I am Jack and I live on a farm,
was born in the barn one of many;
oh, I am the only cat with charm,
but my best friend is the horse- Penny.

Was born in the barn . . . one of many,
oh, I like all of the farm creatures;
but my best friend is- the horse Penny,
like all here no matter their features.

Oh, I like all of the farm . . . creatures,
there is a bully of a rooster;
like all here . . . no matter their features,
even like big bird we call Brewster.

There is a BULLY of a rooster,
oh, I am the only cat-   with charm;
even like . . . big bird we call Brewster,
I am Jack and I live- on a farm.

Premium Member My Venerable Dad - Memory Snippet On Fathers Day

Lucky day! Father McShane was on the altar.
I knelt in gratitude, in silent applause.

He said mass faster than the lead car in a drag race.
Hosts flew and before we knew it: “Ite, missa est.” *

The nine a.m. ritual was well worth it on Sundays with daddy.
Out of the mist of sneezy incense, enclosed in glass tabernacles

food for the soul of another kind awaited us at the Brewster bakery.
Father and daughter a spiritual team of confectionary communicants,

were in search of the one true doughnut, the absolute muffin.
My father kept us ever faithful.

*Go, the Mass is ended

Voice of Octave Love

I was sixteen when I fell in love
with her soaring skyward voice
Smitten by the sight of
melting ice cream dripping down her hand,
the hand that held the cone
As she smiled, wearing her denim overalls
Had a perfectly shaped Afro,
this beautiful sonorous soul
Minnie Riperton ...
she had the voice of an angel
She had rare God-given ability;
she could raise her voice one octave at a time,
higher and higher ... so sublime
Stepping up the musical ladder to the stars
she would climb
Vocalese ... soul satisfying release
Birds of paradise flocked to hear her voice;
as lovers swooned in the sultry moonlight
on summer nights,
serenaded by her sensuous invite
Listening to the voice of octave love
Minnie Riperton ...
we all were Lovin' You
as her beautiful voice took us
to the Edge of a Dream
But she departed years ago,
so we sit Alone in Brewster Bay
treasuring the Simple Things
Hearing her breathtaking voice
sparks in me the inner flame,
as her songs take me down Memory Lane
Over forty years later,
I emerged out of my personal wilderness ...
guided on many a nights
by the heavenly stars up above,
and by the voice of her pure octave love

Cock-A-Doodle-Do

“Cock-a-Doodle-Do”
     By Dane Smith-Johnsen

There once was a very fine rooster.
He would strut with his wings spread out wide.
The hens in his pen called him “Brewster”.
They liked to flap around at his side.

“Cock-a-Doodle-Do!!! The day's light grew.”
Quickly off to lay eggs ran the gals.
He flew to his perch; boasted anew.
Protecting hens meant no time for pals.

One day he sat proudly on his roost,
Curious, “Grandson” came; he was three.
Brewster stretched out his neck, his craw loose.
“Cock-a-Doodle-Do!!! Listen to me!”

“Grandson” loved to watch and feed the chickens.
Brewster crowed; the boy ran to the pen.
Neck stretched. Beak aiming. “Brew-roo” peckins’-
Little man. Boo-booed hand. Kiss would mend.

Brewster's life would never be the same.
Feelings hurt. “Grandson” sobbed for a while.
Grandma soothed at boy's side, rooster blamed.
“Cock-a-Doodle-Do!!!” Sung in exile.

All the hens in the pen played and lay.
While inside, “Grandson” stayed well as new.
Quietly heard in the distance, “Hey!”
“Cock-a-Doodle-Do!!! Boo-hoot, I’m stew!!!”

Beware of Chucky Duck

Lake Eliza 2...
Out near dusty Lake Eliza
Lived sweety tart, where flies are
Sucked oddly Emu eggs some sunny days
Like a dozen egg appetiser (1 egg = 1 dozen fowl egg)
She got em off the miser
Rotten eggs old Emu walked away (in disgust)

Of course she had a rooster
Who had a name like Zac the Brewster
Who was always a riding the duck
So she shot him with a trap gun…(3/4” water pipe)
12 gauge lead did flatten one
Rooster on toast laughed ol Chuck

A Sand goanna lame
wanted eggs just the same
So he crawled into the chook house for a feed (fowl abode)
Duck Chuck saw him there
spat n shat n tore his hair
rode the old Goanna yes indeed

So we leave ol Lake Eliza
without being any wiser
just beware of Ducky Chuck
and the ol tart that lingers
and the rancid smelly dingus
just rotten emu eggs you’re out of luck Don Johnson

For Uncle Kenny: July, 1952- December, 2009

How do I say goodbye?
I'm nowhere near ready to let go
How do I come to terms
With the loss of one that I've loved so?

Never did it come to mind
That you'd have to leave so soon
I thought I'd have another chance
To sing old Baez tunes

You weren't supposed to leave just yet
With so many songs unsung
I've cherished memories of you
From the days when I was young

So many times you took me
To the latest movie show
And gladly let me tag along
Wherever you would go

You helped me to believe in me
When others seemed to doubt
And encouraged me to use my mind
For figuring things out

You told me truths about myself,
Urged me stretch and grow
You made all the difference
Oh, Lord, I hope you know

You saw me with such loving eyes;
Never once made me feel less
I hope you recall the times I've said
That my life you have blessed

But Uncle, I can rejoice today
In knowing you are free
And that your crown will hold a jewel
You've earned by loving me

In loving memory of Kenneth Charles Brewster.

