Differences We Shouldn'T See

I am here surrounded by
People of every shape and size
Skin color--disability
Why can't everybody see
We may be different from outside
Open your eyes, you will find
The similarities that we all share
Look closely--cause they are there
Red blood pumping through us all
Trying to stand, we sometimes fall
Fear anger and devotion
We can not hide these emotions
Hunger burns when we desire
Everybody has a fire
That grows from embers and ashes
Memories in our mind flashes
Recalling all sweet and bad times
Sometimes we can cross a line
But loved ones bring us right back
When we are about to crack
Tears, disgust, terror and hate
Are feelings we can all create
Greed and negativity
Are two things that shouldn't be
Part of who some people are
Sometimes it just goes too far
Racism and bullying
Two more hurtful ugly things
we need to try and delete
So everybody can defeat
The cruelty we can display
Are you hearing what I say
Knowing how alike we are
Should let us get very far
Uniting in joy and peace
This wrong view will stop and cease

Differences

What causes discord amongst us
Diverse religions, lack of trust
Adversity coursing through our veins
And dogma embedded in our brains

We’re born so innocent and naïve
But disappointed, we do leave
The dearth of harmony and of peace
Will cause dissension to increase

Divergent races
Different cultures
Contrasting viewpoints we encounter

This leads to destruction
And turns to pain
So rivalry and hatred will remain

Let’s change misunderstanding
And let acceptance reign
Because we’re the same in eyes of God
And let humanity shine

There really is no difference
We all want the same things
Be good to one another
And kindness, this will spring

Her Differences

A world of light and no differences there,
A town full of people bright colors and more.
Her darkness in the world
Her walk was singing the most beautiful melody,
Looking at her made some think dreams could be reality
Some people said she was utterly disgusting,
They walk past and thought wow she is something.
Her darkness, her beauty, she really made a difference.
In a world full of color, she echoed in sorrow
The dark clothes, her hair, and face full of black makeup
They called her ugly just because she was different
Faces they gave her and things that they said,
A woman that was thought to only be seen in books,
A witch? A vampire? A monster of a person.
No! she was not she was just different,
In a world full of color no one understood her.
She was just who she wanted to be and no one could change it

Why There Are Differences

Celebrations everywhere,
when a boy gets birth.
When a girl comes in this world,
A burden to earth.
This tradition is like a whirl,
Why there is difference between boy and girl? ? ? ?

Man's status is rank by a paper note,
It does not give any importance to vest, but much to a coat.
Friendship is done with how beautiful clothes you wear,
For poor, it is like it has fare,
This is not what our culture teach,
Why there is difference between poor and rich? ? ?

In these all they don't know each other,
But difference is there in love for children born from same mother.
Why all love is given to young,
Without elders they are like body without lungs.
I need your love, mother,
Why there is difference between me and my own brother? ? ?

Though money, people also not leave one's knowledge,
Each one is bound in competition's cage.
They don't understand everyone has his own talent.
Today's competition has make student's creativity faint.
That time, when all were equal, went,
Why there is difference between dumb and intelligent? ? ?

I hope by this poem there would be change in people senses.
And THERE WOULD BE NO DIFFERENCES….

As my pen declares and writes the truth
Just look around at everyone that’s the proof
Everyone is different in some many ways
But it is methodical that we all hope to see another day
By faith I see the unseen things hid from all earthly eyes;
What I’ve seen will make you cry
You may think I'm tough;
But you have no idea my life has been so rough
Many have judged me because the color of my skin
I have never let color or gender stop me for wanting to be their friend
But like they say sheer ignorance is bliss
I have a question, “In what ways do you think we can fix this?”
Now days a lot of people feel grander and they differentiate,
And against those who are different they discriminate.
It feels as if I was just a shadow of the day,
But in the light I exist and in darkness, I am gone away!

