Striving for Political Correctness

Striving for Political Correctness

By Elton Camp

It would just be the end
If by words we do offend.
There’s the devil to be paid
If we call a spade a spade.

“Vertically challenged” means short.
“Horizontally challenged,” a fat sort.
“Nondiscretionary fragrance” means we stink.
“Living impaired” means your’re dead I think.

“Cerebrally challenged” and you are plain dumb.
“Hispanic” and it is Mexico that you come from.
“Niceness deprived” tells that you are mean.
As “oppressor-to-be” a young boy can be seen.

“Follicularly challenged” guys really are bald.
“Gay” is what males who hump men are called.
The “residentially flexible” will live out on the street.
“Nontraditional success” and a poor man you meet.

“Economically maximized” describes one rich.
“Economically marginalized” do live in a ditch.
“Visually challenged” is the blind guy you see.
“Reality challenged” people are crazy as can be.

“Locationally challenged” folks are those lost.
“Unjust self-esteem reduction” criticism’s cost.
A “maintenance portal” is the name for a manhole.
While “sexually dysfunctional” is a perverted soul.

The garbage collector is a “sanitation engineer.”
“Petroleum transfer specialist” pumps gas I fear.
The “termination specialist” other people does kill.
“Body entrepreneur” describes a prostitute if you will.

“Factually unencumbered” are the ignorant folk.
“Alternative answer” means an error was spoke.
If lazy, then we aren’t “motivationally disposed.”
“Discretionary fragrance” and perfume is nosed.

The “chronologically gifted” are just old.
“Rustically inclined” is redneck I’m told.
“Vertically gifted” people describes those who are tall.
“Client of the correctional system” a prisoner we call.

“Cerebrally gifted” people are those who are smart.
Be “metabolically challenged,” and dead thou art.
“Nonwaged” and it is a job you do lack.
“Amorally gifted” and a crook you track.

“Knowledge conveyor” speaks of the teacher.
“Personality repressor” describes the preacher.
With a “conceptual conflict” you are not sure.
The “under-alert” just some sleep will cure.

Now we are expected to play the “correctness” game.
Which means we call almost nothing by its true name.
In keeping with that, you see,
This poem is correct as can be.

As Raindrops Fall

Walk with me my Love
Beneath the summer sun
And talk with me my Love
Until the evening's done.

Stay with me my Love
Though all my youth be fled
Stay with me my Love
Please come and share my bed.

With you alone I chose to spend my life
     Through all its many years.
'Tis you alone I'd have for wife
To share its joys and tears.

Let's call a spade a spade
All cards upon the table.
Live by the rules we made
The best that we are able.

     Tomorrow's sun may bring Anything
      Or perhaps nothing at all.
Listen close enough and angels sing
      As summer raindrops fall.

Laugh with me my Love
Stars shining on your face.
Dance with me my Love
Within the night's embrace.

A raven sits in yon withered tree
Shall we stop to hear him croak?
What of him to you or me
     Tomorrow is yet smoke.

Dream with me my Love
In the fading morning's dark.
Scheme with me my Love
In time we'll make our mark.

The bells within the chapel ring
Read words writ on a wall.
         Snowgeese gather on the wing
         As the winter raindrops fall.

Play with me my Love
Singing in the rain.
Smile with me my Love
Begone all present pain.

Live with me my Love
Until we both grow old.
Sleep with me my Love
My shelter from the cold.

I'm all right now what I might be
With your love in my defense.
     We face a thousand mysteries
     This life makes little sense.

We face what ere the future brings
As we heed the Siren's call.
Touch the clouds and angels sing
      As summer raindrops fall.

Home Rule

Until science can decipher our past
almost blind to reality in home truths
they are no more knowledgeable than the rest of us
as each of us walks a different path of knowledge

I find truth in the words of God
more powerful and with great conviction of meaning
than anything science has to offer
Call a spade a spade
proven wrong time and time again
results speak for themselves
we are all seeds of his olive branch
inner peace filled with faith and love
is the only science without appetite for destruction

“Vertically challenged” means short.
“Horizontally challenged,” a fat sort.

“Parasitically oppressed” it is styled
When a woman expects to have a child.

“Ethically disoriented” is a way to say you’re a crook.
“Quadriped nonhuman associate,” for a cat you look.

“Cerebrally challenged” and you are plain dumb.

A Spade Ain't A Spade

I'm truthful, whenever there's trouble.

So to call a spade, a spade, is just rubble!

Therefore, what I'm about to tell you,

        is honest and true

 I don't call it a spade - it's a shovel!

