On Bejeweled Night

Slowly you drive to the top of the hill A place where the city shows diamond spill The view below, a bejeweled delight The dome above us star studded with lights Pine trees whisper in the cool evening breeze A timeless essence makes both spirits free Your eyes take me in to the real of dreams The current of passion over us streams Gently you trace inner curve of my thigh Though self-constrained, out escapes a deep sigh You lean in to me, your lips in command The fragrance of you, submission demands On bejeweled night, my body you claimed My past and future, with your love was framed Eileen Manassian Ghali

It was a magical night, Nette....My boyfriend, present day husband, and I were dazzled by the view of Beirut on the top of the hill of our compound....We were also star struck with each other. Beautiful memories...That view up there still takes my breath away. I wish you could see it.....

Harry...You are so sweet. Thanks ever so much...This one was a slice of my life...Sweet sweet memories...I wish....Well, hubby does tell me we can't be star struck at 46, but....I wonder! I want to write more sonnets...They are not easy. I can see why you love them, Harry. I love many of Shakespeare's sonnets. Did a class on him....Thanks for those ending words. You make me smile...I love your visits.

Jon...you are following me on FB. Yes, I do like posting my "success" stories there. Part of it is to show my family and friends that it isn't "all in my head." I mean...I guess they are surprised that I've gotten this far. You know, "A prophet is without honor in his own country." Thanks for encouraging me. I'd love to have a poem on the top spot here on day..Then I can finally say...I'VE ARRIVED! :)

Gorgeous & very touching lines embedded here. Though, admittedly, I read the word in your title, "Bejewled", and I thought of the video game. The video gamer nerd in me apologizes for that. Actually, no I don't. =D But, I still adored the hell out of this poem! Cherish what matters, remove the clutter that doesn't matter.

Adore the hell out of this poem.....Drake, I can HONESTLY say this...No one..BUT NO ONE pulls of HELL and DAMN like you do! How? How did you turn these words with such negative connotations into ones that bring joy! A mystery! Anyway....I forgive the nerd in you...I'm stuck in Pac Man days! HA HA HA HA! My daughter is a bit more savvy. One name sticks out....PRINCE OF PERSIA! Yes...Persia...where I was born! AHA!!! Ok, enough of my nonsense. Thanks for stopping by! :)
