The Daughter Tempest

"The Daughter Tempest"

we conceive monsters
and in their cognisance
of freedom
they break

they break
themselves

down
down
down

bit by bit
climbing
like a Minotaur
out of the Labyrinth

beauty is borne
in the will left
written and embalmed
in a stubborn heart

borne from destruction
the ugliness
becomes something
devastating

evolving some other
pulchritude inside
the myocardial eye
the mirror’s true nucleus

like notes in music
delivered to
the daughter
Tempest

I Decided

I DECIDED
Roy Mokoena

Making a final decision may be so hard,
living a doubtful life should be a discard.
Brains in the mind, I am able to think,
Smiling my heart out, it is time to prink.

My journey - I'll travel with confidence,
So my future is beyond my cognisance.
My battles are always fought with spears,
and never will I cry myself out to tears.

The decision that I have made,
a pure light that will never fade.
The smell of deodorant on my shirt,
All ladies are looking up for a flirt.

But I have decided, I have decided!
And by His mercy, I will be responded!

The Crazy Ones

Here is to you crazy fellas
Those who are covenanted to the religion of distinctiveness
And heralds of unique unthinkable patterns

Here is a salute to you
Those, who against the popular opinion and trend, stick to their principles and confession
Thus cementing their loyalty and guaranteed blessings

Here is a tribute to you
Those, who go against traditions in a bid to creating new arts and unconditional techniques
Thus cementing their status as dynamic civilization heralds

Here is to the dogged ones
Those who despite numerous failures, get back up and try for one more time
Thus embedding their names in the scrolls of the victorious

Here is a much needed recognition
Those, behind the scenes who humbly strive to attain victory, (which most people ascribe to another)
Thus laying favorable foundations, upon which their launching forth would be smooth sailing

Here are much needed encouragement

Persistently persist in your beliefs,
For in them you shall be celebrated

Give no cognisance whatsoever to people around, Who continually discourage you for they are spectators who must cheer for you when you make it

Love yourself much,
For you will certainly not feel the love around your environs

Love God best,
For only He can give you the strength to achieve all your heart desires.

Greater consciousness

Far from cognisance
in darkness of day,
Insensitive we wander
conscience at bay,

Cherishing beauty
of nature limitless,
His resources eaten
exhausted boundless,

Lost in materialism
savour the marmalade,
As tender souls
writhe behind our facade,

Illuminating aureole
only to perceive,
When decades of selfism
time will deceive,

The moment these ashes
rest in urn,
Greater consciousness
to the soul will return,

Bubbles in air float
as all desires lay to rest,
Merges into universe
serene every conquest !

A New Leaf

I'm making a personal decree,
As I learn the creed,
It's time I have to agree,

I'm changing my line of beliefs,
In the mighty deity I believe,
The eternal life I want to live,

I'm making it known to my kindred,
To the cognisance of my children,
Even my children's children,

Let it be known of my renaissance,
I need no interference,
Take it too to your cognisance,

There was war in my mind,
Too strong for my might,
Finally I'm back to light.

I want to change the air I breathe,
Change the books I read,
Change the clique I lead

Art of Love

Love diffusion,
Love recursion.

Disobedient to the external world we remain,
Never expedient - our love - never going to detain,

The more memories we obtain,
   More sweetness we gain.

Surrounded by LoveBirds
As our world lits,

Nonpareil in the universe, cognisance
Filled with the spectrum of our igniting consciece

Amorousness aroma drizzling through our soul so intense
Immaculate kiss mystic sense.

We are unique and thence optimistic,
  Purely euphemistic.

Faith essence, mutual defense,
Upholding bless.

Enlighting grace,
From lovers embrace.

We are conspicuous by our entailing qualities,
Prosperous by our personalities

Forever connected entities,
 Favoring our the inequalities.

Surpassing any misconseption,
With forgiveness iteration.

Love of art, the art of love,
You're my colorful art, my love.

My life. My rainbow, My sweety
For eternity.

To Her Lair

So close to me she sits yet I am blind,
the thoughts she seeks to plant within my mind.
Naivete prevents their cognisance,
as immaturity meets happenstance.

Much older she - though hesitant to move,
engages guile with swift effect to prove,
that taking prey is still within her grasp;
throws back her auburn locks which draws a gasp.

The drumbeat of my heart pounds in my ears
as adolescent yearnings stoke my fears;
transfixed, my body trembles as in flame,
untutored in the rules of this new game.

My eyes fixed straight and true at nought ahead,
determined not to show what may be read.
A sudden shift in my periphery
now juxtaposed us in this mystery.

As closer now our bodies are aligned,
her heat begins to dull my hurried mind.
Confused my arms fold tightly to my chest,
convincing me that I would fail the test.