PROCRASTINATION IS A DISEASE

Call a spade a spade
Leave to cut to blade
So to have a better shape

Ears should hear
Take action and beware

Procrastination's a
disease
Grab your copy before that only compatible one gets sold
Regret comes when beauty gets old
Life gets aged
As minutes fade

Life's beautiful
Only when it's meaningful
with riches so bountiful

To enjoy man's enemy....
You just have to call a
spade a spade
And leave a waste to
waste

Pan

It seems we all love a good slam
So this is spurious
For the clicking Bi-Curious
Slam Furious
Everything and Everyone
Is annoying
To Wrestlers
Body Slam
God Damn
Here comes the sting
The world is your ring
Slam what you hate suffering
Call a spade a spade
Rage against the wall
Be the ball
Make the call

Friendship

Friendship

Id like to tell a tale all about me mates, The ones who restore my sanity. . . Removes all enemies from my gates.
The friends who remain with me, The ones who’s strength i steal, The ones who have my life trust, The ones who never squeal.

It’s not difficult, these words for me are clear, Your mates are the ones that pick you up or share there final beer.
Your pal is the one who supports you, In anything you do, There is no cost there’s no amount. . . Camaraderie never blue.

Laughter, Banter, Fun,. . . It will always spin you round, A mate pulls you from the ceiling, Sews your feet back to the ground.
Will tell you “How it is” Always call a spade a spade. . . Sometimes get you locked up. . . Sometimes get you paid.

Acceptance, Understanding, Trust. . . With your mate’s that's common place, Always got your back, Never a second face.
Will stand on your shoulder, Make you feel twice the man. . . Never a cant do attitude, Always yes. . . we can.

Love of family is automatic and very strong, But to love a would be stranger, the road is perilous and long. But as my years pass, As my reflection starts to wither, I've realized my friends. . . Love in abundance you deliver.

To imagine a life without them fills my soul with darkened dread, May as well try to stop a train. . . Or curdle poison in my bread.
As there the ones who have made me, The ones who make me strong. . . Each one has a life lesson, Each one has their song.

To all my “Brothers” and all their sisters too, If you have found yourselves reading this, then the words are meant for you.
Thank you to you all, Thank you for all the things you do,
But most of all my beloved friend. . . Thanks, just for being you.

Get Rid of the Nine Tenths

Somethings are listed as a bargain
they make it sound so fine
"You can buy this for under thirty bucks"!
Whats the price? $29.99.

Wow, that's a whole penny
there's no way you can lose.
with the money you'll be saving
how could you refuse?

The current price of Gasoline
is $2.68 and nine-tenths
why not make it $2.69
wouldn't that make more sense?

The extra one-tenth of a cent
I'm sure glad I don't have to pay
it would be such a financial burden
more than I can say.

I'ld probably need a second job
which wouldn't be too great
they could relieve a lot of pressure
if the price was just $2.68.

I don't want to seem facetious
lets call a spade-a-spade
lets make the penny obsolete
then we'ld have it made.

There would be no more prices
that end in 99
they'ld likely go to the nearest buck
which is what I had in mind.

But none of that will happen
that I know for sure
that 99 is here to stay
we'll just continue to endure!

A Great Bedtime Elixir

A giant glass of warmed up milk A great bedtime elixir Don't know bout you, all my P-Soup friends Prefer pie as a bedtime fixer Now I know I'm being extremely naughty But just turned seventy-eight Who gives a poop if I'm a contrary old geezer It's my right I've accepted my fate Always been known as a sweet old duffer Time to call a spade a spade Thought you knew me, sure fooled all youse guys The crankiest *****sapien made My most intimate friends know not to cross me To feel my wrath would be deadly They stay clear of any controversial subjects So they don't make the boat unsteady At one time in my life it was important to me To be loved and to have lotsa friends Not any more just couldn't give two hoots Seventy-eight and nearing the end Who knows how much time we all have left No guarantees we'll even see tomorrow So from this day forward gonna make my own rules From now on gonna rest on my laurels LOL © Jack Ellison 2013

My Catch Phrase

I knew what I was getting into
when Deb gave me my catch phrase.
It was the last one available
and seemed likely to net prose praise.

I mean why enter a contest
if no points are likely to be made.
“Nothing ventured, nothing gained”,
“hang out the wash”, “call a spade a spade”.

When I was young I loved to box.
But that has a different kind of law,
than street fighting at its very best
which tends to give one”verbal lock jaw”.

So, to practice keeping my cool
some sayings I like bringing to mind.
“Better to walk away in humility
than be carried away totally blind”.

Everyone’s goal, “the whole nine yards”
could refer to all from “Yin to Yang”.
Beware the snare of going too near
the “slippery slope of sloppy slang”.

One day if things get out of hand.
If from conversation it escalates.
Resort to a somewhat lighter tone
to “minimize threat to your face”.

“You and whose army” retorted,
early on in the dialog swapped,
“giving strategic information”
may keep you from getting popped.