I will cherish you always, Uncle Kenny!

Your favorite niece (wink).....

Spring Chicken

 limerick

There was a spring chicken named Brewster.
He was the school’s number one booster,
      but this spring he forward-sprang
      from the girls’ room overhang.
Now he’s called - the naughty old rooster.

Surrender

Surrender all to the son
Unity three in one
Revel in his love
Redeemention from sin
Entrust our life in him
Nurtures us as we grow
Deliverance from our foe
Erase our past
Rejoice in his love that will last

1 Corinthians 6:20 ESV

For you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

Psalm 13:5 ESV

But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.

Mark 4:11-12

And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables, so that “they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand, lest they should turn and be forgiven.”

Romans 8:28-29

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. Amen

one of my favourite songs is I surrender all by Lincoln Brewster
and take my life and let it be consecrated Lord to thee by Chris Tomiln.

Premium Member Daughter

I called to a Dove from above,
Asking God to send down his love.

I know not how to express what I feel,
I just want my baby to heal.

When you were born I took your hand,
It grasped mine and I became your fan.

You sat in my lap and we watch Punky Brewster
And even a dumb dog getting beat up by a Rooster.

There was fun and laughter through the years,
And sometimes there were tears.

I remember the story about the three fishes,
I still hurt because you did not get your wishes.

If I could take your troubles away,
I would do it this very day.

Just remember when you are blue,
I am your Dad and I love you.

Alova

Alova ...
she’s the leaven princess
of oven bosom tear oppression

Her violet Persian neutering rug
has the sterile stench of
cougar mating feral aggression

It’s her purple passion
to Farsi emasculate with femme fatale hate
She’s a hardcase lover in a hardcore way

Alova is the Iron Mistress of Mellat Park,
a long dungeon drop from Brewster Bay

Alova she loves
scratching post, bent-knee coin proposals
Put her claws into the prenuptial loopholes,
and her lethal legal clause
always grab hold
of the moneyed beau mice —
Never letting go

At least, not until the cash settled divorce
is divided asset final: Platinum blonde mink coat credit portfolio
Golden parachute, silver safety net ~ Diamond and pearls ruby eject

Alova
Alova
Alova

is the self-flagellated chant of the Shushun purse palace sad
Alova is at her panther pouncing best at being sensuously bad

Alova ...
she’s the lynx queen of a cuckold, cheetah harem
The docile male lying pride
do as their told, with no nay say

Alova loves estrogen marking her eye bow territory
with an icy pleasure pheromone cold spray:

{Alova’s leather-tip tongue
make the powerful egos fetal prone beg

Ode To Willy

Ode to Willy

Of seven children I have one
Whose brand new sport is chickens.
She raises them like children
She even makes them listen.
A mother hen herself
She has a coop and light
In hopes these hens will lay
She leaves it on all night.
She’s named them all, and sings to them
And they all start to sway
The hens all plucked the rooster
So he would stay away.
With all his feathers bare
No meds could save this brewster
The only choice to shoot him
This helpless naked rooster.
And with the rifle shot him
He stood there nice and calm
He didn’t move a muscle
He watched and looked forlorn.
They missed him twice
And could not believe
The rooster still
Stood on his feet.
By now they’re getting silly
Did not want to kill him really
Took one more shot
And knocked him out
And that was the end of Willy.

Beauty, To Teresa Brewster

Beauty...to Teresa Brewster

I see you in the rising sun
In the glamour of it's setting
You wander with the lonely butterfly
sucking nectar from the open flowers in my heart's garden

I hear your voice
In the sunbird's song
In the highlife tunes
My heart sings

I smell your presence
In my favorites food's aroma
In the sweet scented herbs
In the first mass incense

Anything beautiful
Anything appealing
Anything pleasant
Rings out your name

“Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam …” —Dr Brewster M Higley VI

Oh, give me a home ...
where the big bison bellow,
bellowing in beautiful
bucolic backgrounds,
backgrounds begging
backpackers beware,
beware of being beset by
big bison bellowing!

Beset by a bison?
Bison basics best behavior—
Better to back up bovine-like
than be busted up by a bison

Better believe it!

Punky Brewster Tattoo

She was such a Soleil sight surprise,
sunburst bubbly ...
tulip breath of fresh air
After the first “hi,”
more of her
I was beach boy daydream thirsting for

With an Orphan Annie
cavalier disdain for the ocean blues,
her Punky Brewster attitude
was a magnetic, attractive allure —
A force of personality gravity
that had everybody beach diving in,
following
with reckless abandon

That ruby lip girl
was just so ivory cute unleavened cool,
I tell you the honest-to-dove truth

Cutting thru the crowd
of her sand castle entourage
was an eye Atlas task,
which I was skinny-hearted brave
challenge willing to do

I had another’s tattoo on my heart
laser quick removed

That moon-eyed girl
took a tidal wave interest in me,
much to my Soleil surprise —

A beautiful Punky Brewster tattoo
got light beam carved into my mahogany heart,
deep on the inside
