Beg Steal Or Borrow...Live For Tomorrow

                                Metallic gray skies...the fledgling dies

                                Winter grieves...tainted leaves

                                Severed hand...barren land

                                Empty farm...sound alarm

                                Rotting hay...horses astray

                                Fractured horn...plough forlorn

                                Dried up stream...forsaken dream

Beg steal or borrow...live for tomorrow

BORROW MY FINGERS’ VOICE
                                                          . . . . .` ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ . . . . .

could you, Monet...borrow my fingers’ voice
as my desire runs through your pastel bones?
and in your artist’s blood i mix...by choice
the oiled smudge of me in these dusking tones
through joys and moans, is there time to rejoice,
to sketch love’s hand, though inks plummet as stones?
on canvas, a trace of me will remain
i am the sky, the elements, the crane

Trump's Golden Rule

A man who cares about tomorrow
Is certain the day will bring sorrow
So Trump's Golden Rule
Is, "Find any fool
And live well on all you can borrow!"

Can I Borrow,
Do You Have,
Can You Spare?
Written: by Tom Wright
6-6-2016

I’m tired of others looking at me as their bank,
When I’m just a small fish in one big ole fish tank;

They never take advice, just stuff, mostly money,
Casting gloom on my day, and making theirs sunny;

They always say borrow but it’s never returned,
And each time it happens, once more, I feel burned.

If you borrow some tool, please don’t make me ask,
Just bring the sucker home, if you’ve finished your task.

Most abusers are close and I feel given little choice,
Today, I’m battling myself, and that small inner voice.

I know those guilty will never read this, but then,
I’ve vented frustrations and feel better again.

Bed, Borrow and Steel

What heart have I to show to you?--
[This feckless Autumn night]
I failed to sing a song that's new:
My heart was always trite

I don't know what I'm doing here
Or, why I dream of lust
My mind has been a Home for Fear
Its gears are plagued with rust

When once I failed to feel at all
I drank until I slept
In sullen haze, I still recall:
The way the sirens wept

Since when had I succumbed to Love--
To forge a solemn pledge?
When Push Became A Violent Shove:
They threw me off the edge

Awakened in a cage of steel
I had to then, recall:
I trained myself to never feel
I never did at all...

Can I Borrow Your Wings So I Can Fly

The weight of the world is on me and I want to hide
Hover in love and feel peace when I glide
I’m so low I cant even see the bottom floor
I need your help to get out so I can soar

Can I borrow your wings so I can fly
Rise like a bird up towards the sky
Leave the world behind that’s full of tears
Let me feel the power so I can beat by fears
I promise to return them to you the next day
But if my pain returns I’ll need them again to be ok

Let me rise above the clouds so I can leave the hate
Please help me to climb before it’s to late
I won’t look back on the sorrow that’s always there
I’ll enjoy the peaceful view it simply doesn’t compare

Can I borrow your wings so I can fly
Rise like a bird up towards the sky
Leave the world behind that’s full of tears
Let me feel the power so I can beat by fears
I promise to return them to you the next day
But if my pain returns I’ll need them again to be ok

If you need me I can dive down and carry you away
So you can leave your misery behind for another day
Forget your troubles be free and have some fun
Dry your eyes and heal your soul with the rays of the sun

Can I borrow your wings so I can fly
Rise like a bird up towards the sky
Leave the world behind that’s full of tears
Let me feel the power so I can beat by fears
I promise to return them to you the next day
But if my pain returns I’ll need them again to be ok

Beg, Steal, Or Borrow

Beg, Steal, or Borrow

What if rain nears?
Would Heaven’s tears sting less
The tender fears of parting,
Or burn, unending, until death re-unites?
I would borrow, beg, and steal
For the spark your eyes reveal.
In my darkness, there is light.

What if snow blinds?
Would biting north-winds surcease
My sorrow, or, ghost-like, enshrine my spirit
Caught up in fever’s chill?
Still, on I haunt Earth’s frozen lands
For the warmth held in your hands.
In your absence, I find will.

What if stars stray?
Would a single ray, o’er galaxies of stone,
Thy gentleness and grace illuminate,
Or cast dark shadows where your essence grew?
I would steal, beg, and borrow
For a taste of your tomorrow.
In our dreams, we love anew.

