Earthbound Angels

I was at a place I didn't want to be,
and was privileged to see angels
working around me.

The angels in heaven were praising
and singing, as the night angel
here on earth quietly was
comforting a lady here on this plane.

With a soothing voice ,the night
angel talked to reassure and
with a touch of a hand let her
know someone was there.

There also was a day angel ,as
busy as she was took time to
cool a hot brow, talk to this
sweet lady suffering her last
days, like she heard every word.

So give praise to God's angels
here on earth ,they do not look
like angels but angels they are.

So bless them do,
Nurses they are ,all around you.

Earthbound

He looked at the child on the ground,
the night quiet, no sound,
child shot in a needless crime,
as his hands tingled as if frozen in time,
he leaned forward, his pale skin beaming,
his sympathy fell hard,
his emotions, streaming,
his fury, steaming,
his reality, dreaming,
he made no effort to make
his physical demeanor hide how he felt,
it was no mistake,
death brings,
a failure to receive wings,
he was the Angel assigned to protect the child,
he snapped,
and held up a restraining hand,
now trapped,
and no longer can he demand,
so forever earthbound he’ll stand.

Earthbound Angel - 2

Earthbound Angels (2)

You know him,
or perhaps
someone like him,
and average guy
a bit shy
no wings
allowing
Him to fly

Average,
says many,
but to family
He’s plenty:
Helpful
Giving
Loving
And kind

He wears
his words
on a sleeve
as his bond;
Love
and truth
His daily
motto

Earthbound Angel - 1

Earthbound Angels (1)

You know her,
or perhaps
someone like her,
getting by
day to day
no wings
allowing
her to fly

Average,
says many,
but to family
her attributes
are plenty;
a kind nature
wearing a smile
for all

She carries
her heart
on the sleeve
of her words
giving freely…
a glimpse
into a love
filled soul

Earthbound Sobriety

While crossing Verrazano Narrows Bridge
recurring mem’ries of New York recapture
history and civilization of the two boroughs
provide me with deep interest and emphasis.

Brooklyn in its old Dutch for “broken land,”
and Staten Island named “Staaten Eylandt”
named in the early 1600s by Henry Hudson,
trailed off on a tangent through centuries.

A myth or perhaps a legend, the island thus far,
was like a quagmire of townships and disputes;
its meaning to immigrants’ culture and religion,
favored silence, security, peace, and integration.

The burden of too many choices based on clans,
growing businesses and stories of interactions;
new immigrants in droves through generations
like an orchestra combined with a sense of drama.

Reflections of their struggles to make ends meet,
reminded me of articulation through interpretation;
in sobriety of heeding of the composer’s intent,
such a musical piece made me suffer and sweat.

Oh, the pedal, rhythmic vitality and expression!
all these elements comprise what piano playing is,
the technique, in a special way, a benchmark item
indeed, a struggle to interiorize those conventions.

But as a human person with some limitations,
with my own history and capability in playing,
I see where I can be fit and freely express myself;
through movements in diverse missionary works.

As it says in French, “bon débarras, il est partí.”
my life continues with a backlog of other issues,
a different world focused on service to the Lord;
with my own repertory – its beauty to humanity.

It’s true that my prayer for the church at large,
is also a bridge across the gulf of separation;
coming to this borough of Staten Island
a hodge-podge of concerns, covenanted within.

Now that relationship with God and people
brings me to nourish that faith and commitment;
with that long stretch of Verrazano Narrows Bridge,
a metaphor to my own journey as a missionary.

Most games are well-grounded,
To earthen goals they can defeat.
While few rise above the horizon,
With constant volleys they can repeat.

The game elevates to new heights,
                    Gracefully reaching above it all.
                        As angelic figures fly beyond,
                            Earthbound shackles that seem small.

                                Although clear boundaries guide play,
There's no limit from what divides.
The mortal effort to touch the heavens,
                                            Where the ethereal collides.

Earthbound

I will remember whispers on the breeze.
Perfumed incense, honeysuckle sighs.
Firelight smouldering
Earthbound spirits draped in starlight.
Dark’ning skies
Reflecting maiden moon.

I will remember voices in the storm.
Shadows cloaked in midnight promises.
Swirling silver streams.
Earthbound spirits weaving dreams of
Dark desire
Reflecting moonless night.

I will remember echoes on the wind.
Serpent smiles, mistress of enchantment.
Belladonna eyes.
Earthbound spirits sacrificing
Tears of blood
Reflecting changeling moon.

I will remember, shadows in the mist.
Your gentle voice a distant memory.
I sense your presence
Earthbound spirit dancing through the
Veil of death
Reflecting endless twilight.

