Best Blackens Poems
ebony edges
twilight blackens sketched shadows~
scarlet-stained sunset
dusk dribbles dewdrops
flower petals atrophied~
evening primrose, bloom
pinwheel galaxies
swirling stars orbit black holes~
bats shadow the night
dawn pierces night's heart
scarlet wounds bleed crimson light~
a hummingbird's hum
day resurrected
scurrying shadows scatter~
colors coalesce
In
my
veins
flows the
blood that
drips from the
pain and misery of
my lost sorrow. Drip,
drip in never ending
streams of crimson,
tears flowing
from swollen
eyes. The dark
of sad lonely
nights calls
my soul.
I feel not
the pain as it
blackens my ebon
glass heart. Never
will I try again
to feel joy
as once in my
youth I had.
It is but
a sad dream,
a lost desire,
gone in the fall
of each blood
filled tear that
I cry.

There is nothing left of life
that death cannot resolve,
times velocity spins on stolen lips
and minute pieces of adamantine
pierce the edge of soles
worn with pain
----
Right here,
Where night and dawn merge
the membrane strains
cleaving, as shade blackens blue
for mere milli seconds
Standing in the hollows of night
still, watching forever shimmering
in the shadowed corner of my eye,
I, me, always a curious creature
swallow bricks and mortar
tasting truth
In my head an orchestra plays
the symphonies composed of my life
strings wring my heart with melodies
wrought in pain and self-loathing
shame and eventual surrender
to the beat
But,
in the beauty of renewal
in the peace of your reflections
I've wondered at the universe
memorizing the mysteries unsolved
ever tantalized neurons smashed
awakening ever and over again
Sleep has been a foreign land
settled by the fortunate
longed for by the tortured
spirits of my mind
Yet in these dark magnificent galaxies
when snores softly sigh in peace
or monsters haunt your dreams,
I have watched millennia of mourning
shatter the promise of darkness evermore,
I wondered as sunshine held a drop of dew
and as light of hope captured the ghosts of night
banishing them forevermore, or until nights edge
I am a watcher and a teller of tales
Singer of forbidden songs and tragedy,
downtrodden, I rose to fight again and again
with a schizophrenic mind harnessed
within the beauty of a single star
and the promise of humanity
in the kindness of a strangers touch
Now at the end of all journeys
my final battle lays in that
which I know not, shackled
that foreign land whisks me away
again and again, dreams cease
as moisture rolls from my brow
---
Slowly, slowly, slowly
winding down into nothingness
Gently, gently, gently
I will lay down your cries of grief
My words aren’t never-ending
my breath will someday cease
Yet true beauty and wonder lies
in the wondrous infinity of peace
just look into these eyes overflowing with pain
know !! there will be an end, even that shall ease ...
Chased mercilessly
over well- worn tar
palpable loss pushes
a sable brush
dunked in dread
a furious deluge
of fear
oozes out
blackens every inch
of familiar landscape
what if’s
eat through
the still static blue horizon
making a meal
of unborn dreams
slaked only by
hastily grabbed
history
coupled with
ragged spirits
that desperately
haul hope north
safe haven
on strange soil
still dark hours
away
Death shadows, furious, frenzied, fought
Waiting for this wretched soul to rot
They redeemed me, tortured me, ceasing not
Crows perch upon my severed breast
Picking at the insipid flesh
Vultures of glee coo and ratify my rest
Love pierces my heart that is dead
Maddening my severed head
Feeding ones engorged instead
Deprived and empty of soul within
My ribcage grows bare and thin
Eaten away by my own cruel kin
Skeleton bare and scorned
Fowl breasts of youth unadorned
Cascaded in grotesque glory, basked and ever-mourned
I fly! Hovering over my body too weak
As tears fall down my hungry beak
Let me fly north toward winter so bleak!
The tears freeze on my cold bones
In the dark snow that blackens, I grow old
As wind, birds and corpses forever moan
Homeward north I fly…I feed
I, the coal-beaked corpse still need
To roam…to rot…to unremittingly greed
I am shadow, vulture, corpse, woman—all in one
Feeding on my own meat, enriching everyone
Absent of my own skin, the pain has just begun
For Justin Bordner's Death Shadow contest
I can feel the slow sleep sitting
In a window made for slitting
Lullabys that have no morals
Tales of lies that seem so formal
Snow flakes falling on the glass wall
Melt before they can live at all.
Toxic waves of rude depression
Desperate days, & unjust opression
Is this pain? That burrows in my heart?
Am I just insane? Or am I falling apart?
