A Message To the United States Government
You can take away my right to freedom of speech
You can take away my right to pray in public
You can take away my citizenship
You can monitor my internet
You can keep track of the books I read
You can take my home, my car, the very clothes on my back...
But you WILL NOT take my God from me.
Even you don't have that much power.

Having discussed it with many elementary educators
Critical Race Theory is NOT being taught in our schools
C.R.T. is buzzword used by right-wing radical agitators
Who are preaching Christian nationalism as its goal.
No elementary school child could understand the C.R.T.
Its tenets are debated at the highest levels of psychology
[Those tossing around the term cannot explain it to me!]
And I’ve training in graduate level theology and sociology.
We need to be careful the terminology we toss around,
For we are seeing incredible distortions in our foundations,
Many of our principled institutions are running aground
Because of crazy conspiracy theories and wild speculations.
We have political leaders who are spouting outrageous lies
Who are actually attempting to overthrow our government,
Forgetting our forefathers who paid the supreme sacrifice
And, not dealing with pressing problems, like our environment.
Essentially, we must prepare the next generation well
For we are leaving them with incredibly difficult problems--
They need truth, they need proper tools, if they are to dwell
On this planet—not impractical and meaningless theorems.
So, instead of a lot of malarkey about Critical Race Theory
And undermining the principles upon which we were founded
Instead of playing on commonfolks’ emotions, getting all teary,
We need to make sure the next generation is well-grounded.

There are countless ways
to see, judge, and act;
like in theology or other disciplines
where values and concerns
reflect the right meaning.
As Christians committed to life
a great taste for relationship
becomes the centerpiece,
the priority in a journey.
It’s in this context though,
that human relationship matters
where there’s a sharing of life,
along with the struggles and joys.
While everyone strives to be human,
at the major crossroads – difficulties
truly, they’re part of life’s experiences
known to shape from within
its interiority, the inner soul.
Many saints have experienced too
those moments of dryness,
doubt and reluctance in their prayers
notwithstanding their spirituality reveals
that right focusing on God alone.
Yet in our life’s articulation,
brings into the limelight – God’s love
it’s always a continuing revelation,
an endless concern in today’s culture;
with God and those around us
remain the basis of what life is all about.

How to tell the other half
How to tell the kids
How to tell family, friends
This hell that I've been bid
How to say it's cancer
How to tell I'm scared
How to be there for them
I'm really not prepared
How to tell what they think
How to ask for their help too
How to know I have the strength
Enough to pull us through

i try often not to give advice cause it;s not always wise
not everyone wants to hear your opinion on how to live their lives
so pay attention to yourself for this i do advise
instead of focusing on everyone else
for yourself will leave you otherwise

June 5 Scripture Meditations Based on Psalms 138-140
Key Verse – Psalm 138:8 The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth forever…
MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR PERFECTING THAT WHICH CONCERNS ME
Thank You for perfecting that which concerns me by Your grace
With my whole heart, I sing praise unto You in running life’s race
You always strengthen me through Your might’s brace
Never failing to help me midst afflictions’ trace.
Thank You for perfecting that which concerns me by Your holiness
With my salvation-propped faith, I worship You, devoid of selfishness
You always sanctify me in Your righteousness
Never abandoning me to wallow in sinfulness.
Thank You for perfecting that which concerns me by Your deliverance
With my heaven-bound future, I cling to You and Your assurance
You always uphold me midst fear-appearance
Never forsaking me to face challenges alone with Your forbearance.
Thank You for perfecting that which concerns me by Your preservation
With my ransomed soul, I rejoice in You and Your redemption
You always keep me around Your will’s protection
Never neglecting me to suffer grievous persecution.
Thank You for perfecting that which concerns me by Your leadership
With my blissful spirit, I follow You in my stewardship
You always guide me inside Your fellowship
Never hurting me to lament in loneliness offered by worldly friendship.
Thank You for perfecting that which concerns me by Your reproving
With my biblical conviction, I honour You along standards’ paving
You always teach me principles worth-having
Never insulting me to lose confidence in all-out sacrificial giving.

Who Cares?
Who cares…
When loved ones with dementia go missing and resources caregivers lack
When the poor are given a handout, not a helping hand to get on track
When lying scammers and telemarketers, seniors cannot hold back
And one bad decision results in suicide or homicide following a hack?

I hope you don't find this intrusive,
Or forward in any way,
Where are you, Rico?
Are you on Holiday?
I hope you are on Holiday,
And trying to give your brain a rest
Writing so many fab limericks,
It must be a cranial test.
Maybe, you are tired,
I hope you are not ill,
Is your brain temporarily unwired?
That would be a bitter pill,
To swallow, especially for one so bright,
I miss your contributions,
To PS
I sincerely hope you are alright!