My catch phrase is “You and whose army”.

my balls and my words at play

Thoughts are electric that's 4 times gravity... talk about defying the laws!
How mad is we, right now!? Bet ya not as mad as me, i bet i seem mad as! crazy right!!..
Now.
How can i continue without being absurd? All i can give you is my word.
I'll keep it simple, i ain't looking for a single or a signing bonus.
To minapulate the masses can't ya see they own us.
I got my cahonas, i stand alone.
less afraid. Don't have a home and if i worked it'd be underpaid..
Call a spade a spade, it is what it is. I'll underlay and roll out the carpet.
Soften the blow when its come to the market.
I'm talkin stock if ya connect the dots, i'll show ya the elephant who never forgot.
Its all about capital, ya believe its capital! how much do ya know, about ya own little capital?
Its only the financial epicenter. Rome controls the religous sector and washington is the state acting protector.
Policing the world, killing boys and girls. Innocent i might add, wanna hurl?
Makes me sick, i ain't american..
I ain't that thick! That's stereotyping and not very slick.
I ain't that ignorant prick. So get over yaself and over it?
We hypnotised by the media, witnessed the lies and hysteria.
Thinking me inferior but i strike the fear in yer.
Remind ya of things you were made to forget.
Ya blind when they sings sounds shady and yet.
Who am i? I'm runnin outta breath

don't tell a lie that's true

Whenever you go.
Million of miles away from home.
Do not say yes when you mean to say no.

Friends may fly away
And foes may come to stay
Do not say yes when you mean to say no.

Rods may frown as the blade
And tears become your maid
Always call a spade a spade.

You may lack the golden gains
And offered a pleasure of pains
Do not board the lair’s train

Shadows may frown at you
And grey turns the sky at noon.
Do not tell a lie that seems true

Deceived

You can call a spade a spade

A darkened portal light in its timeless space;
Twice dead novice notion in his head...

The ascension out from chains filled with blood,
In sought after excursion magnified truth;
Hence the opened door as filtered through an illusion vamp
Branded chains unleashed with stagnant revelation,

Deceived...

Choices made in vile repute type greed;

Although a red rose was plucked a time ago,
In silent dellusion in thought filled its ego
Colorful decorated flowers absorbed in sweet fragrance in mercy
Within its pillage of sought after reflection still torn;

~

There is still no real substitute for the real you...

Many are still blind from this notion in thought;
The prince of the power of the air will soon fall!
Having an air of Godliness but denying its power,
We each can react to what is profitable or costly;

The given elements have been exposed by a given choice through exploits...

To negate with power will bring one to a tragic loss,
Deceived...
There will be one to soon rise forth;
A sense of burning flesh flowing in the wind;

The torn chasm of spilled blood out weighs the pen,

With fasks of flowing wine...
Rivers run through a great devide
Deceived
Still many go out to & fro...

People were made as an after thought to show,
Just so they can go serve other god's
The one's who can't talk & hearts fold asunder
Turning cases in its plunder

Deceived

A warning or timely adice for those down under!

Love's Fatality

Love’s Fatality

Love is a fickle partner

One moment it is deep like the color of a red rose
The next it is melancholy like a faded yellow lily

For the slightest interpretation of the mind
Can render it to be trivial almost useless

Inevitably time will find fissures in the walls of life
These become cracks that cannot be mended

Good intentions are mere bandages to a wound
That will not close

Slowly but surely like the wilting of a flower
The inevitable occurs

Best to remove any ill will afore it spreads
Like a cancer run amok

To call a spade a spade
Before the pain becomes too great

Love lost is better than none found
This is the plague that follows us all

Call a spade a spade

Call a spade a spade

Take no chance
Of intimidation

Except your right
dont mean nothing
To you

So when you are been
Moved around like
A sheep
Stand up for your
Self and
Call a spade a spade

Call A Spade A Spade

Straight from the heart,
Speak truly and frankly;
However coarse it may be,
Say it right with sincerity.

A rose by any other name
Still, has sweet fragrance;
But it spells a big difference
Between tango and disco dance.

Look me in the eyes,
Talk about gold and silver;
They shall eventually fade,
But diamonds are forever.

Saying I love you to someone
Requires a solid conviction;
Though it may sound sweet,
It may also end up in destruction.

In the name of greatest love,
There's no room for lies made;
The truth will set us all free,
Let's call a spade a spade.

The Card

"But ask one more, I want to do
If all things truly could be true
Everything and in between
Then what would true truth really mean?

To balance out this little bard
I ask you please to pick a card
I wish I could call a heart a heart
And still be true to Suz'n.Art

I wish you could call a spade a spade
Then together our club would be unafraid
To lighten the world with diamond words
Rebuilding the One from quarters and thirds."
~A

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

To take a Heart, who is afraid,
To balance it right side on a spade,
Then taking hold the handle you see…
A heart and spade can turn 2.3.

A turn, a yearn, a learn and then,
Facing on.ward, is the sun again….
A glowing light in the center part,
Where the two hearts joined
And became a Start.

A friendship.card called,
SuzNArt
