Best Colleague Poems

Farewell

Genteel and articulate,
An inspiration you have been.
Loyalty and Passion
In you, we have seen.

Rising through ranks,
Sweat blood all this while.
Making your way,
Through every test and trial.

It's about time,
To graciously pass the baton.
Leaving a legacy,
That we'll now build upon.

Your cabin walls,
Will confine you no more.
You're set free,
To venture and to explore.

Nostalgia lingers,
As we bid adieu.
Happy 2nd innings Sir,
A new life awaits you!

Dirge For a Colleague

If I had never known you now
I wonder who I could have been.
A word my soul it haunts, it’s “How?”
How could it be you, you so green!

When you get to the other place,
Make sure one day you recall me.
God, do grant you His thankless grace,
For ghastly you left, you’ll still be.

My thought keeps a picture of you,
Which to no one can I describe,
God, don’t do me as You could do,
Wipe out every curse from my tribe.

The other place which you now face,
Keeps me brooding, “How could that realm be?”
Then, how luckless the human race,
And that no one’s free, even me.

Colleague Or Combatants

IT REMINDS ME THAT WE ARE TOGETHER
AND IT IS BEST THAT WE STAY THAT WAY
IT GOES TO SHOW, OUR LOVE FOR EACH
OTHER, IT STANDS TO LET THE WHOLE
 WORLD KNOW.
IT GROWS ENCUMBANT, TO SHINE ABOVE
 THE REST
TO SPEAK IN WORDS TO ALLOW A WORLD
TO KNOW
IT'S REAL FOR THOUGHT
AND RIGHT IN TIME
IT SPEAKS TO THE COMPETION
BEYOND THE SHOW
THE RIGHFUL TOGETHERNESS
MAKE RYTHMN IN REASON
BEYOND, " THE DO OU LOVE ME STILL"
CREATED IN IT'S GREATNESS
CHAMPIONED IN WREST
THAT HIS CONTENTION
GOES TO SHOW
BEST BY DESIGN
THE HARDWORKING MAN
FACE TO FACE
THE PEOPLE STAND TO SEE
THEY APPLAUD FROM BELEIF
THE MAN'S GIFT FOR GAB
UNTIL THERE SUPRISED EYE'S
COME TO SEE
WHICH IS BEST
THE COMPANIED IN VERSE
BEYOND THE SCOPE OF THOUGHT
THE STAGE IS SET
THE BELTS HAVE BEEN BOUGHT
WREST CHAMPIONS WREST !

A Peaceful Sleep of a Colleague

Remembering your wonderful and gentle soul,
Smile and laughter, will forever remain in our hearts.
From a deep pain in your sleep,
You heard the bell from heaven,
Your good heart responded,
It stopped beating.

When doctors and nurses ran up and down trying to hold you back for us,
Your tasteful soul ascended to heaven.
Only your fresh body was peacefully lying on hospital’s bed,
That was it!!…the hour that Jesus Christ spoke of to his disciples in John 14:3
When he said “and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you may also be where I am”.
It is indeed the end of your journey under the sun,
Secretly, swiftly waited for you,
It is true; a seat has been well prepared just for you next to your master.

The doctors did not lie in their report,
Yet we’re struggling to believe it,
Only if this was a dream,
I was not going to pray for sleep again,
Just to guard you as you give me joy in my soul,

Nothing is making sense,
Your death was untimely,
Oh Lord, help us to understand your will,
We were raided the joy of the presence of our colleague in the office.
Those who knew you as Jojo, Fifi, Mshana, Advocate Joy Mashigo
Are repeating after me.
As we console our thoughts to believe that you are no longer in pain.
You were truly Joy to the world.

Joy…Our dear colleague, friend and sister
May you soul rest in eternal peace.
Moments we’ve shared together will forever remain in our hearts;

WE MISS YOU ALREADY
Till we meet again.
Till we meet again…

When Will This End

Another colleague had to die,
This is such a senseless crime.
How many of us must still take a knife or bullet,
Before our voices will be heard.

We protect everyone’s’ kids so that can feel safe,
Always have to be strong and brave.
But who protect us, from horrendous acts of violence?
   If children are the tyrants.

Parents don’t take responsibility for their kid’s disease,
They blamed their behavior on the deceased.
Always tell us we are too strict,
Or we just want to pick on their little kids.

But what if your child behave like a gangster?
   The class prankster.
Disruptive and rude, he and his brood.
Pulled out a gun and shot a woman’s husband,
   Children’s father, a sister brother,
   Parent’s son, and learner’s teacher.
When, and how will this end?
We as colleagues are unable to comprehend.

The Stumble and Rise

There once lived a colleague called James,
Lean, strolling in crowd without shame,
He tripped on a crack
Fell flat on his back
Then bounced up and said, "It`s a game!"