Assured that somehow I’d escaped the net,
a silent breath unlocked my lungs and yet -
more hunger as my heart had ever known,
her fingers curling now around my own.

At once, commingling our symmetry,
my vision now explored infinity;
as one by one our senses coalesced,
held firm my arm she lay across her breast.

My fingers - warm, between her hand and heart,
begin to tear my innocence apart;
now energised, the ancient urges rise,
intent on satisfaction ‘ere it dies.

We tear ourselves apart - but holding fast,
I’m led into her playground lair at last;
what wonders would this secret solace bring?
She needed me to push her on the swing.

The Crows

THE CROWS

Neath wintry sky the skeletal trees now flex in fretful measure
Above and ‘tween black crows convene collected agitation
Their factious calls speak of an anxious dark corvine displeasure
What do they know? what portent caused unquiet perturbation
Have they arcane cognisance hid within their cunning minds
That tells of things that only trees and they have yet defined

On such a day would deeds of fateful moment come to pass?
While given prescience as inferred in ancient divination
Or should such signs be granted no more credence than dice cast
Accorded scorn as merited by current news narration
Yet who’s to say - life has no ken beyond what we suppose
We see the past in trees, could we learn future from the crows?

Wisdom

WISDOM

When I was young my folly knew no bounds.
It has been said the border has extended.
Still, I confess my ignorance compounds
Delusion: thus I plead has been amended
On premise of cognisance of my flaws
May I claim a touch of WISDOM as knowing cause

In that we are all a vassal to age
no sceptre or mitre can set us free,
and no fealty can old time assuage
  or rail against its synchronicity.
For ever decreasing circles besot
the cognisance of what and who we are,
yet I am not fogged to what time begot
but wise to your end and your exemplar -
of all our earthly labours and pleasure,
and all that was ventured and lost or won
for insofar love is the true measure
I shall be its keeper when you are gone.
Alas, no mortal thing this world outlast
yet still the risen sun your shadow cast.

Full Stop

I allowed you to tread on me unflinchingly.
My mind on pause,
ungrieved you turn back the clock.
Enough to stun the century,
I take cognisance of divine’s club foot.

I did not believe in self-pity
but I was racing against time
to avoid a jealous path running with me.
Yet I was sleeping on bushes of estranged thorns
without locking my golden age.

Tulips are no more my favourites.
You have to dig deep to plant the bulbs
and wait. When death opens the door for me,
I wanted to be free from any commitment
and ready to walk in, like a foot soldier.

This cosmos is mine, body is for you.
It no more obeys my command.
No more commas are needed,
a final full stop will do.
I am returning back to my home.

About To Move

About to move and break through
not knowing who’s there on the other side

Only going through myself, without others
purposed to be open to almost anyone
eengaged in my structure and with my posture
notwithstanding my character and charge

Delinquent about safety and security
obviously contriving to give all my wares
oriented towards this change of direction
recognising another level of cognisance and life

First things first, as we age, bliss bubbles burst
With flow of life flirt, free of desires erst
Essence of presence, vibrant innocence
Carefree dance, waits not for a second chance
On our heart hangs a warning: joy alert

Ego urge reversed, no fears to avert
To divine love and light, our soul reverts
Cognisance of inner luminescence
First things first

Be it need or greed, we retain one thirst
May bliss magnetism continue to spurt
Nestled in silence, tuned to loves cadence
Divine entwined parlance, our indulgence
Agendaless joy, with each breath assert
First things first

Taking Cognisance

Only by accident you
will find life in
the dead elephant.

We start soul-searching
to uncover,
the hidden path to-
landlocked sea of poachers
of ivory truth.

Infant cries, sleeping
in grass, wait for the
blossoms of spring.
Like a panther
a red cloud descends
to kill the moving, play
without pain.

The nightfall,
when you will discover
yourself in grief
and wait for the sun.

Bilocation

Lapses in mindscape lane don't
denote being fantastical,
subconscious realm portrayed
by vivid thoughts as Déjà vu.
The body lingers and ages but
the Psyche, new as dew.

Countless times,
a reminder of certainty
that I was seen somewhere
when in reality,
staring inquisitively
into my TV.
Then I pondered, did
I unknowingly fall into a trance,
Or did time travel come knocking
unexpectedly?
and even if it did, again,
the lapses don't come to light.

Dreams are pathways to
meditation, that birth
happenings unknown
to this world. But the body
is a shield to absolute
exploration of cognisance.
My imaginary circus yawns
for transportation and
these scenarios distinctively
and simultaneously
visualize without limitations.

Not a pause for impossibility,
we see levitation happen as a tornado,
I can only imagine a gust of parading
doppelganger, I'm just not the witch elevating.
But my illusioned awareness puts me in diverse places through manifestation and imagery conception.