It Was Different Back Then

As a child, morals are all about black and white,
Will this hurt them or give them a fright?
It was simple back then when everything was either right or wrong,
Those days are now long gone.
The days where our Mums would tell us what do,
Help guide us all the way through.
They were all don’t steal, don’t lie,
We’d do something wrong and get to ask ‘why?’
Gone are the days where things were either good or bad,
Where if you did something wrong you could run to your dad.
He would give you lecture, just a little speech,
Where in it the difference between right and wrong he would teach.
It was all about being nice and caring,
If you were cruel you had to be daring.
It was easy to know what to do and how to be polite,
We’d smile and be good before going to sleep for the night.
Now look at us now, in a constant confused state,
Is it good? Is it bad? Is everything fake?
There are little grey areas hidden in every topic,
No one even knows for sure how to stop it.
Everyone has a different opinion to base on what to do,
On how to live and see this life through.
Its all dependent on what you want or believe.
We were always told if you do good things, great things you’d achieve.
Now that were older the morals are all different,
Life had made some of us wiser and others ignorant.
Really it comes from one thing, one thing is how it starts.
Simply put morals come from what you let rule your heart.

Equally Yoked Aka Differences

She loved to go out
I loved to stay in.
She loved to live free
I wanted to see what game was playing.
Even With Colgate
We had different tastes.
She'd prefer Gel.
I'd prefer Paste.
She loved to take long drives
I worried about the gas.
She wanted to eat out
But I always passed.
She loves to laugh
I kept a scowl on my face.
She likes to savor things
I acted like life was a race.
She is optimistic
I always think the worst.
She is patient
I like to be first.
She loves affection
I didn't want to be touched.
She likes to make love
I just wanted to phuck.
She gave people trust
I kept them an arm's length from me.
She loves all people
Me I'm not so friendly.
She read The Bible
I read Urban Fiction.
She was attentive
While I never listened.
Life never got her down
Me I just worried.
She took her time
While I always hurried.
She loved to go to Vegas
I worried about the cost.
She wanted me to take the lead
I didn't want to be the boss.
She loves to go to church
I always stayed away.
She'd beg me to go
"I'm busy" I'd say.
She liked to go shopping
I didn't go, she went alone.
I'd rather be chilling
Right here at home.
She loved to hang out with her sisters
She loves her family.
I'm not close to my fam
So it didn't bother me.
She loves her family
She feels the need to protect them
I told her I couldn't stand them anyway
So I rejected them.
She wanted to hug
But I just sat in my blue recliner.
Now I'm looking for her
Now I can't find her.
I guess our differences
Were too great & wide.
I should've done more
I really should've tried.
Our differences made her leave
Man, this ain't no joke.
When you love someone
Make sure that you're Equally Yoked.

You Resemble Me

Face framed ornate, or curl corner blu tacked up
Childhood fanciful daring must softly be contained
Dispicable hovers inside cherub cheeked adorable
Challenge for enamoured to create correct shape
Administer discipline with compassion entangled

Potential beckons infant innately curious
Toddler discovery meshed with messiness
Woven with wonderment routine can't limit
Succumbed mother disowns justifiable furious
Besotted witness, sure estate for mischief

Nudging daughters towards beings approved
Beyond old rigidity, modern option multiples
Youth spoken forums we're foreigners to
Images of genuine and fake indiscernible
Listened to lunacy delivers messages askew

Duty to daughters reflect our similarity
Penciled declarations stuck to fridge
Devotedness focussed on child precious
Inflated effort, parents' universal currency
Whether meagre expenditure, or excess

Snippets of your prosper are written in me
Lawyer loads clothes into washing machine
Submerged both classes in a world severe
Puppets of striving in fast passed society
Consumer boom boldly commandeered

Disparity reveals parental symmetry amazing
Faithfully accommodating girls' shifting needs
Working mothers, each of us 'unaccompanied'
Various sized resources serve child raising
Sacrifice made by dedicated souls equally

Providing guidance, friendship gripes quieten
Line of latitude curved by desire to control
Old school wisdom bolsters brains susceptible
Dramatised screen infused new century children
Content quickly spirals into unacceptable

Desperately hoping, we Mother soldiers
Shield children from future provocation
Hold fort, nest feathered dedication
Thrusted comfort, reluctant scolders
Admist mixed rails, reliable station

Within swayed pre teen trajectory
Sturdy parenting depots journey
Home stands firm from outside duress
Finances overshadowed by reliability
Partnered peers approve sole success

Premium Member God Absolutely Loves Color

GOD ABSOLUTELY LOVES COLOR!!!