Soft hysteria lives in my head
Sweetly whispers words for the dead
Trying to tell me it's not over
All I need is angry closure.
She just wants you when you're lonely.
You can never be her one & only.
Everytime you shed tears for her,
Her slender finger grasp just grows tighter.
Is this pain? That burrows in my heart?
Am I just insane? Or am I falling apart?
You are not enough woe her.
You can not make her forget.
You are not enough to love her.
She'll play you like a broken record again.
And Again.
Is this pain? That burrows in my heart?
Am I just insane? Or am I falling apart?
This is pain, that blackens my heart.
This is pain that takes my whole world apart.

Quote: "Lovely days don't come to you, you should walk to them." by Rumi
***********************
Life will not coach you until it happens,
Serendipitously, it flows, upsetting our souls.
When you glance, you feel no longer whole,
Leave dreams behind until the frost blackens.
Love doesn't always reach out to stay,
It often teaches you how deeply you feel.
It seems like it's just dangling a kneel,
as if it were writing you a swiping essay.
Being whole does not teach you resilience,
You discover it when you're crushed by life.
You proceed with wobbly hands and strife,
Grace is born by shaking, not just experience.
There's a Good Man just up that hilltop there.
A Good Man,
He loves all children, both the troublemaker and the perfect ones.
He loves the poor and gives them alms and shelter.
He loves the hungry and thirsty, he feeds them and gives them wine.
He loves all who mourn, and comforts them.
He loves the ill and heals them of their ailments.
He loves the peacemakers, and befriends them.
Among these things, this Good Man loves sinners, and he dines with them.
Despite these things, that Good Man is up there on that hilltop, among the thieves and the criminals.
Despite his love for all, he's treated like a murderer, flogged and beaten.
Tortured;
All for his blasphemy.
He was forced up that hilltop against his will,
But never did I see him strike any who condemned him,
Nor did I see him curse all who struck him.
As the beating sun scorned upon the crowd and the Good Man,
No longer carrying his piece of wood upon his back;
His face turns upward, to the sky.
And he calls for Elijah.
Soon, the Good Man dies.
The King of the Jews dies by Roman hands.
As the Good Man dies,
The earth trembles
The sky turns cloudy and blackens out the sun
The winds nearly blows us all on our backside.
Soon, it becomes apparent to all onlookers,
That this man was no Blaspheimer.
The Good Man was the Son of God.
And instead of bowing down to him,
We crucify him.
And so,
I tell you,
On the top of that hilltop,
Dead,
Among the sinners,
Is a Good Man.
A Man who loved all.
A man sent by Elijah and killed by us.
Jesus of Nazareth.
King of the Jews.
i life
Reflections in the mirror increase resentment.
Tarnished heart pursues vengeful contentment
Disillusioned, you hide in fictitious make believe,
possessed by demons who purblind and deceive.
In your bogus twisted fabricated state of mind,
answers to your questions you shall never find.
Your fraudulent mask poses, deceptively concocted,
mocking with a grim masquerade you have adopted.
ii death
As your heart blackens with the absence of light,
Lucifer summons you closer, to his sheer delight.
Loved ones cannot save you from hell's burning heat,
there's nothing behind you but shadows of deceit.
Now that your toxic nature has begun to expire,
you can no longer suck energy like a vampire.
Nobody cares to listen to your forged confession.
There is only joy in the absence of your aggression.
iii after life
Pain like hungry howling wolves irritates skin deep.
After all this time, why do you sabotage my sleep?
Am I cursed that I see your silhouette in my dreams,
I'm struggling to ignore your torrid smouldering screams.
Why continue to haunt me like a vicious viper?
Firing shells of cyanide like a silent sniper.
iv remedy for change
I'm fortunate that my quill has become my shield,
for every wound, poetry is my remedy to be healed.
My ink is my saviour, bursting through my vein,
a catharsis for peace, as from hate I abstain.
Foreboding of a tempestuous storm,
it blackens as it draws near,
a cumulonimbus in towering form,
extending to the troposphere,
So cast off mooring and slacken the line,
break free while there's still time,
'cause I'll pull you under if you don't let go,
Save yourself and abandon ship,
I'll take on water and sink too quick,
in gales of winds the swells arise,
these waves will break and so will I,
Roars of thunder and screeching wind,
sheets of lightning and pelting rains,
walls of waves will batter within,
until our stability wanes,
So cast off mooring and slacken the line,
untether your heart from mine,
'cause I'll drown us both if you don't let go,
Save yourself and abandon ship,
I'm taking on water and sinking quick,
in gales of winds the swells arise,
these waves are breaking and so am I
Oh this cloud that shrouds you, dear
blackens and traps that heart so fine
Leaving doubt where there never should be
Can't you see? I would shout so loud...