Parallelismus Membrorum
Modernism
Has its roots penetrated deeply into
Barbarism,
Or still unfathomable depths.
So is History,
Lamenting over man’s destiny
Of blooms with pollens venomous.
Wonder
Flashes within, how has One squeezed
The massive essence of mountainous misgivings
And filled in an exceptionally delicate word-shell!
Expressions;
The silver snakes of blessed thoughts,
Gently glided over the shadowless sandy shores
Of serene sweetness, aspiring to dawn this planet
With the most wonderful source of energy ever;
A new tender Sun that might emit
Golden rays of hopes and promises immense.
Revolutions,
Marched over the ember-strewn paths
Of human history breaking the early shells of evolution,
Leaving shrouds of beguiling dark ashes .
I pray,
Hope, and dream the mighty word-squalls
To clear off the legendary curses
And enduringly emancipate the futurity.

Free verse
Grassy plains and fields were blanketed by tar
Paved parking lots for vacant malls take their toll
Abuse of resources was taken too far
Ash spews from volcanoes, earthquakes on a roll
Brisk breezes bring relief; sultry, summer days
Be grateful as gentle gusts grace our land
When hurricane winds whip fiercely, homes are razed
An omen we’ve been chastised by nature’s hand
Fire provides comfort on chilly winter nights
But the explosion over Hiroshima
Demonstrates man’s abuse of the atom’s might
Keeping fire, emotions reigned, the dilemma
Water gave birth to our planet’s first life forms
Pollution, man-made disasters now rampant
Sea life endangered as ocean water warms
To preserve them, efforts must be diligent
Though elements withstand ravages of time
Diminishing resources reflect man’s crimes

Defying gravity, I stand paralyzed on this wall day in and day out. Although my
friends and I spend time together in the forest, I feel ensnared like a mouse in a
trap. What makes me any different than a mouse caught in a trap anyway? Every
day people come to stare at me as if I am some attraction, some tool to please the
eyes of a murderous race. Oh what I would give to be that mouse…no one wants to
see the mouse: they just want to get rid of it. The fire of a thousand stares burn my
skin day after day. I now understand the difference between the mouse and the
unicorn: a quick, untimely death as opposed to my slow…my painful…my burning
existence. Species like me exist for the mere pleasure of others. I am the
entertainer. I am the jester. My so-called glory is the glory of a King led to His cruel
death. Is this how He felt? You who I was created to signify…is this what You felt? Is
this what You call glory? Man reveres me! They call me the most pure and the most
elegant of all the creatures! What have I done…what have we done to deserve
this? Why do I even ask? There is no use…my paralytic existence keeps my
questions from the world. If man could hear me for just one moment, I would tell
them this:
Walk across the room,
Spot the tapestry,
By the time you get there,
Man has slaughtered me.
Confused? Do some research on the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art's exhibit
of the tapestry room ;)

STILL HAVEN'T LEARNT THE ELDERS CONCERNS
Got older hope my live would be easier
But instead filled with societies " I told yaw so's"
High, low and no priced health care
Diseases, Alzheimer's, Dementia, Cataracts these are what the aged have
with other health issues and osteoporosis
Can't afford even the price of toilet tissue
still haven't leant elder concerns
still haven't leant elder concerns
Can't move as quickly can't race or jet
hard for me to get, get help
From family, church and so called friends
Rising cost of living;
Only the dead can afford?
There in a coffin their debts ignored maybe even forgiven
Friends most are as old as I am loneliness spending time with them and fam
means more than you think
wonderful wife/husband died gone on home to heaven
Alone more so than you think
Financial predators trying to sell me goods or services
they see me vulnerable
Grandchildren still sweet and loveable
I may be abused and neglected so unprotected
Aged eyes hard to see should I stop driving my vehicle
can't keep up with social climate changed computers, Tablets, Face Book
Twitter
Whatever happened to face to face, eye to eye communication?
What a nation?
They throw the elders away why the younger stay bitter
Again when will this nation learn?
They still haven't learnt the Elder's Concerns

Bipolar Brain
Will mental illness drive you insane,
Or will it force you to remain.
Locked up inside
Like a prisoner on death row
Barred in like somebody we used to know.
Prison wouldn't be so bad to me,
If I was wasn't already locked down, you see
In my own body I cannot move
Trapped inside a dimension we're trying to prove.
Maybe one day I'll be as free as a bird
Then hopefully I'll be heard.
Until that day where freedom is granted,
People continue to look at me slanted.
Like I'm so different from you or anyone,
I think you would listen if I brandished my gun.
That's how it feels on any given day

When it is all whittled down,
A core of freedom is left to place.
Where fundamental questions seek the
Constitution, for answers, case by case.
The fulcrum seems to slide back and forth,
From right to left at the start.
Seeking to balance the lever of justice,
And preserve humanities heart.
Here the weight of liberty on one end,
Shouldn't remove the gains on the other side.
Since the roots of law share this burden,
Where autonomy won't restrain what others applied.
If independence is our lofty goal,
That preference must be true and held high.
Where one's volition won't detract from another's,
And all voices are heard above the cry.
