About That Certain Thing Called Nonsense

Nonsense is that certain symbolic communication form
that oft pervades our human space with its absurdity!

All of us from time-to-time have had to deal with some
people who revel and rave in it to provoke a response.

Making sense and communicating in an intelligent fashion,
reflects a spirit of human decency that’s so needed at times.

“Nonsense!” used as an exclamatory pronouncement inheres
a necessary tone of disagreement to stop boorish behavior.

“Nonsense” in a whimsical use can tickle one’s funny bone,
whilst creating, at times, a much-needed spirit of amusement!

And so, “Nonsense” as part of our grand human condition,
may not be all bad, except when some choose to be naughty!

Nonsense is an important part of life because it brings us to
a certain view, which should be of no surprise: C’est la vie!

Premium Member The Art of Morning

Upon rising, awakened by
ripening scent teasing my nose,
trilling my lips and tongue, – my taste buds opening
to bird-like songs as dawn's light breathes new life
and hope into my journey, so begins
a fresh flutter of time, an extending
run of exclamatory chirps and wing-full
stretching –

Muse beckons, yielding to artist'
pen and eye – we are co-authors, exchanging
thoughtful leafs and sun-dipped pages; mingling natures,
swapping poetic voice, reversing positions of artist vs model –
conjuring word-images and interactive, painted-canvases – confounding our seasons of
blossoming and harvest, embracing God's budding voice and fruitful manifestations,
His nectar-ed, figurative language, blending human with Divine senses....

displaying contrasts that stimulate exploratory forming
and transitory shading – clearing and clouding
affects both inside and on my outside, as the clutter of
yesterday, and promise of a spring-like showers soak
crusty sediments with saturating, fertile possibilities;
all taking bows – the theater that of spiritual mastery –

                              Mystery is
my source, my echo, my chambered growth.

My resources, exploitable enclaves of poetic walls, primed,
awaiting both solid and abstract vibrations, energizing
experimental blurbs, those planned and random into searchable
articulations, grasping, too often vainly, for fantastical alliteration
of sterile, common-place views –

I am deepened and ready to let air

we are each our best audience
my left-hand meeting your right
for a brisk clap of inspiration followed
by riotous applause....

Like Birds

We, like birds,
          Soared and dove and hollered
In the gentle air of a midsummers twilight
          Before the watchful eyes
Of a loving and forever Yes.
                    Your exclamatory remarks
                    Don’t getcha too far,
Do they boy? (not anymore at least.)
This night was meant for lovers
          And builders
Of the cloudy dreams
That float across the hole-punched sky.
And the wind dances upon my nose
As if to say we were meant to be.

Premium Member When Seeking

When seeking to write
a poem, no need to
descend into deep, dank
mysterious wells of
creation – after great depth
only to come upon
one's ignitable soul-fuel

my muse, for example,
far more accessible, generally
wearing just a glistening
strand of peals, basking
in a warmth of sunlight

for poetry is less the self
making new composition, and
more a process of internal revelation

one's own essence
radiating back the lyrics
of a poet's exclamatory spirit

calling up and out
for conscious reunification
with the Divinity of
All Declarative Being –

the celebration of freeing
that which is already
written – a penetrable
gazing crystal entrancing
artful nature into greater
self-awareness –

hidden truth distilled in
each vein long before
the tea and patterned reading

the poet first learns release
if to learn poetry; begins
by turning those internal whispers
into clear explorable volumes

slicing open, and peeling back
the skins of words, shattering
shells, releasing flocks of
phrases and images, making
yoke-leftovers into omelets
stuffed with eclectic tastes for
sharing

one writes to consume

and be consumed –

poetry, a sacred ceremony of life and death~

the poet his own baptizing priest while cold
handed embalmer.

