
They quickly jumped on the back of the elephants' hides
They took unfair advantage
Even carrying their luggage
While these jumbo sized taxis....gave them a ride

Horace and Doris were at the end of the line
As tortoises go, they would need extra time
Inching their way up, took an hour...so slow
While the rest of the group, cheered them on from the bow
till finally they were sealing ship's bolted door shut!

And soon rains were pouring, first sprinkles, then lots!
At dinner each night, as they would gather to dine
Like a cruise, quite gourmet, .....big buffets , even wine
They bought in the first course, a huge bowl of soup
In the hot broth was a rabbit, swimming in loops!!

"Oh Noah! Come quickly!"..."There's a hare in my soup!!"
And soon all the twosomes, were laughing and hooting

The ark was party, filled to the brim
Two for the road, and one for the swim

They would follow the leader, right into the ark
Indeed, he was told "Build a ship, and embark!
There's a flood coming soon, 40 days, 40 nights
Some thought he was crazy, some partied all night
But the risk was a good one, it seems he was right!

Circumstances might make us lose faith in our whims
And it might look as if all our chances are dim

Do not give in ! Or at least have fun
For laughter's the best medicine under the sun!!

The Pleasure of Old Age

The pleasure of old age
This is good morning only been up twice in the night and not
Stumbled over furniture, his wife kept filling the house with
Unwanted things. When he protest she says he lacks artistic sense.
A good morning because he was able to empty his bladder
Without sounding like a cat on a hot tin roof - yes I know-

Whoever when young thought of the simple Act of evacuation?
The pleasure it is to do so without using
A suppository, the simple enjoyment of the thriving completed.
There is, especially when old, a certain sexual pleasure of
A body that functions, it can so easily go wrong, that extra
Glass of whisky, a glass of wine one should have left
Untouched on the table, with a cloth clean as a cerulean sky.

Today he would only have soup for Lunch and no red wine.
Better be on the safe and alive. But there are moments he
Thinks “what does it matters you are dying anyway; silly man.”
God didn’t give you extra time to read slimming magazines
But to be a connoisseur of Portuguese red wine, that is mild as
Spring and dreamy as a horse chewing hay in his stable when
It rains and the farmer has gone to Sunday mass.

Premium Member Burning Daylight

Burning Daylight

Burning daylight…what?
What could that possibly mean?
Wasting precious time?

And daylight?
Daylight exists between dawning Sun and darkness of night ,
divided into hours, minutes, seconds,
all of which equals

Time.

There is breakfast, lunch and dinner time.
There is commuting time.
Of course, there is working time
either at a job, or at home.
There is cooking time, cleaning time,
indoor, outdoor, taking care of home time.
There are doing errands time and appointment times.
Also, taking care of loved ones time,
and taking care of pets time;
Donating time time,
and all those “have to do things” time
too many to mention!
No burning/wasting daylight here!

Now—
that other time that some may refer to as
burning daylight time, wasting precious time time??
Depends on what “wasting” means!

If you are lucky enough to have those
leftover or in between the “have to do things” time,
your extra time—
Get into your “burning daylight” mode!

Indulge! Indulge in life!

Sit somewhere you love outdoors,
and look into the eyes of nature.
Spend relax time with a spouse, child,
loved one, friend, neighbor, or significant other.
Read that special book.
Write that letter, or write a poem—maybe two;
engage in something uniquely creative.
Let your favorite music feed your soul.
Take a walk and inhale the beauty of all that surrounds.
Feel life flow through your heart and soul!
Breath in the wonderful air!
Or, just sit back, take a nap and do nothing!

Feel free!
Do whatever makes you feel good!
No guilt, no pressure,
just extra daylight time
to burn up for yourself—your gift to yourself!
This burning daylight time
will provide the fuel and energy, the peace and happiness
for all those “have to do things time”
which the next day of daylight time
will definitely claim!!

Burning daylight?…Go for it!

Couldest Thou Not Tarry

As I think of the night that Jesus suffered
and the disciples He chose to pray by His side….
but they lay sleeping while Satan’s plan now was unfolding
as Judas was leading the soldiers to take Jesus all because of lies.

It was no ordinary day as you can be sure
but one of anticipation for the tension seemed to hang in the air,
and although the day was filled with Lamb preparations
you just knew something or someone needed an extra time of prayer.

Yet, with all of the noise and clamor of that busy city
children crying, barking dogs and people begging for just another touch,
“I’ll wait till later”! Cried Peter – You understand don’t You Father
for I know You can see here is another man hobbling on a crutch.

But there will always be needs we feel that we must meet
but then where do we eventually draw the line?
For we absolutely must take time with our Father God
or how else then is He able to keep us so fine?

Would you rather wait until you have lost complete sight of Him
and then and only then fall down on your feeble knees,
crying and wailing with a very loud voice
“My God, what now is to become of me”?

Tarry dear child of God for spending quality time with Him
is certainly no waste of your most precious time,
and He will come and fill and refresh your weary and overburdened soul
while you hear Him say, “I love you dear sweet child of Mine”.

A Letter To Me

If I could go back in time and write a letter to me
I'd tell me to be careful of all I hear and see
Be quick to give a smile and slow to use a frown
Be the kind of friend you'd like. Be firm and stand your ground
When times get tough and I feel alone, I'd tell me to be strong
Cause standing alone for doing right is always better than doing wrong
Being honest is your best bet for friendships strong and true
But remember, sometimes honesty might make them walk away from you
There will be moments when you disagree with everything your parents say
But try to see it from their side. They just want you to be OK
Make sure you spend some extra time even though she has a Mister
Your friends aren't more important. You need her, she's your sister
When you meet a guy, please be careful and make sure that he's real
Cause sometimes it's a big fat lie, no matter what they make you feel
When your heart lays shattered on the ground and you feel you can't go on
It's OK to shed those tears. You don't have to be so strong
Don't ever take for granted the times you have with dad
Cause one day soon you'll get some news that will make you really sad
When that awful thing called cancer gets whispered in your ear
It'll be OK. Just pray to God and pull each other near
Take time to talk to Jesus. Don't think that it's OK
To push him aside for what you want...you'll start to go astray
When you feel like no one really cares and you have no place to go
Jesus sees each tear you cry. Your heartache, he already knows
So I want you to remember, whatever life may bring
Through sunshine or through raindrops, no matter how much it stings
You have a loving Father who will be there til the end
He's your Saviour and Redeemer and He'll always be your friend

Emotional Roller Coaster

What do I say
That Im okay
Lieing to myself
And others anyways
Emotions caughtup
Aint got no luck
Nothing to hold on to
Right now, it just really sucks
The fact that Im left behind
With no extra time
To think about whether to hold on
Or just let it go and hope everything's fine
All my words caught up
Dont know what to feel
Dont know what to write
Wish it wasnt real
There's always something wrong
That can never be turned right
Just wanna be happy
With love and delight
Too bad
Oh well
Im sad
Cause Ive failed
Myself
My life
My feelings
What's right
Will
I
Make
It
Through
The
Night?