Never count money not held in your hand,
and never stand good for the debts of a friend;
For some never learn though they grow old and feeble.
It pays to use caution when dealing with people.

To Borrow, Means To Return
Miracle man
6-4-2022

I often lose tools through friends who hijack,
so if you borrow my tools please bring them back.

Missing tools can create a hardship when tasking,
and causes me, the embarrassment of asking.

Some must think age is a synonym for fool,
people I hire,(often innocently) take a tool.

A wrench or ratchet that remained in their clutch,
they don’t see a friend, but just soft touch.

I believe a person reaps from seeds they’ve sown,
my simple solution would be to buy their own.

Then they’d ask to borrow the money for that,
They never show up just for a friendly chat.

Premium Member Can I Borrow Your Bong

Muggle catching monster with your four eyes strong
To follow you from place to place might be simply wrong
Your fuzzy furry hairy head needs trimmed, it is way too long
Your incisors have the length of a skinny king kong
Some people have said you look like a total ding dong.
I like you forever though; can I borrow your bong?

Premium Member Beneath the Lamplights We'D Borrow

In the dusting of the Springtime
when Winter's breath would fall away
the buds of Spring's birthing would climb
memories of yesterday stay
when guitars played along the lane
and filled our hearts with soft romance
as lovers, we enjoyed the rain
and felt warm raindrops with our dance
giving no thought to tomorrow
as we moved in the night of Spring
beneath the lamplights, we'd borrow
as the songs in our hearts would sing
timeless moments of love at play
sweet-scented thoughts of yesterday

Let Me Borrow Your Name

On Judiciously
BORROWING A MAN’S NAME

For a blink
Just wink
Let’s exchange
Rearrange---

A Man’s name
Buggers blame
finds the story
pith and gory
No harm done
all in fun
would relay
not obey
in the fray
Get away
Take it back
Or retract
any story
will adore me
in the black
take it back
just an error
bombs and terror
Just a minute
Let me win it
Bit of glory
For my story
Let’s exchange
Re arrange
Just for fun
No harm done

What a lark
Words will spark
And we’ll laugh
In the dark
With your name
All in bold
Any story
Can be told
In the dark
Light the spark
And we toast--
Maybe boast--
Of the lark

I went to my neighbors
To ask for a favor
And said may I borrow
Stuff I need tomorrow,
But she stopped me short
With this stunning retort:

“Do you need sugar cane
Drano for a clogged drain
Or perhaps some flour
Or did you lose power.”
I answered, “I just need…”
And she quickly agreed
Saying, “I have some Spam
About twenty-five cans
Cigarettes, mayonnaise
Both purebreds and strays

Magnets, plus insurance
Some ants, plants, and sweatpants
China made in China
Not North Carolina
Ten pair of tie dye shirts
Ten yards of processed dirt
Ten to the tenth power
Of mushrooms in my yurt”

Which all made my head spin
So I tried to butt in
But she instantly asked
“About what kind of mask
That you might need today
One to keep sparks at bay
Or for trick-or-treating
Or surgery hygiene

A briefcase full of Yen
Gray chickens and their pen
A toaster, and dartboard”
I thought, ‘Oh my dear lord’
She then gave me some keys
To an old Mercedes
And before I said ‘Please
Stop this nonsense Louise’
I had her brand new skis
And two wheels of blue cheese

Plus her dear husband’s will
Old tapes of Benny Hill
Plus a trailer, camper
Clean clothes in a hamper
Her live slug collection
Which I shouldn’t mention
She lent me her uncle
I tried saying ‘uncle’
But got two turtledoves
And three chinchilla gloves

She gave me an ulcer
But I couldn’t repulse her
I utterly pleaded
To ask what I needed
But she still went ahead
No matter what I said
Until I yelled ‘I’m done
Though I just wanted one
As I ran out of limes
Now I ran out of time’

She put her stuff aside
And then ran back inside
I still had a few things
Like scissors and ring dings
While the pure breds and strays
Zipped right by in a blaze
She came back and said, ‘I’m
Giving you my last lime
And since you’re out of time
I have plenty in stock.’
I then left with a clock.