Earthbound

Splintered souls are rising
and falling down below
the reasons are not surprising
but the outcome is still a blow

watch out says the woodsmen
blasting out kindled ashes
mistaken are the poor men
blocked by their fiery flashes

cradled are the holy
no less to feel the shame
while the wicked cry out wholly
taking all the blame

failing to find the answers
that lie within the sovereign tale
bewitched by fevered lancers
who quickly heard the bell

to find the stifled sounds
of their departed lives and plans
foregoing spacious bounds
banging in tin cans

black-hole save them that drifted
down roads of darkened sands
who drink the cup they sifted
and flee to more suited lands

EARTHBOUND

a miniature rose
beauty in beholder’s eyes —
golden lotus springs

3/5/2021

From wikipedia: There are a number of stories about the origin of foot binding before its establishment during the Song dynasty. One of these involves the story of Pan Yunu, a favourite consort of the Southern Qi Emperor Xiao Baojuan. In the story, Pan Yunu, renowned for having delicate feet, performed a dance barefoot on a floor decorated with the design of a golden lotus, after which the Emperor, expressing admiration, said that "lotus springs from her every step!" (????), a reference to the Buddhist legend of Padmavati, under whose feet lotus springs forth. This story may have given rise to the terms "golden lotus" or "lotus feet" used to describe bound feet; there is, however, no evidence that Consort Pan ever bound her feet.[3]

Cry not my earthbound angel, know that there are changes at their charge.
Keep your faith, your heart strong.
Begin to feel the warmth, release your inner glow, in time a knowing will begin its bloom.
Close your eyes in sleep.
Dream again, fear not what the messenger brings.
Although you may not see me with your eyes know my shadow will always be by your side.
Do not hesitate to reach out your hand.
I will feel your touch no matter where I may lay.
Do not hesitate to release your call.
The wind will carry your echo to my ears.
The silent breezes caressing your skin will be the breath of my own whispers.
The sudden blush that settles upon your cheek will be from the warmth of my own lips.
Cry not my earthbound angel, even though time is marching live on knowing my love for you forever will reside.

Earthbound Ectasy

lead me back to earth
make me smell the flowers again
show the way to the bird bizarre
oh how i miss your rhythm

kiss my lips so i can taste vanilla heaven
caress me gently so i can feel chocolate paradise
ride me thoroughly so i can vibe on the smooth paved road of life
blast me off so i can just drift into a spontaneous space with you

then let's top it all off by making each other's favorite dessert
i feed you double fudge pleasure peace cake
you feed me aspiring exponential oreo pudding
afterwards, lets push the button together once again....AND WE'RE OFF!

I walk around to and fro
I have no home so I roam
My existence is meaningless
And I can't reach him
Something separates us
A strong force won't let me near him
Why can't I touch him?
He looks so very sad
My heart is aching and breaking
Something is wrong
All of a sudden like a flood
The memories came back
He is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde
He did this to me, it his fault
I told him to seek help for his demons
I thought loving him would cure him
Alone in our home he changed
right before my very eyes
He told me how much he loved me
as he choked the very life out of me
I am in love with a monster and
I alone took that terrible and deep
dark secret to my grave

Earthbound Paradise

Earthbound Paradise

Ruby red sapphire blue blossoms stand,
    in the diamond stream,
        little silver fishes play.

on a sky of robin's shell,
    Cotton puffs of cloud,
        golden gobs of sunlight glow.

Jade jewels of verdant green,
    along broad banks,
        of mink made, grow.

Ermine blasts of petals,
    lie beneath the shadowed shade,
        of tawny trees.

The pulchritude of paradise on earth,
in my mind's eye clearly seen,
        since birth.
            visited only in a dream.

Earthbound

A falling silent sky
And upside down, in this sky I cry
Broken rules as all silence screams
The air is thin, is this but a dream?

A glowing distant star
It comes so close, but its warmth is far
Moonlight recites painful rhyme
In space I breathe, but choke all the time

A fading planet of blue
The ocean all, reminds me of you
With such delight I feel the sun
Reflects the earth, as I am undone

Solace of my disease
That I can see, but never reprieve
Creature of mine so peaceful here
The blackest hole becoming so clear

Burning in bitter night
The webs of pain have made darkness bright
So close to death and drifting alone
I have become the faded unknown

A glowing distant star
The warmth has scorched, now it’s not so far
The scattered night silencing fear
Now thoughts of you; the ocean so clear

Swimming in currents of light
The reflecting stars charting my flight
My tears reclaim the need for your love
Just take me home, with all space above

Dream leaf “fall” usher
motley hue cascade unfurls
dull gray sky gaunt sun
mud strewn pockmark on limp moss,
wet nabs ripe fruit orchard splurge

Moonlit gemstone reach
lunar auspice chill whisper
green hewn splintered twig
earthbound autumn wild pageant
scaly branches in a heap

Dark cobalt clouds float
city folk’s shivering gaze
market stalls thriving
the whiff of laden soup bowls
coffee dock ice drop buffer

Deep coal fire aglow
shelter from harsh weather gust
frozen nostrils twitch
as they plough the fertile patch
in league with season bounty
