Best Envious Poems
Envious hearts would never be lovers of truth and justice but devotees to falsehood and injustice!*
(c) Demetrios Trifiatis
04 June 2016
* Today I received a soup mail from someone who never visits me, accusing me of supporting someone who harasses ladies and gentlemen alike!
I would never commit injustice against anyone! I only comment on the poem written ignoring why the poem is written.
Sometimes poems are fictitious. It is impossible to know what is in the mind of the writer since there are no names of the supposed victim! I DECLARE THAT NEVER SUPPORTED OR WILL I SUPPORT ANY INJUSTICE and would like to let this person know that I am a free man and an honest one! It is better for the author of that soup mail not to try to turn one person against the other. Here we are not to divide people but to unite them! At least I AM DOING IT IN PRACTICE.
God bless him who sent me the message and may he sees the light and stop creating groups to fight one against the other so as for him to reign! I also ask all our soupers to work in harmony for we suppose to be poets inspired by God and since GOD IS LOVE let us LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

Twas a laugh a minute, a cry a day,
Then you found her, and she took you away,
The days are now weeks, Seconds now gone,
The music stopped playing on our love song.
She now has your smile, your touch and your laugh,
How much I miss you, you don’t know the half.
Never have I felt such pain in my heart,
Than when your with her, and not in my arms.
I see you with her, tears well in my eyes,
I watch from afar, my heart breaks inside,
But I had you once, and I let you go,
Now you've replaced me, and I am alone.
I learnt my lesson, I learnt it hard,
Now and forever my heart will be scarred.

Recently broke free from the chains of apartheid
the bottom region of the second largest island
possessing three power houses to the usual one
and one of the local champions spare heading its region.
It has its own share of true records
housing both the smallest and largest plants.
The only volunteer to abandon programs of nuclear developments
and boasts of a population worthy of a global market.
From the cheapest electricity to the largest wine route,
to the train which is most enjoyable and expensive
and a street shined on by two golden stars,
but now gradually becoming a chronic and xenophobic addict.

Ode
.
overcast sky broods, darkens, threatens
crystal creek tumbles, splashes, sparkles
"nagalugitom sa dag-om ang kalangitan
nagalukso-ambak, nagkidlapkidlap ang sapa"
might be the sky envies the creek's mirth,
the frolic of butterflies and damselflies
"basig nasina ang langit sa kalipay ug hudyaka
sa mga alibangbang ug tapuri nga nagdula-dula,"
that fly and flit and tease the gleaming ripples
near glades of green and flowers in bloom
"nagsaoy-saoy, nagsakdapsakdap sa tin-awng tubig
lunhawng kasagbutan ug mabulokong kabulakan?"
frolic and fun.."paghudyaka? pagmaya?"
spite and envy.."pagkamaigihon? pagkamasinahon?"
.

Pastoral
This is the greatest struggle that mocks me,
To be a distant sigh, caused by this queen;
A rose that has yet to compliment thee,
beyond the scope of eyes, already seen.
There is mystery in her soft appeal,
a humble frame that solicits my quest;
and while life leaves us with answers concealed,
I’m convinced this broad advance is perfect.
For while life is bitter, this is pleasure;
To gracefully shatter this mundane silence,
and dispel the devils space, indeed clever;
let’s rejoice in brief absence coined timeless.
With these tendencies forever burning,
may this one flesh never cease from yearning.

An add to two to form a paste
three in a tie as a broom
try to fit in, it's a waste
one to gel on two in the room
not on a ban, the spy has taste
one bad eye to bid for a groom
can aim, fly and get in a haste
a pet ago is now the doom
war for a bro, she is to let
her hug can dig a big outlet
to tow any to the toilet
day to day, he is her button
he's not for her, far in Bolton
how to cut him out, ask Newton

