CHARLIE'S CARTOON CHARACTERS

Once upon a time, long, long ago, in a far away land, in the land where Charlie lived, there was a group of cartoon characters who felt as though they were the greatest thing to come along since sliced bread was put on...

Footsteps.

She sits there all alone at home and turns down her TV.
To listen to his footsteps walking through her memory.

She hears him as he climbs the steps that lead up to his room.
It's fifty some years later, still the child of her womb.

She can almost...

'Tis well-known that any pasta concoction will always me appease,
But I reckon my all-time favorite is plain old macaroni and cheese!
Ah! That simple but hardy fare sets my old taste buds a-twitchin',
When my spouse announces, "Honey, supper's ready!" from the kitchen!

As far as I know...

Premium Member Antique Store
I took my periodic stroll through the local antique store today.
I stumbled over things and stepped 'round clutter to make my way.
I looked for clocks, found none, but saw many things I could do without,
And those are the things that I propose to tell you...

The Dumbwaiter
Through pristine glass observed
autumnal leaves a scatter
the litter of the season
to dishevel and clutter up the garden

Sweep the crumbs away
lay polish to the smudged and smear
for glinting tiles speak ever more clear
to build the walls security

Settle leaf it’s time is spent
amid the moss is it’s...

Thirty-One
Thirty-one packs of chewing gum,
Clutter up my drawer,
And thirty-one times thereafter,
I forgot thirty-one times more,
And bought thirty-one times yet again
Seems somehow I found
Thirty-one more times,
I had thirty-one more such a yen...

This went on for thirty-one more months,
Till thirty-one drawers were jammed
Tried to open them...

Perfect Art
gently
before me

on a desk, or a table
rests the means to enable
me to craft a new fable
to run and leap like the sable
a squirrel scampering upon a gable

to perch on high

level with the treetops
even with the dew drops
before they appear on leaves and grass
and as the...

Grin and Cure It
Feeling sad?
Well that's too bad,
But why mope around in a dark blue funk?
Don’t let life’s trouble
Burst your bubble.
Why waste your time on all that junk?
            ...

Take Away My Pain
I awoke this morning, to a bed so cold and lonely
And despite the warning, I'd lost my one and only
All that now remains, is the shadow of what was
I’m left here in chains, with nothing but my flaws
The shadows lengthen, and grow dark by the...

A home we hear is just a place for us to hang our hat,
But I would like to show you a home is so much more that that.
A home is for your newborn who enter this world alone,
And where else would you take them if...

Premium Member An Ode To Truth
Autumn approaches, as I grow long in tooth;
Seeking throughout my life, the existence of truth.
Answers elude me;
Questions ever more abound;
The absoluteness of right and wrong
never have I found.
Is there meaning in life?
Or should we just live it as it comes?
The answers are different, it seems,...

2morrows Tree Slam
Look carefully at this tree

As yesterday what was dead and burnt

Will tomorrow birth a sunflower

And shower charred bark with colour

Oh Mother how i hate the storm clouds

They keep the rainbows at bay

And always over stay there welcome

Oh Mother

I wish i was a tree

Rather...
