venomed arctic gales
plunder trees on sun starved days

The Clench
Rage rumbles in the cavity
Of my chest
I crave anything but solution
I am too burnt for tears
They tell me I can choose the way I feel 
They tell me like they know

But they can't feel
The clench
At 4 AM
The wide-eyed bitter
Of a low goodbye
And a never-ending inhale

The clench of the hand
when greed holds a man:
tightly.
Once not in command,
aligned with God’s plan:
lightly.

The battle of will
to hold tighter still:
nightly.
The feel of the thrill
just learning to chill:
sprightly.
