He said he would prosper
If he lived that long.
Meanwhile, life happened
Passing like a freight train.
The years, the dusty years:
They rolled and rolled.
To some event not planned.
Water in the summer, ice in the winter
Was the way the world rolled.
Sometimes it seemed as if
Only a pauper could live the life
unimpeded.
Rest was torn from the room
Like old and faded wallpaper.
There was an erstwhile event
Unfolding like origami.
Nevertheless, nature spoke
And everyone listened.
When their turn came
People stood at attention
And took their pay.
The military was no help at all.
Even guns became mute as asps.
Thus we see that everlasting is a real
fidelity.
Brides give over their hands
To a ring of gold.
The gold will not tarnish,
But earth will eat it.
Noon turns to dusk
Like a drunken sailor--
staggering.
Time is short in this place,
This place of fine crystal,
All clear, transparent, bejeweled.
She is decked out in finery,
No fool would scorn her.
No sailor would pass her
unnoticed.

cold clear reflection
winter's dead sparkle bright
bejeweled
autumn’s reflections
luminous mosaic hues ~
displayed in crisp air
If teardrops were gems,
words I wrote were hems,
these tears of emptiness
would manifest
glimmering
necklaces.

Slowly you drive to the top of the hill
A place where the city shows diamond spill
The view below, a bejeweled delight
The dome above us star studded with lights
Pine trees whisper in the cool evening breeze
A timeless essence makes both spirits free
Your eyes take me in to the real of dreams
The current of passion over us streams
Gently you trace inner curve of my thigh
Though self-constrained, out escapes a deep sigh
You lean in to me, your lips in command
The fragrance of you, submission demands
On bejeweled night, my body you claimed
My past and future, with your love was framed
Eileen Manassian Ghali
Bronze soil, softened and bare
Beneath sky stacked pillows
Beckons the touch of green--
Beleaguered steps, I breathe
Brushstrokes of tender heat
Before my eye finds bloom
Bathed in ruby blossoms

Success is made of dreams in your pocket
No person can ever steal them.
Many, unfortunately, will try
The joy of hurting a close friend?
By not reading them or no mail, suddenly.
Is a sad but to be expected reality.
Not when you are new, oh no!
But unless in a clique or commenting all day?
You are worthless as rotting old hay.
I know who my friends are here.
I hold those jewels, quite dear.
Thank you for adding true value to my life.

Entwining ropes,
parchments unfurled
upon fertile ground;
opaque pendants
caress the vine;
a burden
earned in the
effulgent sun rays.
semi-precious
and bejeweled fields,
of concord
ecstasy;
Mother Nature’s
offspring.
Bejeweled Bertha can dive into any pond
Flipping back to the surface with rare jewels on
She sometimes finds emeralds, once she found gold
Her necklace today of pearls looks like antiques, oh so old.
Bejeweled Bertha’s family is full of magical beasts.
Some can conjure up the most scrumptious delicious feasts.
One uncle can go down into a cave and come out with a bear.
He gets scratched and bitten a lot, but he does not care.
