Best Blind Person Poems

Premium Member First Christmas Eve

“The only blind person at Christmas time is he who has not Christmas in his heart.” – Helen Keller

On that long ago night,
Beyond the hills – burning bright,
Born to save us from our sin,
Bring assurance and peace within…

Jesus Christ, the joy and love
God Almighty sent from heaven above,
With grace that would surely prove…,
Choosing love, meant God’s on the move…

On that night, when He was born,
The darkest devils would surely mourn,
Because, with Him, there would be hope,
The promise of life so we might cope…

Jesus Christ, born to save souls,
His spirit come down, His grace consoles,
The gift of a love so amazing…
We just knew, we’d forever be praising….

On that long ago night,
While Mary labored with all her might,
There came One who would change creation,
With His grace and love, He brings souls elation!

Jesus is the answer for all of mankind,
When He came down, to all who were blind,
He opened our eyes, with faith – we believe…
Love came to save us on that first Christmas Eve!

Behind the Blind Mind

You said the man you talked with is blind
But he pointed out fingers to someone he's then unkind

You talked with a blind person
But he can give someone poison

You said he walks kind and tender
But cannot you accept as true he's a pretender

You give him eyeglasses and add him a walking stick
But worthy of someone who'd frequently kick

Someone who'd frequently kick your relative
Though positive we'd frequently make him contraceptive
He'd not be literate or limit him being un-educative

Beauty and the Blind

Is it beauty that stimulates our imagination and excites our heart, the colors, the
designs, the shapes,we marvel in awe at them like a baby with it's new toy
What is beauty? asked an old blind man.
Is it as beautiful as the sound of the birds and the bees or the breeze blowing
through trees.
The rain is beautiful the way it blows with the wind congratulating my body as it
touches my skin.
Beautiful is the invigorating odors and the fragrance of the flowers i smell when i
go for morning walks to pick up shells, the greeting of the morning sun always
reminds me that the day has begun.
Its very beautiful to me when i groom my horses in the barn my heart sings when
i stroke them with my hand, smooth as silk their body's fell, sounds they make
once given a meal.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder i was always told,i have never seen anything
even in my days of old.
Is beauty something that u can only see?i am asking a question will u please tell
me.
A blind person beauty is not felt by vision-i give you a few examples in some of
my expression's.
Beauty isn't always above the skin it also lies deep within.

Premium Member Night Is Coming

Night is coming
Even though it already looks and feels of night
It isn't here yet
Gray veil covers the sky
Rain plays its sad tune
But pink flowers contrast green on Japanese Magnolia

Night is coming
Color blind person would not be able to see
The green leaves that are in contrast to the pink
Nor could they see the contrast between the white and green on the Bradford Pear

Night is coming
Rain increases it rhythm, the grayness in the forest deepens
A heaviness weighs upon my body making it uncomfortable to breath
The rain washes the pollen away for right now

Night is coming
Colorblindness would be a disadvantage for a person in many ways
Some of the beauty of spring would be lost
But they would probably notice shape and design more than someone who sees color

Night is coming
When the darkness covers over me then I won't be able to see how to write
This would be a great disadvantage in accomplishing finishing this work
The yellow green or banana yellow yard light has come on it light radiates outward
In the distance a very large tree reaches upward skeletal but has few spring green
tiny leaves that contrast the gray sky.
If I were color blind I would not see that.

Street Dweller

If I was a deaf person
would you ever talk to me
Or would you just pass me by
In favor of simplicity.
If I was a blind person
Would you ever guide me through
Or would you just set me off to myself
For someone else to rescue.
If I was acrippled person
Would you ever carry me
Or would you just shun me off
Claiming to much difficulty.
                    BUT
If I was just a lonely person
Huddled up in my cardboard home
Would you ever stop by to visit
Or simply leave me alone !

Their Ways

“The blind cannot show the way to another blind person”
It's an old saying and it is not exactly so true,
Because, I saw two blind people who’re helping each other
To reach their destiny, so well.
Unfortunately, I saw a crowd of people who are not blind Enough,
But they were running into the valley with ignorance, what a hell?

Premium Member A Gift of Sight

A harried beginning to the start of the day, running behind schedule, headed to the city to deliver medical records for a law suit, in the city.

Boarding a crowded bus, I took the only available seat, next to a young woman. She asked where I would be getting off? I replied, “Legal Building”, she said, “so am I”. As the bus approached our destination, it came to an abrupt stop; unsteady from being thrust forward, she held onto me.

