Latent Tuberculosis

Rosy lips,
And rosy cheeks,
Plump face,
A person with a grace!

His ‘good’ (?) health,
Behoves his wealth,
Eats well,
Looks well!

But becomes easily breathless,
Often gets night-sweats,
His health is virtual,
And not real!

This ‘big’ boss,
Can not have “Koch’s!”
Some one may challenge,
Beware! A strange cozenage!!

National No Bra Day

National No-Bra Day

You want to know why
The 9th of July
Is special so the guys say
You see red-blooded guys
Have opened their eyes
For National No-Bra Day
And here’s to the gals
Who improve our morales
By taking this day to heart
May your day be uplifting
With minimal shifting
And compliments off the chart
If this poetry moves you
Then it surely behoves you
To do less would surely be wrong
And it can’t feel much better
To simply unfetter
What you have kept fettered too long

Premium Member 17 Sweet Briar Road - Port of Spain

Wistful is the heart, silent the walls
where the gambols of youth echoed.
A return tale’s sentimental journey
inside the gates of Sweet Briar Road

Long it behoves me my thanksgiving
to you, aunties Yvonne and Jocelyn T.
For all the love you showed withal
and for all the good you saw in me

Hearken the jumbie bird in the night,
the heat of day and smell of rain.
And QRC bell tower sombre tolled
the hills and valleys of Port of Spain

The crowd’s roar filled its cricket halls
on window row to a grandstand view.
And an open door its gates would be
    to weary travellers passing through

By candlelight on evensong sabbath
I saw hands petitioned in God’s raise.
And among portrait, altar and chattel
an old ne-gro woman chanted in praise

Downstairs eating pepper mango,
salt prune and sweet preserved plum.
And upstairs the ghosts of the dead
a trickery of wind and light become

With long treetop fruit picker in hand
softly chorused the sound of Greyfriars.
When joyfully as I picked to my ear
sung the weekly Church Group Choir

Up creaky staircase bedroom chamber,
pantry annex and old livery quarters.
Home to where my grandfather lived
with his wife, eight sons and daughters

In Christian soldier evangelical prayer
waited I for sleep’s silent lull perchance.
O but late by BBC midnight wireless
did growl the dogs in lunar trance

I followed the trail back to its past -
a prodigal son on long returned stay.
When time and fate and the risen sun
dawned upon a much younger day

Why Part One

this got written x years ago
behoves this update version of a bozo
christened sans parents
   playing eeny meeny miny moe,
yet upon tiring of game with a no
   nonsense attitude
eventually decided on Not Nada Poe

Whit - Walt har vee gong to call So and So
Now, you probably wonder and ask
yarself y am.i. On a wishy washy
web site - far tis to bask

in offline and/or online friendship
as like quaffing from a flask
with no deliberate intent
   to antagonize nor mask
n e hidden agenda -

   quite a challenging task.
Thus, i turn the question back 2 u,
per what spurred posting/responding too
and might there be interest
with me - n average hue

man male - hoping
   4 an acquaintance brand new
from - this barred bard -
   scot tush matthew.

Dis horny older buck haint gonna take a byte
so...no need to take fright
i merrily scout cyber seas donning
me virtual webbed whirled wide wet suit to brook

 a female friendship countless
   adult oriented web site
such as ashleymadison, badoo, craigslist, elitemate,
 plenty of fish tagged twoo,

or other venue left of the political right
and if absolutely positively unquestioningly
without subatomic particle of interest
than please just respond albeit and try to be polite...

good morning, noon, or night
quite
right
to be guarded when an acquaintanceship
   begins out of sight

whereby data bit bump and grind
   thru the information super
   highway somewhat tight
and bring x rated epistles to life that i write.

Ma arch i bald dingbats of fingas clip by
 at greased lightening speed
justa friendship this poor fella doth need
an accommodating gal to offer a lead
mien eyes did not purposely heed

Premium Member Winters White Cloak

The hoarfrost bites the tender limbs, with hard snow on the ground
The water surface mirror like, in the forest there's no sound
The footbridge wears a coat of ice, flashing in the sun
Awaits steam blowing joggers, out on their morning run

The birds sit on the branches, wrapped in feathers warm
The morning is so peaceful, not the slightest sign of storm
The badger curled up in his set, he waits for stronger sun
You can't dig worms in iron hard ground, winter life's no fun

The fox patrols the open ground, where the rabbits dig for grass
They are deep down in their burrows, wait for early morn to pass
While Owls eat mainly insects, Voles and Field mice don't stray far
From the warmth of grass lined burrows, safe haven that they are

In time the winter turns to spring, the freshness that it brings
The green grass back, the leaves on trees, all the pleasant things
Soon will come the Caddisfly, with larvae for the fish
The same that later in the year, end in the anglers dish

And so it goes the seasons pass, as they have always done
Since the time this earth our home, created by the One
While each of us is not here long, it behoves us to take care
Of what was given us to use, I'll do my best I swear

Premium Member A Firing

As your immediate boss and superior
It behoves me to have to inform you
Your services are no longer required
A formal letter of termination will ensue!

It has nothing to do with performance
You've really done an admirable job
Believe me, I've tried hard to ignore them
The rumours from everyone's gob!

