"Kevin"

Drug buy,
for one it went good.
Drug buy,
for one it went bad.

You see Kevin,
wore high heeled sneakers.
You see Kevin,
was his junkies' keeper.

But one day;
the junkie didn't have it,
so Kevin didn't give it,
but the junkie had to have it,
but Kevin didn't get it.

So when his beeper beeped beeped,
the Junkie popped popped.
And when his beeper beeped beeped.
his heart beat beat,

"Stopped."

“In Truth, He Lies”
(Kevin’s Funeral)

Preacher screams,
"He's goin’ to heaven",,
Kendra cries,
"Wake up Kevin",,
Momma sighs,
"Baby, don't cry",,
Grandma weeps,
"Kevin's asleep",,
Grandpa states,
"Resting his eyes",,
But when Momma screams,
"wake up Kevin",,
Grandpa weeps,
and then we all cry,

But to me,
It don't matter none.
Whether Kevin's in Hell,
for what he's done.

But the truth is,
Kevin lies.
In that casket,
before my eyes,

And the coffin keeps,
such still remains.
But will the coffin keep,
what still remains?

Premium Member A Simple Game of Cat-And-Mouse

A cat crept out of hiding
   To ambush was she gliding
Toward a mouse, unaware
   Whose time he was a-biding

The tiny mouse did sniff the air
His nostrils poking here and there
Pricked his head up in alarm
His radar beeped, 'Better beware. '

Stealthily the cat advanced
   The mouse's feet fairly danced
As the cat's paw swiped thin air
The mouse long gone, off he'd pranced

This simple game of cat-and-mouse
You too can play it, in your house
Just make sure that you're the mouse
If you'd like to keep your spouse

Premium Member The Last Call

Hectic day, the device beeped incessantly:
Salient, superficial, attended all, not to skip,
the vital from the plethora of logs.

Voices buzzed interminably : known, alien,
the bulk superficial and unknown;
Irritated, lulled the apparatus to silence;
urged own moments from the bustles!

That mercy on the mode,
the lulling turned erroneous; fateful!
Rued the decision; the most urged one,
was missed like never before!
Irony! Took the tool to ring back; came another,
vital one, as clarion call.

Engrossed in the pivotal, forgot the ring, missed again;
no sooner did arrive, reclined, took the device to recall.

Fated! On that very moment, the gadget beeped again,
to convey the harrowing, the man behind the missed call, was no more!
The abrupt demise of the yearned voice, numbed the core!
Dumbfounded! how could that be the last call?

That last glimpse! That intimate husky voice!
Unable to hold the irrevocable;
Unruly drops rolled down from the sterling eyes unbidden:
A mere heave: could have catched that beep of the last call!

The Impression Left By Love

By destiny, became friends
Not by real contact but e - contact
Great was the distance that separate, yet felt so close
Shared dreams, goals and ambitions
With optimum passion of achieving them
Shared knowledge which empowered onto wisdom
Got to know the common and contrast
Hours after hours, laughed and frowned
Days after days, shared pains and gains
Months after months, the hearts seemed too close for an e-feelings
There arose a need for some definitions to be made
Necessitating some decisions to be taken
Alas! picked the word 'distance' even in the digital world
Anytime the past memories beeped,
It seemed treading the future path was impossible
Month by month, could see more possibility
Day by day, could get rid of the past memories
Hour by hour, the future path became clearer
And at the last minute when everything seem to be new
There appear the e-friend in the real world
Like a shadow under the sparkling light
with blast of some melodious music of Spanish touch
Thought everything was over
But not the impression left by love
which could lead to something new
And definitely in the real world

Premium Member Censorship

Sometimes, if an act is to be funny,
a comedian may resort to using profanity.
What he says may be considered outrageous,
but he makes laughter look like it's contagious.
On television, you would never hear a profane quip.
The sound may be beeped out due to censorship.

