Neither Borrow Nor Lend

Whether friend or family if you want to keep the relationship on good terms don't hand out money you can't afford to lose. When people want to borrow money it's usually because they don't have any AND WHEN THEY GET MONEY THEY CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY YOU BACK OR THEY WILL BE RIGHT BACK IN THE SAME POSITION THEY WERE BEFORE.
They aren't really trying to cheat you they JUST DON'T HAVE IT. So don't give them your money unless you can afford to give it away. I make it a habit not to lend more than $20.00 because I won't suffer if I don't get that money back. My daughter had a husband I knew was no good. She and the kids went hungry so he could drink. I did not give her money but I bought her food. Now thanks be to God she has a good husband who takes his family seriously.
Never count money not held in your hand,
and never stand good for the debts of a friend;
For some never learn though they grow old and feeble.
It pays to use caution when dealing with people.