The Exclamation Point

Proving a point! An exaggerated ending
I see - I am drawing conclusions
An overstatement! Influential indeed
An extravagant means of spreading viewpoint
Ah! I write - I use it to exclaim
I end my proven thoughts with ability
Drawing attention to the written word
I see - you see ! You get the message I am sending
May it be imagery or reality , let there be reasons
With culture and thus cultivate the weed
Again with creation , a proven value and point
I write - we write - exclamation we claim
Gliding with the pen , word after word with agility
Fine motor skill development - and with an IQ
A beauty of language and never too absurd
Writing beauty with exclamation
I must say ! Complex for you still
I see the wisdom! Do you see the point?
Picturesque ! Vocabulary at its best
Again I proclaim the mental images
Astounding! To be exclamatory
And I thus, I see! my visions clear
My exclamation point! very clearly dear
When I read - I then seek the truth
Looking for the point - I still draw conclusion
That the exclamation therefore beauteous it may be
Not only proved a point! It may stupify me
And I know you are in there in your head
Truly listening to what is said?
He nods - she winks - I guess its true
The beauty of exclamation is really becoming of you
And I see imagery - I see rhythm
We teach - you listen - you write the words
And punctuate - I still amazed
That it will astound you too - silence is golden
You learned - the exclamation at its best
Sometimes may be used with some degree of protest
And in your expressions this I see, it stimulates
And indeed - with beauty it articulates
Wow! The point when used in prose
The words are brilliant and the point then rose.

About Whales In a Fish Story -Corny-

" O' Whale ... A Fish Story ... "

The Biggest, Exclamatory Interjection, Used In The Ocean
The Phrase That Holds Many A Gigantic Wave's Commotion

It's Often Spoken In: Hurricanes, Monsoons or Tsunamis
But Its Not: Oh My! Look Out! or See! or Ooou-Weee!

It's " Well! " - Says Every Little Fish of The Sea ...

Storytelling

The gentle watery flow smashing against the ragged rocks.
The snowcap mountains nestled against the bluest sky
wisps of a soft breeze whispering against the blushing cheek
unanticipatory verbiage impacting emotions

to thine own self be true
to rhyme without rhythm
to eat, to pray, to love

the best of times, the worst of times
the state of an era,
the unpredictable elipses

the improper but appropriate pause
inflection for reflection
brilliant salutations

morphemes
contractions
exclamatory fragments

Freedom within thought
freedom to express
Once upon a time ...
it was a dark and stormy night.
Of man's first disobedience ...
We hold these truths to be self-evident...

learned growth,
long journeys into the lost world
satisfaction at the close of the book.

artful, impacting, storytelling.

First Kiss

Cecilia stood with him as my eyes filled with envied rage
I had asked her to be mine at prom but was second to the stage
She dazzled the ballroom as bated breaths of onlookers viewed
Her figure in white satin caused all to experience an exclamatory mood
Bleach white with stream- lined sleekness adorning Long lacy sleeves
Pinkish mother of pearl fasteners from shoulder to fingers weaved
Each aligned like little glistening sparklers- beautiful yet Godly conceived
Hair fashioned as a cascading water fall full of auburn red curls
Turning to mist at her lower waist causing my dreamful rage to be placed in whorls
Spinning more spinning- my world out of control
Oh how I wanted her long moments ago
A plucked rose of red love pined to her heart side breast
Gave me notice as I knew I could not rest
Like a lion on the prowl- to the dance floor I stalked
To dance with my dream girl whose heart I would shock
Tapping aspersion the shoulder of the man whom I gave envy and hate
Excuse me please sir-may I cut in on your lovely date
Softly spoken “We’ve got tonight” I whispered in her ear
Drawing her ever the closer- Oh my dear
Seger’s words audibled sweetly around the dance hall loomed
No longer the wait-I vowed boldly and calm
No longer to hesitate- aroused by her flowery balm
My lips to hers pressed- for she did not resist
Thus it was the moment of our very first kiss

Premium Member The Only Way To Go

When I was a new seminarian
I had a favorite parish priest mentor
who told me the best way to die
is while having an ******.

I wasn't sure if I could ask
why he was so exclamatory sure
of his nakedly compromising position.
I did not really know him all that well,
although he seemed to be a swell up kind of Father.

Perhaps I looked a bit nervous
because he hastened to reassure me
the reason he is enamored of orgasms,
of diastatic experience,
is because they transcend our language boundaries
between Eros and Agape.

Orgasms are ecstatic climatic events,
warm full-bodied memories
of mindbody interdependence,
of holistic cooperative ecopolitics within
every organ and cell,
muscle and happy little ego-subsystem
groaning out this profoundly universal Yes!
with both LeftBrain audio-visual Eros
and RightBrain universally interdependent
neural-sensory climate of Agape.