Are You There God Its Me Microsoft

My computer glared with social hate
I buried my head down
It beeped a message
Telling me; we should really spend less time together,
I just think your making everything about me
I can't be friendly to your friends anymore
I can't keep wishing electronic happy B-days, when I don't know who the hell they are!
Tell me you hear me..... also this facebook wench! Jesus does she have to know
Everything you and me do in private
Can't we even go out on an on-line date,
Without checking for the latest youtube sensation
I mean, since when do you even listen to OK Go?
Not only that, but you use me to steal others copyrighted material
I could go to jail and so could you,
Do you want the FBI to confiscate me from you?
I thougt so, I just came to the conclusion that
You and me? we need to take a cyberbreak
You should try your cellphone sometimes..., I know he definately feels left out
Except when your using him to check on me!
We're through
This is done
I can't keep living life knowing that your using me to become sociably popular
I'm not your free ride to reality T-V fame
Get it? Got it? Good!
And if I catch you trying to tweet me in my sleep....
Well..... you don't even want to know!

Premium Member Recipe Gone Wrong

I was in the mood for baking
With recipe book in hand
Instructions for a cake were found
I couldn't wait to start

Lining up all my ingredients
To reach them when they're needed
One by one the contents added
I think I'm ready to stir the bowl

Just then my neighbour came to the door
We chatted for what seemed like hours
We had so much to catch up on
I for got about the cake

I put the batter into the oven
Setting the timer for forty minutes
Anticipation kept me waiting
For the cake to be done

The oven beeped, I opened the door
Only to discover a giant liquid mess
I realized I forgot an important ingredient
The flour,it was missing

Instead of being angry
Laughter burst out of me
Better to laugh insteas of crying
Not all recipes turn out right

Fakery

You see them all the time,
the Stepford wife
and her counterpart,
the bronzed over, buffed high sheen,
man bun walking in skinny jeans,
so tight they squeak...
HIPSTER as they pass on by.

With a flower in the beard,
the artisans musk hinting the air,
bees wax soap and a scent of irony,
the newfound Stepford-hipster syndrome,

Both are the same
but from different sides,
one glossy eyed,
over-medicated,
injected perma- grinned.
The other a living Subaru commercial,
planting city trees,
while in the not so distant future
a real life Bancksy dog will pee.

The urban sprawl,
the shame of it all,
the 1%,
the cost of the gas,
that gets her to the shore
while texting and calling in her oversized Cadillac Escalade,
that was beeped violently at it drove right past
A city zap it rental,
Toyota Prius hybrid sport,
on the Garden State Parkway
with a flowered bearded hipster
driving slowly with thick black glasses,
inside.

Kendra’s Cries
(Kevin’s Baby Sister)

Is Kevin destined,
To rest in sleep?
Or Kevin alive,
When Kendra weeps?

Drive down Main st.
At the stop light,
Stop! Then go right.
"Right?"
Right!
Onto Grief St.
"Onto where?"
Onto Grief St.

Drive down Grief St.
At the stop sign.
Stop! Then stare right.
"Right?"
Right!
Into Kendra,
"Into where?"
Into Kendra.

Her Kneeees,
Grounded on the concrete.
Her eyeees,
Focused on the concrete.
Her tearrrs,
Falling on that chalk line.
Her hearrrt,
Broken by his outline,
Kevin!

Butttt,
Put the pedal to the medal,
Try to say "See ya",
Go from zero to sixty;
But I'll still see ya.
Cuz I'm always there,
When Kendra cries.
Cuzzzz,
Some walls got ears,
But mine's got eyes…

Kendra’s Eyes On the Wall {Limerick}

Eye once had a brother named Kevin,
Who got shot and went up to heaven,
He left home one day
And got blown away.
So Eye don't see him no more.

Soldiers Nightmare Contest Waking Up From a Nightmare

VIETNAM VET SOLDIER'S NIGHTMARE

Another dream –
I could not wake –
Escape from what would follow--
Grasping for a secret word, the letters stark and hollow--
I was trapped entangled there,
Just beyond the reach
Of men that could release me
Or a hill that could be breached

Gunfire was a backdrop
Soft and pungent was its sound
Fell on me like raindrops--strangely harmless on the ground

Smoky gray encased me like a piece of sleeping net
Tunnel faces hidden —easy killing, no regret--
Felt terror and the aching for the friends around me cold
Standup guys with stalwart hearts--just did what they were told

Then my cell phone beeped a beep---
A message had come in ....
Now awake I saw your name---
My new day would begin.