You've stepped over the line, my friend
With this affair that has people talking
Each time you walk through the office
Sure you've noticed people gawking

I've tried really hard to turn a blind eye
And attempted to keep it hush hush
But now I just can't ignore it anymore
I'm beginning to turn into a lush!

Normally it's not a reason for dismissal
But you've caused me to endure such strife
That I must consider this a special case
Coz the partner in this affair is my wife!

Lovelorn

Restless awakening behoves my mood
Unrelated, deep dragging thoughts conspire
Surely, my love's doubt of me misconstrudes
Why, my confessions of love all aspire

Depressingly, the day stretches ahead
Twelve hours, 720 minutes
Each passes, so.... slowly, I am so sad
Wrestling my inner demons, life's the pits

Her vision swims... no longer can resist
A text, I cannot believe one from her!
Reciprocate, by return, she does insist
Her love intact, she wants me to concur

To text..... dare I show again - to be dashed
No......what a bummer, internet has crashed!

Call To the Quarters of the Sage

Magnifying is your sight,
filtering your destination.
It’s odyssey to the legs
but you walked it with your gaze.
No more too long a distance
is thousands of miles away.
Your adorable gaze beckons
to the elements you require
for manufacturing words.
To your disposal they hasten.
Literary dexterity:
your alluring criterion!
It behoves me to tell you
to behold what beckons you—
it’s the quarter-gate of the sage!
You are welcome here, darling.

Premium Member Death In Beslan

Was first day of school when evil befell
the town children who marched in happy tune,
and the school bell tolling rung its death knell
for the dead and dying who died too soon.
Sadly there is none so Godless and none
so dangerous as a fool with a cause -
no rest will come to the ghosts of Beslan
until the cause of peace gives hatred pause.
A schoolyard is not a theatre of war,
no child a legitimate enemy -
are men’s hearts so black, rotten to the core
that he finds refuge in atrocity?
What badge of honour behoves the wearer
to bear on children a reign of terror?

              Written: October 2004

Wrote this after the senseless school siege
at Beslan in Russia by Islamic militants. At
least 334 people died including 186 kids in
2004. Now similar atrocities curse Ukraine.

Cherished Children

A childs laughter is a precious sound,
To watch them smile as they play around,
Filled with gleeful giggles that resound,
It will fill the blackest of hearts with joyful glee,
As they run in the wind hair wild completely carefree,
Not a single widowed worry whispering in there ear, No agenda no fear glowing with an innocent endear, There souls filled and glow with the purest of light, They truly are a precious delight to have in sight,
To cradle such beauty within ones arms,
Or encase there tiny hands in our giant palms,
It truly is a blessing to be hold, Or so I am told,
To have a child is a gift from himself up above, Created by the angles and sent down a beautiful dove,
A child teaches us compassion, patience, and love, The unconditional kind that you behoves,
There clever cheek filled with wit and humour,
As they grow from toddler up to junior,
With aspirations like being a zoo keeper in the future, Or maybe a dancer, doctor or police officer,
You pray its filled with happiness each and everyday, As yours have always been since there first birthday.

The Twisting Mind

The Twisted Mind
It behoves you well to delve in the twists and turns of my mind
As my thoughts undulate through the passages before the truth you find
Do the Tarantula March and dance well through the space
Where processing thoughts and words mingle, dancing with such grace…

Each twist, each turn, each thought kicked high, and then cleaved down low
Thrown and tossed out, chopped and diced, then a new thought does grow
My mind is dark, then light as can be, loving and warm but searching to be free.
Free from what my mind tied screams, yet I know I have heard the decree…

So pick your dance and partner well, as you skip through my mind in a twirl
The conglomeration of thoughts and brainstorms you may just unfurl
Tread carefully all those that want to know what lurks inside
You never just know the Devil, may have just taken a new bride…

Premium Member For Oscar On His 5th Birthday

Yours is a healing and life-giving balm
that behoves me my merry thanksgiving,
I am by my own twist of fate becalmed
and I am wiser to wonderful things.
Memento Mori and Carpe Diem -
there is much to see and much to begin
so live well and long that in years to come
you not look back and muse what might have been.
Now if from your helping cause I abstain
or when in lonesome brooding I am sad
in futile excess, I’ll beg once again
to hear you curing say “I love you dad!”.
O’ wife and child it’s you and only you
that makes me love and do the things I do.

The Tree of Trust

Trust is like a valiant fruit tree
That is not grown just with words,
                                 Nor does it mature carefree;
Its seed sown with love in the backyard
Needs to be watered with due care
And attended with a fitting flair.

Its roots are damped with honesty
While its trunk breathes out confidence,
                                   Its stems smell of sincerity,
                               Its branches exhale the pertinence
                                  Of promises kept and sustained
And its leaves unfold truth maintained.

Its fruits roll out joy and pleasure
While its seeds procure new life
And its shade provides some shelter,
                             Whether from life`s occasional strife,
The ardent rays of the midday sun
Or the transient rain at dawn.

Yet the valiant tree of trust
Can dry up with the venom of lust,
With the pure poison of mistrust
Or with the noxious bane of hate
That can drive it to a sad fate
And turn it to sorrowful dust.

It truly behoves one and all
Not to let the sacred tree of trust
                                       To reach a desolate downfall,
Nor allow it to turn to dust
But to hold it high as a must,
As a companion of the soul.