I didn't know what to say to this bicameral-sexual therapy.
But, if this is an option for how to die,
it does sound like the only good one I have ever heard.

So I said that.
And then my mentor suggested I go home
and practice
living that same way.

Interesting,
how orgasms struggle through rhapsodic time
while dying struggles against too-fast competing time.

Orchards recurring: Two twenty year olds
on dissimilar paths undaunted by love’s

tapestry approaching exclamatory
yields of apricot musk and peach marmalade

their unified voice. It was you. Tonight you’ll take
me in Albuquerque sex 10,000 miles away.

I’m walking home from Dane Smith Hall thinking of
Houston - how it’s become a common noun I’ve told

you about while outside the fraternity house
and it’s increasingly proper status

watching us smoke cigarettes. Our unspoken
thoughts vanish. Grey. White. Blue. Oncology.

A Dry Riverside

Cherished by many desperate with no joy
Within the heartbeat of exclamatory rough homeboy
Finds peace too merry and blue sky solitary
Walking on all four and not seen as he tarry
Clothes wet with sweat and thwacked toes overlaid
Feels beaten, tired, sleepy, baked and guilty afraid

None by to elevate him hence
And missing a lot to commence
Only alive for a borrowed time
Regrets poverty a giant crime
Fights the inner frustrations she intends at ease
Marries a toothy refuge and breaks it to meeting this peace

At a waterless shore he withholds the power he sought
In friendless state, pale, unwise, and dug minds wrought
And no more feels seated on or carried like garbage and thrown away
Always find choice in what you love and not be met halfway
Trace brightly your footsteps if you can
But run away from them and accomplish a life span

Resounding Reciprocity

your friends hardly recognize you
your vitiligo so effected your self esteem
we all got together to make a spotlight day for you
for once you cry happy tears when you tell us you feel beautiful
i then recite a poem for you while a crown is put on your head
you sit at the head of the royal table still in shock and disbelief
as i attempt to bow at your royal feet, you stop me halfway
you brush your lips against mine and tell me Love Is King and God Is Love today
you then take my hand and we go to our little secret place
here skin and looks do not matter....only friendship and admiration
you brush your lips against mine again and whisper a thank you in my ear
i tell you beauty is in the eyes of the beholder of friendship and doing unto others
it was our turn now to give a little something to you....to say....an exclamatory THANK YOU....

A Poem About Love In a Banishment Basement of Confusion

i am honestly drawing a blank
i am struggling to underline the underlying reasons
my head is spinning and the rest of my body is stone still frozen
just yesterday, we were laughing it up and being big ole kids
interrogative sentences are dominating my thoughts
excruciating exclamatory expressions are slowly boiling my body
the bed that she sleeps in is warm and comfortable
the basement sofa that i am sleeping on is old, worn, careless, and cold
i stare at the pitch black darkness and do not notice daylight creeping in
the space has turned into an alternate reality with no close route to escape
i start my day with a liquefied case of babbling bubbleguts
as i head upstairs with an already raw backside, you smile and say good morning
your smile is the prettiest that it has ever been
your routine is as smooth as us getting along on a regular day
before your true inner emotions come out, i grab a cheese danish and an orange juice and head back downstairs
i don't know why i got this stuff for breakfast because i just cannot eat
my stomach is in too many frustration knots
my head is not throbbing from the multiple blanks that i drew throughout the night
i slowly and reluctantly head back upstairs with a prayer bag filled with peanuts
love is a zookeeper with a thick layered itinerary
if it all was so simple, i actually think that i would lose interest and remain ignorant

Half a Mind

I often wonder if I were to wander about
How often i'd fall into love or into doubt
Then she slips up and catches me again
Frees me as I ponder, just who have I been?

You could say darling, that I have half a mind
Cause the other one isn't mine to mind, yet
It was a startling find to be sure, oh to be sure
Of anything with her, her love my only cure!

Oh exclamatory sentences are fair game in love
War within went off without a hitch, like a glove
Honey because you had the other half, snatched
It right out from under my nose, and thatched
Together a right charming peace.