Sonnet
Night dons a spectacular sequenced shawl,
sparkling with trillions of stars, like cosmic candles
twinkling within the blackness of space.
And a golden moon hangs high;
a gilded bobble mirrored on a placid lake,
where moonbeams dance to the sound of applauding waves.
Vampire shadows, clinging to shifting silhouettes
gorge on the remnants of colors bled from Day;
as liquid ebony inks every crag and crevice.
Darkness descends like a curtain;
creatures of the night frolicking within its folds.
And fizzling shooting stars unzip the seams of space;
martyrs to beauty, plunging to their deaths.
And as a scarlet sun slowly sinks,
crimson encapsulates lovers entangled in the night.
And passion sets the air afire;
as electrifying sparks of euphoric bliss,
summon spontaneous fantasy wishes.
An emotional trance, out of phase with time,
invites innocence to dine at the table of love.
And intimate feelings are shared and explored;
afloat in sensual waters.
A phantasmagorical bonding of flesh and spirit
is forged by the heat of desire,
fueling two hearts, beating as one.
And as a blushing Mars rises to the occasion,
Venus peeks down with envious eyes.

Free verse
In Greek mythology Partenope was a beautiful siren
who frequented the shore of Cuma on warm days
to deride the strong and handsome Odysseus
who was madly in love with a very young woman.
On that shore of delightful scents there was a pristine beach
washed by a pretty sea and while Odysseus was eager to teach
love to this virgin....golden as sun rays, fragile as sunflowers;
a tearful Panepole watched them touch, kiss and close eyes.
Were rejection and resentment the causes of all she became?
Her anger was enough to disturb the noon's beautiful peace
and stop them from being two souls immensely passionate,
but she needed the help of Poisedoin who stirred many seas.
Poisedoin's voice echoed through swelling clouds turning gray to rave,
" How dares Odysseus court a mortal...a mere earthly worm! "
And with a furious gesture, he cried out and started a storm;
" Ignore the angry God!" Odysseus shouted running with her into a cave.
" I came to Italy with my fellow Cumans to find happiness by loving
this woman who'll bear my children! " He replied with defiance
to the angered Poisedoin who kept on rising waves disliking his rudeness...
" Tell Partenope not to stalk me...she's an envious siren without feeling!"
A loud earthquake shook the entire sea and Cuma was submerged in water,
but in his haste Poisedoin had forgotten to warn Partenope of the danger...
she was swollen up by a huge wave and washed ashore like fishes and shells;
Partenope's jealousy caused her own death and we remember her on stormy days.

Epic
The envious peach tree watched the nut
produce great quantities
so she resolved to do the same
“no one out does me.”
When the harvest came
her children did abound
which caused her roots to snap
and broke her to the ground.

Have you ever wondered
Why our wars have no end?
And peace no friend
No settlement, ever wandered!
The deadly potion, envy
A loving poison, hearty heavy
A crush of love, mould of hate
Rise of a lethal mind state...
Do you ever wish an end
To wails and agony of wars?
Let love wrap hands extend
Bolting forever envy doors...
Merry with success
Your shut gates, give access
Milk the young fine juice
Flush out the feud ice...
Embrace clean shoulders
Unseen eyes, pure look
Lips attractive laughters
Void of venom and wan outlook...
Let your heart this mind
Envious of no one
Be kind of a good kind
For peace ever to be won...

Envious of things ever so various
Furious of others’ successes
Paying close attention to goals becoming precarious
That have deeply consumed my mind
Especially what others have achieved in little time.
Focused on everyone else’s aspirations
While my own goals continue to decline
Submissive to any sort of temptation
Forces its way back into my mind
Provocation making my time benign.
Coming to a realization long protracted
To accept everything that is done and gone
To move forward and not become distracted
Disregarding leeches attached like a prawn
Setting mindset to additives not what’s subtracted.
It is an everlasting challenge
To ignore all of your shortcomings
Even harder to focus just on yourself
And to not think about everyone else.
One must continue to remember
That only you can change your life
You are the lone sole contender
It is only your hand holding that knife
That flips through the pages of life
Striding forward with any sense of fight.
Regardless of others’ successes
Envious of them ever so various
Accept that the past is done and gone
Control your own future
Not any other person but you.