Working our way through the ‘standing’ passengers, awkwardly moving toward the exit, still clutching my arm, feeling anxious and impatient, I looked up at her, wanting her to release her arm; I realized she was blind. She revealed that her blindness was due to the severe impact of a serious car accident.

She asked me what the day looked like. I had not given much thought about the day, except for the responsibilities, that lie ahead. With a lump in my throat, swallowing hard, I paused, searching for the right words for her to see, with my eyes and her memory.

Clouds floating on a celestial sea,
                               headed for exotic places,
                         beyond imagination, drifting aimlessly.

Their lofty sails puffed out like pillows,
catch the wily wind that gently prods and billows,

                       slowly transforming, creating a disguise,
becoming cats, and rabbits and dragons that fly.

Stealthy and reticent, helmed at a steady pace,
the sun in the east, the wind at their back,
                               Sailing in beauty and grace.

In her sweet and gentle voice, thanked me for sharing the magical beauty of the day. It occurred to me, I never realized my gift of sight was impaired; a blind person gave back to me, what I took for granted.

As we ascended the steps, documents securely in my bag, arm and arm we entered the office together.~

The blind see clearly,
There is vision without sight,
Memories unfold

Ma

He didn't even try to hide it.
Just thought i wouldn't notice?
His wandering eyes in front of me,
a blind person could see.
But he could care less either way.
He probably slept with Emily today.
And tomorrow God knows,
how far he'll go,
or where he'll be.
At least he won't be near me.

Happiness

Happiness is a fleeting thing
At times it can feel like a memory
something that was experienced
but sadly short lived

It's like a flower coming into bloom
the dew droplets hanging off the petals
the sweet scent of a rose hanging in the air
Happiness however fleeting should be cherished
like a blind person being able to see the world for the first time.
A father witnessing the birth of his child.

One should remember when sorrow comes your way
and you feel as if everything is crumbling around you
think back to those happy moments
use it to lighten up those dark days
remember that there is someone out there
someone that has never had a happy moment to think back on
someone who is suffering through worse fate than yours
and in every dark cloud there is a silver lining.

The Only Source of Fulfillment

My life devoid of exotic adventure
(in fact...yours truly
never set foot outside the United States,
nor took to the skies, yes...how bore)
ring, the solitary endeavors,

not an onerous unbearable chore,
although (as mentioned in a previous poem)
this fellow rarely exits apartment door,
(particularly during biting cold),
fabulous grandeur tis mine to explore

thru (healthy escape)
by way of imagination fourscore
minus ten orbits completed
round the sun, and tapping
mind bending places galore

envisioning how a blind person -
nonetheless lamentable and heartsore
(more so since birth, this pupil doth ignore
versus tragedy eye will not site here),
no limitation to where this loner can soar,

which appears contradictory to previous
disclosures, yet revisiting said notion,
sans feeling tour
charred asper meaninglessness, a spore
germinated evincing clearly reassure

ring mine psyche, those select modes
engaging body, mind, and spirit for
instance exercise, reading/
writing, and meditation
with deliberation yours truly doth pour,

the entire heart and soul of
Matthew Scott Harris to shore
up sagging sullenness, yet though disheartened
at squelching interpersonal/social, mental,
and physical parabolic contour

of healthy development,
this fellow wishes he did more
class participation, dating,
fostering friendships/relationships
such ordinary human development that did war

rant raving about prior
disappointment, the decor
ration accrued, via strengthening muscles at core
of happiness from this
sojourner for truth...bonjour!

Dark Is the Horizon

A blind person who has lost his eyesight
Is not worse than him who has no vision;
To the former, the day is like a night,
To the latter, dark is the horizon.

Healing

( HEALING )

God performs miracles, he can make a blind person see.
Just believe with your heart, and he will set you free.
Wisdom is earned, a lifetime of learning.
A passion for Jesus, a fire and a yearning.

Hold your loved ones close, feel their love and their fear.
When you cant do it alone, he will appear.
Stand up for tomorrow, cause it may never come.
fight for your yesterdays, no matter the sum.

Pray for a healing, that there wont be no pain.
Remember the sunshine, when your out in the rain.
Never give up, break through the chains.
He died on the cross, with all the blood stains.

Hold their hand, and never let go.
Show them to the light, there they will grow.
Shout to the Lord, wow what a feeling.
I pray to Jesus, that he does a healing.