Have you ever really contemplated the varieties
of colors in flowers, fish, birds, animals even
the beautiful sunsets in the heaven at times?
Then why don’t we appreciate the colors GOD has
made in creating man? Like the little Bible song
that children learned stating man as, red, yellow
black and white they are precious in HIS sight!

How uninteresting Earth would have been had HE
colored everything, black, or white…! Say everything
was black… birds, trees, fish, flowers, animals, even
the sunsets or white, the same way! But, even then
man would have found something other than color to fuss
about… with the devil’s help of course! But don’t be fooled..
this racism is not just man fussing over this, man is getting
fueled by the ole’ devil. He is not at all happy when there
is peace and acceptance, love, and joy among GOD’s creation!

Those of us who are called by HIS name need to
agree together and rise up and put this “racism”
devil on the run and also put him under our feet where
he belongs and let GOD have HIS way! Diversities
among peoples can be a beautiful thing not a divisive,
unfruitful and hateful things but it actually should be
celebrated! I pray that we will keep the devil under our feet in the
coming days! Let’s make a point of loving people even
for their differences!

I will share this one thing that happened to me several
years ago now on a job. I was working with a younger
woman who had what you would call a “potty mouth”.
She used terrible language which really gets
to me. Now, I could have been hateful to her about it
but, instead, I asked the LORD to give me a love for her instead
of anger, and HE did! I brought her over to my home and taught
her how to crochet, and we laughed together and had
a great time. I share JESUS with her to and she really ended
up becoming like my little sister. You see, GOD will do those
things if we ask HIM and if we will do what HE says to do. Anyway
with HIS help, we had love and peace in our office!

Let’s choose, love over hatred so we can have peace
in our country!

Pretty Differences

Pretty Differences
--S.I.KHAN

I remember the night; I was talking to you all silly...
Never did I know, would fall for u so easily...
But you were someone so unique to me...
I couldn't hold on to myself but with u, to be...
Although I knew, between us...
It was the best of times; it is the worst of times,
It was the age of wisdom; it is the age of foolishness
It was the epoch of belief; it’s the epoch of incredulity
It was the season of light; it is the season of darkness
It was the spring of hope; it is the winter of despair
It was minute of togetherness; it is the ages of estrangement
We had everything before us; we have nothing forth us...
I was everything to you; I’m nothing for you...
In you, I had my world, now I don't have you...
I’m so lost still lost in you...

Square Peg Round Hole

I'm a Lemon-Drop Vodka Martini
You are refreshing healthy Green Tea
You are cautious, resistant, frisky
I am feisty, playful, risky

I am rough country, loud voices
You are smooth jazz, soft noises
You are a sitting, talking sweet lyric
I am a standing, dancing free spirit

I blossom in excessive stimulation
You desire quiet contemplation
I crave social places where I can be free
You crave something more low-key

We don’t get each others personality
We merely accept the others reality
Defensive, marching to our own tunes
We release the past, mending wounds

Where I am happy, you get dizzy
Where you are happy I get uneasy
Let go the idea we were meant to be
Accepting fate, ending fantasy

You were the key, I was the lock
It did not fit, you had to knock
Square peg, round hole
Even writing took its toll

Lesson learned in less than a season
Knowing we met for a good reason
Hearts were healed, growth was gained
Glad our friendship still remained

Differences Difference Is

Differences; Difference Is
Some call it interracial some call it jungle fever
Difference between you and them is your love grows hotter than fall heaters
To you its beautiful to them it's unheard of
They ask you why can't you do what every one else does
And that's because of your differences
Difference is it's your world against what they say
Walk their path or live life your own way
Don't adjust the color let them see the light
It's about your own happiness and the flavors you like
It's all an equation but color shouldn't be variable
Evil resides in the mind set so others are always unstable
To you it ain't no thing to them it's an sin number 11
People seen to desert you as if forgotten on an isle
In time they may see the error of their ways
Until then guard ya mind against the worlds that they say
  Live the way you live
Thrive above the view and the lies
Disregard the color and hold your love above it all
