You're going to be amazed here
comes the commonwealth games.
professional athletes putting on the
finest displays, what breath-taking
arrays of the fittest and the brave
We look on in awe, the devotion such
concentration to perform faultless
techniques, spot on!

I was thinking ... Absences
Used to make hearts grow fonder
Or so the proverb said, in my youth
True in some ways ... Untrue in another
Some have departed poetry and breath
Such is human existence
Absences makes a heart stronger
But only if we survive the heartbreak
(I no longer spend time with pets
Lest I get fond of them in Africa
Where crime pays ... Stealing
A post-Mandela culture here - sad to confess ...
( I fought apartheid too)
And so did the late Queen Elizabeth
The Commonwealth is her baby, growing again
After apartheid South Africa and Rhodesia
Tried to murder her Commonwealth of the nations
COMMONWELATH GAMES
Hey everybody Commonwealth Games are here
There will be fun, frolic,
And a lot of cheer!
There would be people present from all around the globe
From different cultures,
Clad in different robes
The crowds will be shouting and yelling and screaming
For all the winners whose faces would be beaming
There would be 53 countries 71 teams
Now is their time to fulfill their dreams.
I wonder how I would get there,
The roads will be jammed
Once I would get there,
The stadium will be crammed
So many medals
So many trophies are stashed.
Some would make it
Many’s dreams would be dashed
some would be stronger
some would be fitter
But I wish all the best to all competitors!!

A brilliant sunny day
Though death holds sway
Life rolls on for the rest
Haven't yet, been put to the test
T'is dark before the dawn
The dew still rests on the lawn
Change is the new order given
Home stay or mask driven
The politicians retreat for a break
Tax collections thin as a rake
Bills piling ; loans to be paid
From where, the next commonwealth raid?
Is there order in this madness?
Explain to us ,all the sadness
This angst must go away soon
This Christmas we want to be over the moon
Winnie the Pooh is invited
A fictional figure, a child’s
Friend and now a king’s witness
No sword heaved from a stone
A cuddly toy bear among the elite
More important than you or me
More relevant, than economy.
A leader living a child’s fantasy
The king’s clothes of equal absurdity
Yet the reality, covered in pomp
Advisers see nothing wrong or
Too sycophantic; just go along
A coronation, sing his favourite hymn
Poor bonny prince, lonely, soul.
Imaginary friends answering the call
Crowning a commonwealth leader
What would your friends think?
Carry a teddy to the office on Monday
Unemployment the following week
Yet the king will sit on his throne
His wife and Pooh to share his power,
Riches, palaces and home. Reassures
The country's confidence in the few.
God save our 2.2 king and of course, Pooh.

Upon the anniversary of soldiers who fought and died
When the moment comes to mark that sacrifice' when
starmer steps and strides, a wreath of treachery to lay
Then watch as the veterans turn.' As they express Britians
Anger, may parliament look and learn.? Learn of love
And loyalty..Of care, And how hearts burn; as they turn.'
Turn just as the ANZACS did.' With their own true blue; about turn!
Upon the lies and word Salads' also that endless churn' the twisting decieving coercion and scheeming, may the whole
World look and learn.' Although I don't approve of wars
I agree with the feelings inside, and the wish to right the
Ship of state. The right to live, in an 'honest pride' a right' of security, of solidarity
In dignity on all fronts' all backs and sides.!