Gossip Midnight

A beep!! Message inbox queued
Bring around his sleepy-eyes
The night prowler came alive.
Last night’s morning sayonara smack
Later left with unrequited calls.

Message through network by amorist, said,
‘Hoped if u were here beside,
I wud have rest my arms upon u
N wud slp t8 until U wake me up
4m my woolgathering’.

A morning tea and breakfast
First lecture bunked and second lecturer’s incomplete task
Noon show lunch break and evening CCD on the way.
McD snacks together
Only left with dinner, back to home.

Clock ticked dinner time
Her cell beeped, ‘ honey calling you at midn8’.

FM on, light music quenched the dimmed room
A gentle breeze left with thoughtful blossom.
A miss call alert, so called a reminder –
Afresh mood and respond back
Two rings for that awaited hands to answer
A muted ‘Hello’, and both felt back.

Retrieved day dilation and few imaginary soul kisses in between
Blurred with further topic, exchanged dally romance
Yet sounded reality.
Eyes closed and more audible muted talks
Aleatory future plans,
Queried by an unthought-of waiting call.
A new topic now, ‘ who was it?’
Unknown number so whether is that to be left aside??

Tentative soul mate yet in a dedicated tone
Questions rained and situation falsified
Might be a secret that to be hide.

Coped modishly and eyes left with few drops of water
A penitent kiss followed.
Things now became thicker,
The soft music echoed through the network
Snap up pillow and twisted moves
Extend of imagination seemed
Fetched them more closely.

Awaken dad knocked
Cell phone averted and her hammy sleepy-eyes
Fooled begetter proved not to be a dictator.

Excused candidly and led off with next day’s plan
The good night dawn and jaded eyes
An argument who would cut the line…..
Lastly a fanciful tight hug and a sayonara kiss
Left again with another, beep!!

Las Vegas:Pigeon's Paradise

Las Vegas, Pigeon’s Paradise!

At the Angel Park Golf and Country Club
The pigeons sported neck scarves
Of iridescent iris, white and blue
As they hoped with expectations
Around divots in the turf,
Now filled with sand and seed
By a golfer's hand
And side-eyed morsels with
Tilting beaks in obvious delight
Seemingly in agreement
That heaven had dropped
Here.
Pigeon’s paradise!

At the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino
The people sported lewd t-shirts
Of sexual slangs or comic twangs
As they hoped and smoked with expectations
That gurgled and beeped
As neon lights flashed numbers,
Slots filled with flashing icons
By a tycoon’s hand
Yanked and cranked handles
Seemingly in agreement
That heaven had to drop
Here.
People’s price!

Premium Member Balled of Carolyn Bointon

It was, I really must admit, with quite some trepidation
I braced myself and stepped up to the vacant self-serve station.
Placed my bag in readiness to save having to lift it
but a female robot voice boomed out and made me go and shift it.
After that it beeped and flashed as everything got scanned,
all items being packed away exactly as I'd planned.
Until I moved my shopping bag for another I'd be using
then 'Red Alert!' all hell broke loose,
the staff all stared, accusing.
Enough's enough- abandon ship, why let this thing unnerve me?
I'm off to find a corner shop, and let a human serve me.

Daily Routine In Hospitals

The EKG-ECG beeped as she "breathed" heavily
with the oxygen mask across her face
gradually her hope "limped"

her little fingers revealed her hunger for comfort
her spontaneous restricted movements showed her mind refreshed the terrible moments of
deja vu- the scene that sprung her sadness

the silence around her seemed intimidating-stealing-encapsulating her awareness

lying on the bed
she appeared death infested-deficiently dying looking life malnourished in need of
resuscitating replenishment

no one was there to console her- to deliver a presence of comfort-hope
I knew she had forgotten the presence of her guarding angel

as the quietly dripping water from her eyes somewhat proved me right

she bled helpless-hopeless uncertain tears as her final moments on planet earth ticked
and the EKG-ECG beeped delivering its warning signal

silently watching the current sent by the defibrillators to her left chest-into her heart
kept me on hope's track

her parents waited in undying frustration as the doctors unveiled the exterminating news

the truth is what I lay before you

before the arrival of the doctors she had crossed over to another world - "breathed" past
resuscitation point-center.