If only I knew you could see...or hear me
A distorted mirror lies to you
leaving tears fall for your poor heart
or anger in place of where sorrow sickened
Crashing like waves and subsiding tides
praised be that smile rarely seen
shining to me willingly
My dark princess...I see your angel
She is effortlessly beautiful and free
She flys graceful and lovely
She basks in th light you feel deprived
She is your other side...hiding
hiding only from you
Evrytime that you were near
My eyes would have that glitter
My heart would beat faster
My smile would get wider
My feelings for you
were so very strong
I jst wanted to kiss you
And hold you for real long
As u gently rolled down the
Tips of ur fingers on my skin
desires grew within me
I knew I was comitting a sin
But with all that passion
I only craved for more
It felt so true to the heart
I assumed that it was pure
The temptations to stay close to you
Made me so intoxicated
That I cudnt realize tht this
Wasn’t gonna stay and that we would be separated
That's when I felt
The fear of this sin
While ur passionate touch
Went on my skin
In a moment my heart,
My body, my soul,
Were filled with nothing but guilt -
Guilt of the sin
Guilt of the temptations
The regret was so deep
Nothing within me was left
it killed all the desires,
the passion, the tempt
no more was in me
Just lik a dead rose
As it slowly blackens
Was how my heart had chose
Blackened with the sins
Wilted by the guilt
and that's when I realized
it was a -
death of desires by a sin.
Aye, what a revolution in red and orange against the
venom of society and culture
With the flowers of right palm though a gesture of dance
in fact covers her tears
A story of blue tension and deep emotion in red flamenco
so flamboyantly executes the dancer
The crimson movement of the lyrical arms and torso
in sync with the guitar is awesome
Unique euphoria of exuberance in the swirl of a female figure
so provocative
What a dancing dream doing up the drawings of
the body on the fly
What a message of moons in mounds you convey
through the crafty curves
And each passing passion pulsates from prose to
poetry of muscles and bones
Eros encouraging us to transcend ourselves through
the journey of desire like a fountain
From brownish black towards the orange flames
on the comely conical mountains
And the warmly amber valley as it mingles with the
flames from the dancing spark
Blackens darkens and then harkens at joyous response
of mesmerized connoisseurs
Deepens the dense dance still further by generating
romantic proposition in her gestures
Unstoppable time hypnotized to stop for a moment to
stand and see how infinity can dance
Time itself in much ado on the long neck of
reddening movement
Aye, you dancing fire spreading your oranges everywhere
from Andalusia to Madrid
And then all over the globe amazing you me and all
in modern style of elegant gestures
Sliding the shoulder blades down the back and thus
the chest held proudly
Inviting inquisitive attention to read the poems
up to the chin and down the tall back
Closing the eye for a few seconds we see in awe our fertile
dear earth in a dance of rebellion
The earthy and raw in a fascinating gesture of life
we do need to feel so much
That while in the midst of viewing what you interpret
we too get merged in the dancing colour
Aha! What a phenomenon

For the contest:Poems that paint a picture 3
Hosted by: Silent One
The first time I glimpsed your beautiful smile,
I couldn’t believe you were real, my ideal!
Your beauty captured my attention and soul ,
I could sense it immediately, you make me whole.
Now the distance between us and every moment apart,
is so painful and sad, it blackens my heart.
For you, my heart longs, your gentle, kind touch,
Your smiles, your pure love, its all just too much,
For my lonely sad soul to be far apart,
I crave you, I need you, you are my sweetheart!
Now that you have come into my black and white world,
Color abounds, and rainbows unfurled.
A new joy in my heart, for love once again I am filled,
A new hope, a new faith, happiness re-instilled.
You are my true joy, and hope for forever,
Im thankful for you and Im glad were together.
Night.
Nay-it not now, when the darkness still crawls nearer
Night you shall always be the welcomed Angel, to implore
To nay-it, a message the sun has left, with fires
Oh shades of the day, magma and ice
Always at heels of each, enemies and friends
Which one, which one comforts me?
Nights of nay-its succesful reigns..
When upon my creaky atsatsa*, I counts the fruits
deka...
...eve,
.. etor...
Sun oh sun, fire out of the Brahma's hearth, you reign in history
my journey has started
A soul searching
Reflections
Mesmerises
To clean the brass and shine its surface
For the lights boasts of shines to soar
As I clean my self of debris of old, of old ages
Ah, night, nay-it, all that blackens me with blots.
Now
.....till
when.......
